  • she said no one could leave when the door was closed, how stupid is that,,, if you know your life or some one elses life is in danger you would do what ever it takes to get out.

its all most like she is brain washed,, if your leg was on fire you wouldnt expect a stranger to put out the fire you would do it your self,

  • James Ray found guilty.

  • This lady is trying for an oscar....Seriously your a doctor and you would not use better judgement and assess your surroundings and jump in to do CPR? or pull someone out that is having difficulty breathing or serious issues? I have been in a sweat lodge and I would do it in a heartbeat again. I thought it was the best feeling and experience ever.

  • @SSSGreekGoddess No she's not trying for an oscar, she is genuinely shocked and trying to explain what happened after being brainwashed by a cult.

  • The sweat lodge is a sacred ceremony to seek balance! and sometimes healing!..its what we as human beings have trouble keeping!!..it is a place of spirituality!..a place to go to if you need guidance, help..the man who ran this lodge didnt know what he was doing or he was in the for the money!!...the door should be opened if somebody asks for it..its not a place for test of endurance!..its true once the ceremony has started it has to be finished..but nobody should have to suffer!!!

  • i dont think the guy knew what he was doin with the bundles he was carrying or what spirits he was calling native medicine is strong and shouldnt be messed with

  • See what a white person doesn't know what their doing! thats karma playing back at them....never go into sweat lodge with a whiteman trying to be native* dayum fools

  • Really, 5 & 6 rounds? Lodges are only supposed to go 4 rounds to honor the 4 intervals of the seasons, the elements & ect. A round further than those 4 rounds is considered a Windigo-con round. This guy clearly had no clue of the teachings behind the sacred ceremony & of what he was doing.

  • im native and im scared of sweatlodges i do not like going in one it freaks me out when a spirit is touching my back and i have keep my eyes closed when it touches my back cause the spirit will get mad when i open my eyes thats what the medicine man told me not to open my eyes

  • @kushak47 your scared of sweatlodges? wow. dont go in them then. god, you gotta face your fears some day.

  • I think through all this it's clear Americans are just plain fucking stupid!!

  • she acts a little strange.

  • if she is a doctor, why the hell wasn't she helping people or why was she there....

  • People are so stupid....educated people (even a doctor non-the less) pay 10 grand to have some idiot put them in an oven in the desert. Just because you are educated doies not make you smart. I have seen this "juru" and i could tell he was a fake. just because some dude puts on a suite and stands in front of a camera does not make mean he knows what he is taling about... "i see dumb people"...

  • you never pay money for a sweatlodge or any native ceremonies espiecially if they are run by a white guy who doesn't know what they're doin.

  • use common sense then ive never witnessed a sweat lodge death or heard of 1 til now!

  • @sirizickclarke right.....

  • in America, if you pay lots of $ you'll find spiritual enlightenment from a clean cut salesman!

  • What a stupid person. Doctor ? Cry ! Blame someone else ? Hey ! I've got a good idea; let's put this plastic bag on this kids head and see what happens. Oh, and leave them in a hot car; with the windows rolled up. Is this person still seeing people for anything ? Like medical help ?

  • Alberta

  • she seems to have put alot of faith in that false guru, they are full of new age crap

  • Since when do orthodontists have extensive medical training? They have DENTAL training.

  • What i heard from another survivor was that James Ray would stay up front by the

door where temps are not as extreme like it is towards back where the extreme heat concentrates and stays

  • THE DOOR IS CLOSED LOL I CANT GET OUT

    What a fucking idiot

  • "survivor" lol get real. these rich fools paid $ for this hack to make them sweat - and now we treating the survivors like they were trapped in Chilean mine for 6 months

  • She has PTSD

  • damn im not a rascist by far my children are half white....but damn you wanna be native people out there go to an actual native sweatlodge not some posers lodge in it for the money!!! do some damn research you always claim 2 be the superior race well show some intelligence.

  • @dreamssofblue ........................Thats crazy.....hahahaha....maybe they shoulda bought sterile rocks from Home Depot.......

  • fukk you white crakker, howdy doody dandy yankee muther fukkerz..... damn ass-holez...

  • NewAgers....Lost newAgers, too blind to see. and follow a Goat dressed as a Sheep over the cliff, but then realize, the damn Goat is hanging from a limb on the cliff and counting money.

  • @unshodpony of course ray has nothing on the pope, also know as the the papa goat.

  • @mwells219 ........What?

  • @unshodpony i'm saying that christianity is a brainwashing cult no better than James Ray.

  • I don't think this would have happened like this if they hadn't fasted before for 36 hours, then had "breakfast" and went straight into the lodge. Some of these people were probably fucked up from the fasting, and close to dehydration, whose idea was it to fast AND do the sweat lodge....

  • @economistman I don't think this would've happened if they didn't exceed 30 minutes in the heat. In that sort of heat, the body can't regulate their body down, which will cause unconsciousness and death. Not to mention, with poor air circulation, oxygen levels will drop, causing suffocation.

  • What the fuck is wrong with this woman - I know she went through something terrifying, but she doesn't seem ready to be interviewed...

  • if u feel sick and dying and the door is closed OPEN IT DUMB FUCKS

  • @ZabeHon Not as easy as it appears if you haven't done one. They are crammed with people and a fire is central in a very small space from my experience.

  • We as the real Sweat lodge people warn those who run Inipis (sweatlodges_ not to play with things that take a lifetime to learn how to run them safely. you have to know how to run them for people with health issues. such as diebites, asthma, bad hearts ect. we tell people NOT to run them without trianing-which takes years to learn. but they see that some people will pay and thier they go taking chances with people lives. and this is what happens. you should never have more then one circle inside

  • I don't like phonies and frauds but I also don't like all of the racist comments. there is nothing good about people who think spirituality is not for everyone. Being a spiritual person has nothing to do with the color of your skin or what bloodline you come from. It takes a great amount of love for all people to even begin to comprehend what spirituality means regardless of what title it has or what ceremonies, etc. it involves. True spirituality and healing is for all people.

  • Thank you for putting it in to perspective. I actually knew James Arthur Ray, and ooh boy, could I ever tell you some stories!! A Huge Phoney, LIAR, Womanizer, and Coke Head! At a church seminar, (where he was to scam folks into buying his materials, etc.) he was BADLY stoned on coke (not unusual)... and I told him not to go on, somehow he pulled it off. I have the video and photos! Biggest "scam artist" ever. Never cared about anyone but his bank account!

  • That sweat lodge had NO ventilation. This lady is a highly educated physician. She should've DEMANDED that those people were let out!

  • are you serious?what do you mean the door was closed???Was it locked?where there people making sure you stay in the sweat lodge??...because unless someone was actually preventing you from going out than "the door was closed" is not a good enough excuse. he was looking to make money and you were looking to find some other meaning to life...but botoom line is you where all adult enough to know what is good for you and what not. he may be an ashole but you are also to blame!

  • I wish all the white people die!!!!!!!!. Fuck them!!!!. They're evil.

  • I have been to a sweat lodge, and a girl felt she couldn't go on, the moment she said she wasn't happy the door was trown open, she was given water, which was also applied to her face and body, she was advised to lie down and after a while she was helped out. the ceremony was stopped and did not resume.

    that's what should be done

  • ok you win! you stomped me with all of your original arguments. i believe in god now. thanks for changing my life!

  • That guy obviously didn't know what he was doing and didn't seek the help of anyone who did. Seriously, that guys dumb ass behavior got three people killed and other seriously injured. As a doctor she should have been the first one to stand up and tell everyone if they feel lightheaded, sick or can't take the heat that they can leave or not participate. What was the goal of this? Mass suicide?

  • Comment removed

  • sweat lodges are a waste of time. "spirits" and "spirituality" is meaningless. only the natural realm exists. stop running from your problems and deal with them, in the REAL WORLD.

  • @lancevancedance if their isnt a thing as spirit why do we die ....or what makes a being think and store knowledge..or how does sperm creates life..WHY DO WE DREAM WHILE ASLEEP..IF YOU CANT EXPLAIN THESE SIMPLE QUESTIONS THEN WHY EVEN WATCH THIS FURTHERMORE, IT TAKES YOU 2BELIEVE IN GOD TO NOT BELIEVE IN HIM O HER BC YOU FIRST HAVE TO THINK OF HIM O HER AND LAST IS YOUR CONCLUSION THAT HE O SHE DONT EXIST..LOL

  • I hate to have to say this...but if you willingly go into any sweat logde or in Europe a sauna where there is any kind of plastic, where you then stay for hours on end and you have not go the back bone to just get up and leave when you begin to feel light headed...then you are asking for something terrible to happen and if you are even paying a fortune for it...then you are a fool! Somehow I find it a bit hard to feel sorry for all those who died...stupidity will get you into trouble!!!

  • This man was a coward. He ought to have taken better care of the people that were devoted to him and would follow him into hell if he lead the way. Hopefully he'll get a lengthy prison sentence.

  • Holy crap! People died? I've been to a sweat lodge before and it was wonderful, it's not supposed to be an experience of suffering. The one I did, if people were uncomfortable, they were allowed to leave at any time. What's this about not being allowed out? I hope this a'hole stays in jail for a long, long time for what he did.

  • I did one sweat lodge many years ago. My overwhelming sense was "this is really dangerous" I left the lodge once to get air, despite strong pressure from the leader to stay in. I will never do another one, and have advised people since of the danger.

  • Fail

  • I get a bad feeling about sweatlodges

  • wow...i have been to a sweat and when i started to feel sick they let me out...at the end of the last round if they was not feeling good why would they stay for the next one?

  • First the whites tried to restrict the natives from following their tradition and culture. Now some whites are wannabe Indians. All whites who try these should have died in the sweat lodge.

  • White people learn a little about other tradition or culture and they try it and fuck up badly. If you white people don’t have a tradition or a culture just fuck in front of a camera which is what you’ll do best.

  • James Ray is a fucker.... not only for being guilty of running something potentially life threatening like a sweat lodge in total ignorant arrogance but for his sleazy, cowardice, run and hide response that showed him up as the integrityless greedy low life bastard that he is. Wow, just wow. Ran away during the hour of need, that HE instigated and encouraged and got PAID for.

  • I have read everything and studied the Law of Attraction for two years and here is my finding. The LOA works and James Ray found out the hard way. He comes across as a fast talker who is trying to cash in on something even though it is true. Each person on the planet radiates an aura out and receives back what they send out. Each of us are Suns in our own universe, what revolves around us is what we attract. James Ray might be better off taking what he preaches more serious in the future.

  • Shame on you James Arthur Ray, I actually believed in your shit and you said everything that occurs in people's lives was because of how they feel. So you telling me 3 of these people felt like dying? This is bullshit, a sweat lodge that small for a big crowed is a joke. You're responsible for this woman's friend's death and 2 others. You telling me you must have imagined or visualized these 2 people dying for this to happen? Either way you're either a con-artist or you visualized them to die!

  • @DrAvesta The answer is yes u retart. It sounds like all these people that were there needed some serious help with their lives. they made the decision to go out into the heat and do that shit. its their fault, it was preeeeeeety much destiny for those low lives.

james arthur ray is the shit, and this is not his fault at all. all he has done is goodness for people

  • @baitscene - Go fuck yourself. Learn some manners. Tough guy!

  • THE PEOPLES TEMPLE, HEAVENS GATE, WACO?

  • James Ray is batshit crazy.

  • Im sorry for the deaths of these people BUT PEOPLE MAKE DECISIONS EVERYDAY THAT KILL THOUSANDS DAILY and no one ever bitches. Unsafe speeds cause more deaths on the highway than anything. Our leaders dont block our speed gauges do they? Nope. And thousands then die daily because of it.. And if you speed at all then you contribute to it. Are you mad about this? I bet not. I dont think most of you have even thought about this........because its not on the news.

  • Sweat lodge ceremonies is not for everyone. The practice needs to stay with the First Nation and kept their. This is a dangerous and far pricey reminder to keep First Nations ceremonial practices left to the Natives. Practice your ancestry religion and be proud of that.. you may be find what your looking for, right in your own back yard.. God Bless...

  • The whole new age woowoo is a steaming pile of turds. All fucking fake shit. Fuck!

  • This guy james ray is all about himself. If you try to state a comment on any of his video's, your statement will be 'pending for approval'. In other words, if he doesn't like what you have to say, then he (or his people) will block your statement.

  • Just to let you know folks, this is not what Natives & native spiritual leaders do. Natives do not die when they sweat. It is an extremely serious matter taken very seriously. Not even I would attempt anything like this, because I wouldn't know what I was doing. The first mistake this man made was putting men and women into the same lodge. Men and women are not supposed to sweat together. Very bad things can happen. Just wanted you to know something about this.

  • This lady looks in terrible shape. It almost looks as if she feels copletely helpless and emotionally raped. Asuming that she is not acting, I find this interview fairly bizarre. I think what we can learn as a society from this is that no guru can empower us beyond the responsibility we are ready to asume for our own lives.

  • was this an actual native sweat?!? Been there! Yeah, the heat was intense! was an amazing expiriance! if it got to be too much, we were told to shout out,"door"!! at that point the door would open and ceremony would stop! i look forewaed to my next sweat! after the last, i felt better than i had in years! physicaly and mentally! so sorry you went in with a hack! sorry for the loss off her friends!! no one dies or even gets ill in a REAL sweat!

  • Let the dead bury the dead. Move on people.

  • stop wasting my fucking time

  • . I was just droping by you're page to say God sent His only begotten Son, Lord Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. He loves you very much. Also, He still saves. Thank you for the add and also for you're time. It was greatly apreciated. :)

  • this is such bullshit!! if you wanna practice theses traditions get a native to help you out...this is nothing like the sweatlodges i attend..sheeesh...and this is no "new-age religion" this has been practiced for thousands of years..u just have to know and understand our ways clearly....

  • @meganklj

    Look at these idiots!

They build a sweat lodge out of what?! Garbage bags!

  • @meganklj Hey What is this religion all about. Like no disrespect just want to know what it is all about

  • @ConsistentSniper ASK A NATIVE AMERICAN ELDER NOT A WHITE MAN..BEING NATIVE AMERICAN I CAN TELL YOU..IT WAS DESIGN AS A CHURCH AS TO A CHRISTIAN AND I ADVISE WHITES IF THEY WANT TO EXPERIENCE A SWEATLODGE DONT GET IT OUT OF A BOOK OR A WHITE MEDICINE MAN..COME TO THE REZ AN SEEK OUT A NATIVE ELDER WHO HAS THE KNOWLEDGE N WISDOM OF THE THE SWEAT BC WHITES DONT KNOW NDNS BC THEY READ BOOKS OR WATCHED JOHN WAYNE,,FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE OF A NATIVE ELDER NOT TEENAGER O YOUNG ADULT NATIVE..AN ELDER..

  • @meganklj I see your a Canadain, Just wandering what your home province is? B.C perhaps? I allways have wanted to attend a sweat but I dont know any Native people...

  • @meganklj Or just don't do it.

  • thank you for speaking, beverly bunn. i agree with the guy just before me, i would just leave regardless of what someone said. people need to always remember: each of us has a mind, and must use it. i appreciate your willingness to help others, both by what you did there and by your bravery in being broadcast.

  • witco wasicu trying to run a inipi....doing it more than four rounds....suppose to cleanse the spirit mind body and pray to tunkasila.....damn i feel bad for what these people went through....

  • thas what happens when the white play with our wayz it's too bad but if u wanted to experince the real deal go find an native 2 run ur sweatlodge

  • a sweat lodge can be a fantastic experience :)

too bad people are just DOING IT WRONG!

    good luck to these people.

  • That's too many people for one lodge. Clearly this man did it for the $.

  • @SuperMario3000 I fucking hate the way this fucking early american news the way he tries 2 ask dumb questions and exaggerations!

  • all new age nonsense is just a steaming pile of catshit.

  • @jamaljamal85 We aren't even real in these people's eyes. If we aren't mascots, then were 'new age stuff'?!? Get real.

  • We all know that this new-age religion ritual is a worthless pile of shit & a scam, and that there's some sort of "distinction" between it and "proper" Indian rituals is also bullshit (other than the deaths). It's all meaningless ritual.

That said - this Harry Smith is a real bullshit interviewer: totally loaded obvious questions. No depth. No tough questions that would give the viewer INFORMATION. Painfully obvious pandering to get her to react emotionally.

  • 6TH round ? what were you all doing? I think you all need to be arrested too.

  • you never do a sweat lodge and dont allow people to leave!

what an idiot, he was rich and had it all, and he blew it.

  • James Arthur Ray, like all of these "new-age gurus", is a scam artist. Yes positive thinking is helpful but only because people who have low self esteem and are pessimistic aren't motivated to get their work done or work on their relationships. There is no magic in this. Stop believing in fairy tales!

  • @DeconstructingGlenn Actually research shows that pessimistic people get better results. It's believed to be a result of the pessimists being more vigilant as to what could go wrong.

Although in this case, of course, that tendency failed the pessimists completely. LOL

  • Clearly many uneducated people about james's work. This report is bias and unfair.Perhaps the gullible ones are those who accept by default what is being said by networks such as cbs,cnn and nbc etc...Spiritual teachers like James are,in my opinion, doing the most important and useful work for mankind today.Els-ware are the true frauds and quacks.

  • Wow! All this alternate treatment new age guru shit is a huge fucking pile of steaming pig feces. People are so fucking gullible. I hate frauds and quacks.

  • 5 million dollar bail should be no problem for this con-artist who charged all these people $10,000 to do a hijacked version of a real Indian

    ritual

  • All my family goes to sweat lodges, I can not believe this fool charged people!! Thats nuts. He was just after there money. I have never heard of someone dieing in a sweat lodge. Rounds only go for 30 or so mins. He was not doing it right, and it was a big lodges, he was more than likely using to many rocks!

  • Wiki: Cultural appropriation

  • ChristopherLaro, you're exactly right, and this sort of crap makes me ill. These are obviously the idle rich; 10K and nothing to do but folllow some pseudo-spiritualist jerk*ff who's pretending that he knows what he's talking about. BTW, does that chick ever shed a real tear after all that huffing and snorting? Mental.

If these people are interested in Native American (or any other) spirituality, they need to go to the actual experts, save their thousands and put it to a real charity.

    Fools.

  • If the guys does not go to jail, he'll certainly lose all his wealth with a ton of lawsuits.

  • Actually if I was Jim Ray, I'd sue THEM for getting sick & dying!

They clearly didn't follow The Secret.

    LOL

  • Follow this secret, you better hide from big Bob your jailmate to be boyfriend. And Jim will have a lot of his own secrets to share, talk about that for the next workshop.LOL, hahah! Yeah! What a disrepectful thing to say about loved ones lost, your one BIG loser.

  • I'm sorry, Moonbeam. I don't speak "gobbledeegook."

What is it about you New Ager toads that makes you guys so incoherent?

Is it the alfalfa sprouts? Or what?

  • ....From your lips to God's ear's. This i pray.

  • Shalom to you, too Mr. Liebowitz.

Now get going. I'm sure you have some foreskin to scissor off or some interest to charge or something.

    LOL

  • If this is meant to be funny,,,,,forgive me, but i missed the punchline entirely.

  • @jollysincere That's ok, Himey. You people are quite good at feigning ignorance when it suits you.

  • ...whaddaya mean, YOU PEOPLE!, you got some nerve!

  • "He abandoned us"

You can't be abandoned when you're ALREADY ON YOUR OWN you stupid fuckin nitwit.

This bitch talks like James Ray was her father or something. There to "protect and guide" her.

And to think, these are the sorts of fucking BOZOS who vote?!

    Jesus fucking christ.

  • And people like you.

  • AMEN!

Crybabes... You didnt see James Raycuz the sheriffs had him contained. He hasnt contacted you as his lawyers have told him the fricking dingbats and tards like yourself are goingto sue him.

    Boo fricking hoo.

oH AND you couldnt get out because he door was closed??? OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR.

  • Moron, take a psychology course. These "new age gurus" psychologically manipulate their followers. It's not hard to do.

You are a cold-hearted prick. The people assumed he was an expert in sweat lodges and it is hard to tell exactly what is going on with your body under those conditions.

  • What kind of stupid fuck would pay ten GRAND to let some asshole cook them?

Too bad the Hare Krisnas didn't get to those fools first. The worst that would've happened was they'd be jumping around in airports handing out flowers.

  • In every inipi (sweat) run by Lakota elders I've been in all you had to say was "Mitakuye Oyasin" and they'd let you leave. We never had vomiting and they'd let people lift up the sides and get cool if they needed it.

  • Aren't most of these new age cocksuckers just greedy fucking crooks?

  • Yup

  • The 'inipi'rite in a tunkan tipi (house of rebirth) is meant for serious native practioners NOT new age junkies in search of miracles. These sweaters and the guru they paid for this idiocy should all go to jail for messing with big medicine ritual. Just another sad example of whites suffering from their own ignorance and lack of reverence for native rites. For all those who conduct traditonal and honorable inipi, let it be known that we who know how to pray to great spirit would never do this!

  • The guy james ray was charged with three counts manslaughter so i doubt he'll be out in 20 years and his millions of dollars wont help him when he is in prison

  • This lady is a bit of a weirdo.

Anyway what a tragedy this is!

  • Law of attraction is sucks ..it's scam...just rip off people's money and emotion...wake up people ..

  • Is spiritualism the new word for "mind bogglingly gullible"?

  • Comment removed

  • @Down564 Dont make comments based on race. You arent a real native american. You are a drunk pretender. Your people are just as lost and stupid as the rest of us. The creator has abandoned you, thats why you are all drunks living on filthy reservations.

  • A sweat lodge should not even be this big to start..is too much of a risk..its just to many people..in my opinion it makes it more difficult to control and to exit if something goes wrong...also this is supposed to be a intimate experience, and it will be more so if the number of participants is not so high.

  • wow this white man needs to go to jail. wtf is a wannabe doing running a sweat lodge. ppl werent sopost to pay for this. this ist some vodoo, this is to be takeing seriously. and look at how big that sweat is. and more then four rounds is insane where i come from. omgosh this man should be put to deat no joke. he makes my religion look bad, freekin white men shouldt be palying indian!

  • I hope that she and everyone else who was there get counseling. J.A. Ray should pay for counseling for everyone who was there, refund their money, and apologize. He should be sued by everyone who was there.

  • Have you ever heard of Chipotleaway?

It gets the blood stains out of your underwear.

  • I'm not watching this video any further. A scene that reminds us of the Jews killed in gas chambers. Disgusting.

  • Ray is becoming the most hated person in America. I think someone will kill him. :)

  • Why would anyone pay $9,000 to a white man to sweat them to death for hours? There is a 5 million death genoice in Congo right now. The selfish shall see there end and cannot take their wealth to hell.

  • Thats a tragic incident that happened a sweat is a place to be cleansed by prayer if anything happens in there the holder of the sweat is suppose to keep the people safe, and let them out if they cant handle it at anytime. the person holding the sweat is 100% responsible please don't be scared of a sweat just find the right person and place. don't pay any money to go into a sweat, just a little tobacco may the creator give evryone just enough hiy hiy

  • Absolutely unbelievable. How anyone with any sort of medical degree would subject themselves to this type of voodoo superstition is beyhond my comprehension.

    Death to all religions!

  • indian medicine should never b played with take this as a dire warning to those who want to play "medicine man/women" for the weekend. if u really want to go to a ceremony find a reserve/reservation[usa]

    anishnabae war-eagle

  • Tragic!

It's clear that one JA Ray must be held accountable & made to pay for his totally irresponsible actions & $windle accordingly. May he NEVER have the opportunity to con another soul ever again.

Dr. Bunn was so brave to agree to this interview ~ bless her & all others who are in pain.

    Love & LIGHT,

    South Africa

  • this is very sad, Im a DINE, people should know THIS IS VERY STRONG PLACE, this is not for a weekend warriors ,this is away of LIFE everyday, every moment, its about being a HUMAN BEING on mother earth, its about being the walking MEDICINE. LADY in this video you should seek a indian medicine man on the rez ,to make this UNDERSTANDING.

  • howcome no one is saying shit about james ray, wasnt he in the fuckin tent? why didnt he get sick? or did he, why the fuck is this story unwrapping so damm slow, did anyone not get sick in there? bullshit reporters, shitty questions

  • They payed to meet the Spirits...sounds like they got their moneys worth.

  • I'm sorry, but I'm a big boy and if I want to leave I will go. Were all of the people in the lodge children that they stay inside to the point of death because someone says they have to stay inside. Grow up.

  • @chrisperry88

you're clueless and , not a big boy. it's not a matter of growing up, the power of group pressure (and trance too in this case) is very strong, and recognized by science (and by any grown up person who has a little brain).

  • this bitch doesnt seem detoxed... back in the sauna beeeeyatch !!

  • It's sad hucksters like this provide such activities with no connection to Native Americans & traditions. Lacking the requisite training, humility & respect, this brings to the public eye something private which comes from specific cultural contexts. The greed, irresponsibility & lack of integrity by those involved fosters further misunderstanding & judgement of Native Americans and their cultures. There will also be blowback for those few non-Natives respectfully involved in such practices.

  • I am an expert on fasting and its affects on the human system. Three days of fasting followed by a buffet, followed by a two hour sweat lodge would be enough to kill anyone. Historically, many others have died from breaking fasts improperly. This is the probable cause of the Sedona deaths. James Ray's callus indifference directly led these people to their deaths. For him to be out huckstering more suckers to his next dog & pony show is the height of arrogance and immaturity! Throw him in jail!

  • Thank you!

  • I'm surprised that nobody, including the doctor, seemed to understand the dangers of being in a sauna-like environment for 2 hours. I can't stay in a sauna for 15 minutes without feeling light-headed.

  • coming from a native, i have so much to say but dont know where to start,

I wish them all well on there path of life ,

this lodge was not preformed correctly and itis strong medicine and not to be fooled with.

i wish you all well and suggest you look for proper guidance and to not give up on the spiritual ways.

  • yaa she's not very articulate for a supposedly educated woman. she's hiding something. it'll come out in court, i bet.

  • @sonderkommando2 Someone said Ray was a womanizer. She kept going on about how "he never contacted us ,all we had was a conference call..." It sounds like someone may have been having a more personal relationship with him and was expecting a personal apologize from her lover....?

  • This woman is PSYCHO!!! She admits to "hanging out" and "having dinner" after all of this bullshit happened??? What the fuck!!!??? I'll bet I could brainwash her into sucking my dick if I give her a "magic penny." People are WHACKO. I don't feel an ounce of pity for her. I only feel sorry for the families of people that get involved with these Jim Jones characters. This bitch needed a shrink YEARS AGO.

  • no doubt.. she is crazy.. wtf is she is talking about , talking about the dinner hall and internet conference after she was almost killed...

  • I was at this retreat and I felt it wasn't nearly intense enough. People did die, but that's because they were committed to full detox. Not because the program was too intense. I lost 41 pounds after 3 hours in the sweat box and 9 hot chocolate colonics.

  • Why hasn't this fucker been arrested yet????

  • There have been many plastic medicine people who have misappropriated our (Native) rituals. This one will pay his bill. If not by imprisonment, the spirits will find him. When a real sweatlodge is performed, no one dies, and many are helped. It is a simple process of cleansing mind, body, and spirit. when used properly, personal benefit is found. Never pay for spirituality, it cannot be bought. this is the lesson left behind for the survivors, and the rest of us who have watched in horror.

  • This guy is an example of all that is wrong with the New Age movement.

  • I feel so sorry for these victims. They've definitely been conned.

James Arthur Ray & his 'movement' is a destructive brainwashing cult like "est" that kept people uncomfortable for long periods (stopped bathroom breaks, etc) to gain control over them. It's an old routine: They break folks down then build them back up with a sense of euphoria. I hope the government will examine Mr. Ray closely. Someone who lets his followers die would do other illegal activities as well.

  • i dislike this interviewer. he is trying to get an emotional breakdown on camera for ratings with someone who has serious trauma instead of getting the facts out. pretty sad to watch.

  • james arthur ray is a devil worshipper like many other new agers. he was performing a human sacrifice to satan during his retreat for more power and wealth. he has made millions of dollars by preying on people desperate for happiness, a sense of spirituality, money, great relationships, etc. and charging them thousands to hear him speak and then do these peculiar, satanic rituals like this mass homicide. unfortunately these people were looking in the wrong place for truth.

  • when a ceremony is conducted in the proper way, by a medicine healer or lodge keeper...no one gets hurt. the lives of others where in his hands and he didn't care about thier safety and if they were comfortable...only about his profit...why would anyone listen to someone who isn't even Anishinabe to teach them of our ways? but Ray the Spirits will find you, u stole, mislead, harmed and killed innocent people... and when your own time has come, your money is Worthless to Creator!

  • Beverly, thank you for your courage to speak out against this jerk. Thats real courage. I think ray sould take a course from you in courage

  • "Ray should Pay" "Ray should Pay" (no sweat)

  • My heart goes out to you. And yet I must provide words of well-intended caution: this yearning to pilfer other Peoples' traditions for personal "enlightenment" is just wrong. People are being unfairly victimized--both my Native people AND the wayward new-age "seekers" who are paying thousands of dollars for fake "shaman" ceremonies. This heartache could be prevented by upholding respectful cultural boundaries, and not commodifying another culture's ways for personal intrigue.

  • He preyed on the weak and where is he now? You have $10,000 he will pop up.

Normal people if it was indeed an accident would be helping out during the crises. Normal people would have contacted the families of the victims. Normal people don't continue like nothing happened after they possibly just killed 3 people. Normal people don't run when they are innocent. His excuse was he had to go meditate over the weekend. What an idiot.

    I can go on.........
