  • if u use 2 benches, u can put weight plates on your lap. This is literally one of THE best excercises, no joke

  • Thanks, I always did this wrong until now

  • hey I'd suck that black guys penis.

  • jus added these to my tricep workout after seeing this video . my triceps r completely wasted like i nva felt before : )

  • This is epic because you sound like Samuel L Jackson.

  • 'and thats how i built these arms' oh and i also forgot to mention that i had to lift weights to get these arms.

  • awesome video!

  • I wish everyone I talked to sounded like you.

  • And that's how I built these arms

  • helpful video, also like the fact it's narrated by Samuel L Jackson

  • Thank you Cleveland, I now know how to do dips. LOL no bull I didn't know the proper way to do them, thanks.

  • Bowse

  • This guy is fucking awesome. I love him.

  • great video. THANKS

  • Nice video. Short and concise. Too many people just ramble on in their workout videos.

  • i like you!

  • Thanks for the video! Very helpful.

  • this shit is 2 easy jsut do regular dips 20 in a row 1min rest and do as much as u can i usualy do 100 so 5 times and my triceps and chest is really strong and i can do now 50dips in a row and im only 16 so guess everyone can do it

  • @DrKomaTrans

OK, now fast forward 15 years, with no exercise for christ knows how long, do 10 reps then tell me that shit is easy :D

  • @numeristacom will see :P

  • @DrKomaTrans Trust me, I hurt everywhere :) Hopefully it will get easier in a few weeks !!

  • I find this type of dip far too easy. Suspended dips with added weight are way better imo.

  • Exerciiiiise!!!!!!! lmao!!!!!!!

  • wish you would make more @michaeljohnsonyoutub

  • what a dude

  • i like how you say exercise lol, good vid :)

  • YOUR FUCKIN HUGE

  • 4 sets. but how much time rest in between?

  • @00Mj000 30-60 seconds I think.

  • @00Mj000 1 minute is usually the norm

  • do dips build ur chest muscles too??

  • @junmun123 yes & shoulders to a good extent as well.

  • @junmun123 those are a different kind of dips

  • @junmun123 Definitely. Although this version puts most of the focus on your triceps

  • "THAT HOW I BUILD THESE ARM" with pedo smile on his face LAWL!

  • Thanks Mr.Hot Shot. lol

  • his arms are as thick as my legs

  • do these build mass or just tone?

  • @RedSoxFan246 both.

  • @RedSoxFan246 thats ridiculous

  • "And that's how I built these arms" Is that an exaggerated claim? No offence, I'd kill to have your arms, but I don't want to delude myself, will this exercise really give me good tricep?

  • @DesolateManX It will if you also do other exercises like french press and other exercises which involve weight (dumbbells/halter weights). You can make this harder: put weight on your legs so you only do like 10 reps then you would build more mass, otherwise you will just train the condition of your triceps.

  • @DesolateManX This is by no means the only exercise you should do. Bodybuilding wisdom: "All the exercises work, none of them forever." Keep your workouts intense, consistent, and dynamic. Change is good my friend.

  • holy shit your back arm is godzilla!

  • @sinistercharlie Keep working out and one day your arms will be Mothra. Everybody can build muscle, that's the beauty of this sport. You don't have to be athletic, good looking, wealthy, or whatever to build muscle. You just have to be willing to work hard.

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub Do you do this everyday? i havent been doin any lifting . lol i just jog at the gym for an hr and go home hahha. by the way im around 174 lbs and im trying to get down to 165 this month. any recommendations ? any supplyments from gnc just to get a lil kick?

  • @sinistercharlie Everyday would be W-A-A-A-Y too much. Before you go to gnc for a little help to lose fat, I'd recommend that you simply add resistance training to your routine. Take the 1 hour you spend at the gym now and try dividing it up this way 3 times per week: 5 min warmup on the treadmill, 25 min lifting weights, and 30 min jogging as usual. The pounds will just melt off and you'll see a much better body emerging.

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub so i should warm up and lift first then run on the treadmill?

  • He looks like holyfield

  • which arms??

  • The wrong shouldn't be first

It's misleading if you have it on mute

  • @mrdudej Good point, we will add captions to the new videos. Keep 'em coming.

  • @mrdudej maybe, but why would you mute an instructional video? You obviously didn't, considering you know that it's the wrong way.

  • @Quibbleify He said IF.

  • @mrdudej

well dont have it on mute sucka...

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • @kumasuke1 Skull crushers, close grip bench, cable press downs are all great for building triceps. Just pick 1 or 2 and blast away.

  • what else is recommended alongside with dips for a reasonable tricep blasting routine? something that doesn't 'interfere' with the effects caused by dips

  • Fuck that hobo, this is the perfect voice.

  • HAHAHA, BENCH DIPS. WHAT A LOSER

  • @bbbbbb222222 Lol, I said the same thing back whenever I did parallel bar dips. Then I tried these with the correct form and now I laugh at parallel bar dips for the triceps. Only do it for the chest, bruh.

  • @steroidzr4loserz bench dips have the easiest form ever. how do you even do them wrong?

  • @bbbbbb222222 Everybody's body is different. This form doesn't suit my body, so I edited it a bit. I do both and they both kick ass but this is more triceps than the other one!

  • @steroidzr4loserz I do bench dips to warm up for parallel dips. Seeing your name now, I think I recognize you from comments in other videos. What you do? bodybuilding? powerlifting? oly lifting?

  • Take the tricep dip challenge at konkura.com

  • lol i love this dudes voice so cool

  • thank you for this video! i hope i can build some arms now! haha

  • @HybridFromPA tnx. If you can move your arms, you can build your arms. Train, eat, & rest big and you'll be buying new shirts in no time.

  • that black guy at the start looks like he's about to rape me

  • smoooooooooth black man

  • Will this help me improve on my press ups if i work on my triceps?

  • @MetalMatt2510 Absolutely!!! Plus, using different exercises will keep you and your muscles from getting bored.

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub

Im trying to do 60 press ups in 2 minutes for the Royal Marines test, im only getting about 35 at the moment but i thought i would work on triceps some more to help me improve.

  • @MetalMatt2510 A noble pursuit. Here are some suggestions. Pick one method, try it, and see how your body responds:

    1. Try the ancient Korean method of "1 more everyday". Take the next 25 days and try doing 1 more everyday. You'll find your mind will have an easy time accepting "1 more press up".

    2. Try doing weighted press ups once or twice a week (use a backpack or weight vest), and add ~5 lbs every workout. You'll suddenly find body weight press ups feel a lot easier.

    NOW GO AND CONQUER!

  • @MetalMatt2510 good luck mate!

  • @MetalMatt2510 lol 60 press ups

  • thanks man ...for showing the right techique

  • @gaurav091 UR welcome. Now pump those arms UP!!

  • His voice is so soothing!

  • @Acetactular Thanks [in a soothing voice]

  • You should never show the WRONG way to do something. You should just show the right way. If showing the WRONG way is dangerous, then it is still dangerous even though you are just giving an 'example'. I suppose you'd get away with tricep dips, but imagine if this guy showed you the WRONG way to do deadlifts. Crack crack!

  • @MaDMadZ101 indeed, tips for avoiding injuries should not be demonstrated fully, but orally explained.

  • how come I can do 30 bw dips, about 1-2 one-arm-pull up and my arms are still 14 inch...

  • @llrond 1.) There is nothing wrong with 14 inch arms. Especially if you have good definition.

2.) 30 dips & 1-2 ONE ARM PULL UPS!!! GREAT JOB.

3.) There is not always a correlation between muscle size and strength.

4.) If bigger muscles are something you want, you should adjust ur training to be more "bodybuilding specific" so that your reps, sets, diet, training frequency, etc all are optimized for muscular hypertrophy and any strength gains are an incidental side benefit.

  • @llrond bcuz u prob only weight 10 stone

  • @llrond because you're a 120lbs skinny kid. Try deadlifts and squats. If you can dead 500lbs and still have 14" arms, I'd kill myself to apologise you for my ignorance.

  • Looking great buddy, keep up the good work

  • iv seen better triceps on my cat !!

  • @cameron22555 Must be one incredible cat!!

  • barry white my darlin i cant get enuf of ur tris baby

  • @wickednicestuff Keep those wheels rollin' baby!!! I like ur roller derby vids... what a fun way to stay in shape.

  • barry white my darlin i cant get enuf of ur tris baby

  • Why wouldn't you do real dips?

  • What a nice voice. Thanks for this exercise

  • I love this exercise, really works the triceps...

  • This may only be a bodyweight exercise, but it gives me a real big pump.

Can this exercise help prevent triceps fatiguing when Bench pressing???? It seems like this exercise could be a good exercise to increase stamina as well as mass.

  • @HomicidalDavid Sure. Doing high reps will definitely build up your anaerobic endurance. Also building up strength in the support muscles for any lift is a good idea.

  • Loving that accent.

  • There is a

  • for some reason i only feel my right tricep when doing this left tricep just extends any help

  • @princemaster12345 That's very common. Work on increasing your mind-muscle connection by really "feeling" and squeezing both triceps. And as Arnold did for his exercises, actually visualize the muscles working and growing during the movement.

  • what if you put your legs on other chair is that harder.

  • @princemaster12345 Yes. And when those become too easy, put some weights on your legs to make it even more challenging.

  • This dude looks so calm and nice :D

    I really like him

  • @ajoj0909 Thanks.

  • does this help your back?

  • @DumbThingsWeDo Not by much. I'd recommend doing exercises directly for your back and abs.

  • I LOVE the smug smile the guy gives the camera as he points at his triceps XD

  • on scoobys dip excercise video, those are impossible can someone tell me if those are actually dips?

  • @coreyd79 theres a variety, the one on scoobys and this are different ways ofvdoin it

  • @coreyd79 those are way better than these. These isolate and causes less growth than proper dips, and these are more dangerouse for shoulder injuries.

  • Is there anyway to modify this exercise (to make it harder), in other ways than you just showed? You see I am 310lbs and doing the basic form at 8 reps of 3 sets atm, I am worried as I lose weight this exercise will become easy, what do you recommend, thank, and killer tris!

  • @Cerbethys Good question. It's really about raising intensity. That can mean doing more reps, shorter rests in between sets, or adding weights (in this case you can put some weights on your thighs or wear a weight vest or a backpack). At your body weight, I'd guess that you have large calves. In order to keep that muscle mass in your calves as you lose weight, you'll have to train your calves with as much intensity as they experienced when you were heavier. The same applies to your triceps.

  • lol there is no way ANYONE can get huge triceps from doing what he just demonstrated. That is more like a woman's tricep exercise to have toned tri's

  • I do the same exercise but with a chair on my feet and some plates on my legs, aroud 140 lbs

  • Do Triceps help your arms grow more?

  • @sinfulgokussj triceps are 2/3 of the arm ;) if you want big arms you need to train triceps otherwise gl getting the biggest arms xDD

  • @sinfulgokussj Absolutely. Triceps make up most of the muscle mass in your upper arms. So if you want to fill out those shirt sleeves, bomb those tris as much as you do the bis. Since it's a muscle group that is used less often than your biceps, the triceps really respond well to exercise. Just remember to keep them in balance.

  • im only 13 and i can do more than 200 inclined dips in a row, as displayed in the video, or one full REAL dip with 100lbs added to a harness with 100% FULL ROM and I'm 201lbs of solid dope-free power! XD

  • @13andincrediblycutt

    u need 100% stfu

  • @Livenderrr You need 100% of a brain. :P

  • @13andincrediblycutt You are full of 100% SHIT

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub: I will i will! thnx again 4 da vid!!!

  • this is my favorite triceps exercise, the things is, my wrists hurt a lot after the sets, what should I do?

  • @themethod Try one or more of the following:

    1. Make sure your palms are as close to the edge of the bench as possible. If your palms are too far back, it puts a lot of pressure on your wrists.

    2. Warm up your wrists well, stretch them, and do wrist exercises to strengthen them.

    3. Use wrist wraps or gloves with wrist support.

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub

thanks a lot for the reply, I'll try the warm up and strenght exercises

btw, do you have a forearm exercise video?

  • thnx bro for da vid! the vid helped me alot! my trycep is bigger than before thnx 2 this vid.

  • @xukun0 Now that's what I like to hear! Keep going. Remember to invite us all to the gun show one day. Best of luck.

  • My max, btw, is 200 straight-dips like he does in a row ALL-NATURAL with no aid of drugs. :)

  • this guy's accent is so alpha and he just looks like a cool dude. respect

  • You're doing them all wrong though.

Trust me I know how to do them right.

  • @13andincrediblycut Then make a video and stop complaining

  • @JackEvanJones agree. lol, mr america 1999 or 13 yr old kid on computer

  • @TomatoBasil23 I choose the 3rd one.

  • Not impressed.

  • Masturbation is common among adolescents, male and female.

  • i almost blew a vein doing this..

  • @LonelyClone Yeah! Feel that pump!

  • @LonelyClone Be careful ;)

  • im fifteen , can i build my body ?

  • @fhl96 YES! 15 is a great age to start working out. Your long bone growth is complete, and your body is making truck loads of growth hormones. Go for it!

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub are you joking? bone growth complete at 15? xDDD

  • @michaeljohnsonyoutub is it really okay ?is my growth won't stunted?

  • @fhl96 Yes. As long as you're 13 or older and you are not training excessively, you will grow as tall as you were meant to be. Just remember to rest and eat to support your muscle gains. Spend as much time as you need with light weights to really learn each exercise so that you are not developing bad habits and form.

  • @fhl96 okay :) thank you very much :)

  • @fhl96 U R welcome. Keep me posted on your progress. Love to hear about people becoming better.

  • this an exercice very easy

  • im 13 and i can do about 200 of those dips you do in the video.

    good?

  • thank you !

  • @Sm3gH3adx U R welcome

  • If you move your arms further out you mainly work the chest, correct? Arms very close to side work mainly triceps, arms further apart work pecs?

  • @LuigiBlevino This version of dips mostly works the triceps, although pecs and delts do get worked. What you're describing would be very true if you were doing push ups.

  • Is it okay for 14 year old to do exercises like these? My program is to do 2 times abs workout on week and 3 times strength workouts for 50 minutes. I use 4 Kg dumbells.

  • @desetnik15second Yes. The training you describe doesn't sound like it's excessive. You are doing the right thing. If your primary goal is muscle growth and not muscular endurance, don't hesitate to add a little weight (just a little at a time) when you get to a point you can do 12 or more reps very easily with those dumbbells. I started lifting weights when I was 13, it was an amazing period of my life. I loved it!

  • zammm daddy

  • This exercise really made my triceps burn. But is it possible to get big triceps like yours by only doing this exercise over a long period?

  • @wuzumaki There is no reason to limit yourself to only one exercise. To develop your arms to their full potential, hit them from different angles with different exercises and variations. It will keep your workouts fresh, fun, and challenging. Just pick one or two per workout and go at it hard.

  • I've done these for a couple of weeks now and I've done 3 sets, each set=20reps.I'm 20 years old and I was wondering how many would be yr recommendation for people like us? Would really appreciate yr advice Sir:)

  • @BiniamBarcelona That's a great start. Are you able to get to 20 reps easily? If so, I'd recommend adding some weight so that the last few reps are really challenging. I like to use a backpack when I want to add weight to a lot of different body weight exercises. Add a little more every week and your muscles will grow. Keep it up!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I love your arms man!

  • im 14 how often should i do this workout every week

  • @demon66685 2-3 times per week. 14 is a good age to start working out.

  • Best tricep exercise you can do

  • You should take the dip challenge at konkura.com

  • horrid form

  • @younube2 Yeah because you'd know

  • i manged to do 217 from an incline but only 42 completely down the rigth way

  • @13andincrediblycut Either way, it's still a good achievement. Just keep challenging yourself to do a little better, as often as you can.

  • every time i dip down i fart....is this normal? thanks

  • @bob6978 You're probably "really" relaxed at the bottom of this movement. That's OK. Just use the extra boost to get yourself back up. Seriously, to poot while you pump is not at all unusual. As long as you can disguise it with your grunting or get the equipment you're working out on to make a similar noise, no one at the gym will know.

  • @bob6978 are you serious? lol

  • @bob6978 lmaohahahaha

  • @bob6978 Lmao...I needed that laugh...
