@MrAnimalControl you said you would cap a wolf if you ever see one and i said i bet your just acting tough and that you probabyly dont even own a gun... dumbass
@drdevilz6 Wolves are no more awesome than coyotes. This video is a case and point. If this wolf doesn't decide to leave, the coyotes would have a decent shot at killing him. They always are going for the ass, just the same way the wolves do it to an elk. To me, a wolf is essentially just a larger version of the coyote. Sure, Each have their own distinct behaviors, but there are more similarities than differences. So wolves aren't awesome, they're just bigger little shits.
@dpce86 wow did we even watch the same video? they go for the ass b,c if they go for the neck the would could bite their fuckin head off! even when they wolf was leaving the coyotes were still going after it b,c they wanted to kill the wolf more than they wanted food! coyotes are viscious nasty animals! they have 4 legs and furr thats about the only thing they share with a wolf. Wolfs are amazing animals and verry beautiful coyotes are just nasty!
@bobwatters Both are wild dogs. Wolves are no more beautiful or amazing than coyotes. They compete for the same territory, but wolves almost always have an advantage due to their size. However, in this instance, the coyotes have the numbers to send the wolf packing. Wolves are just as "nasty and viscious" as coyotes. Their techniques for hunting are almost identical, but wolves put more emphasis on pack hunting. Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. Both almost genetically identical too!
@dpce86 if you dont see a diffrence in wolfs and coyotes then thats good for you. the fact is that anyone that has ever delt with the 2 in the wild will know that they are basicly nothing alike! just b/c they hunt in simular ways and fight for territory does not make them the same. coyotes will hold an animal down and eat its guts! a wolf will go for the neck and kill it then eat it. go have fun tryin to domesticate a coyote which has been done to wolfs for centuries!
@bobwatters I've seen domesticated coyotes, and I've seen wolves eat the guts out of animals that are still alive. No differences, except coyotes are probably craftier given the fact that even with the explosion in the human population in the United States, coyote populations and ranges have expanded. Wolves have not been as fortunate.
@joemyersir yeah.. try going after 4 coyotes bare-handed and not running away.. the wolf wasn't a coward.. he was just demonstrating he didn't want to fight... which is the right move.. he's smart
@FireClaw1234 they might have if they would have mounted a good team offensive attack. it appears none are willing to be the one the wolf got ahold of this time around. as for the pet, i can see that happening but pets are considerably more tame and i would assume less agressive until or even after prevoked. i agree though 4-1 odds are not good regardless of size and bite strength. you can tell these are not overly intelligent creaters though. i woulda waited the wolf out if i was them lol.
@FireClaw1234 150lb german sheppard? wow that must have been one fat dog! not to mention a german sheppard has nothing on a wolf! Wolfs are not domesticated and fight for their food daily not to mention their bite force is much much more. comparing a wolf to a german sheppard makes no sense even though german sheppards are good dogs.
Those coyotes are just lucky as hell that wolf didn't have a pack.. Because a pack of wolves would tear the shit out of any pack of coyotes. Hell, I was surprised that wolf didn't go straight for the coyotes throats and just dealt with them, I suppose it knew it was outnumbered and didn't want to take the chance when it knew they were only after it's food..
@Amidat I never said a lone coyote would attack a lone wolf I agree 99/100 times not going to happen I said "Coyotes" and "coyote packs" will attack "a wolf".
The Coyotes, once all 4 are together are so synchronized. Awesome pack behavior- as soon as the wolf turns it's back- a coyote is RIGHT at the rear to take a nip. Excellent video!
@921ifyable actually coyotes do sometimes attack wolfs face to face as you put it but not if they don't need to because as BlueOcean said it is a waste of energy. coyote packs will attack a wolf if it enters their den however and have been known to fight wolves over 'turf' these animals live from meal to meal and need all the energy they have for the next hunt, hunting prey for food is more important than unnecessarily injuring or killing a wolf.
@GGomezndsa - i seriously doubt that a lone coyote would fight a lone wolf - unless it's trying to protect a pup. If there is no pup involved - 99 out of 100 times I would bet (if I was a gambler) the coyote would just ran away.
the thing is none of the coyotes will take him on face to face they continue to circle him so the wolf becomes tired but they wont risk a frontle attack he would tear them apart
@921ifyable Incorrect. Think about it - these coyotes are wild animals who have no medical care or protection from danger like we do. They aren't going to attack the wolf - it is a waste of vital energy which they must preserve to survive. Why would they risk hurting themselves when they could simply drive the wolf away without any physical contact? Wolves are the same. They do not immediately attack foes - they will circle them and try to drive them off.
That is a wolf- very powerful animal. Despite 4 coyottes it didnt care and stood till the end.if i would be a wolf I would chase and kill one of coyottes to teach a lesson to others
This shows how there is strength in numbers. Even against two coyotes the wolf was in an inferior position. Against four he was overwhelmed. In India the coyote-sized wild dog called the dhole travels in packs of up to sixty animals and they have been known to kill adult tigers. They lose a few dholes in the battle but they attack the tiger in a whirlwind of slashing teeth and take it down.
great vid. If I were that wolf I would have chased one of those coyotes till I caught it then taught it a lesson so the other coyotes would know not to mess with me.
Thanks for your nice comment. Checking your videos it looks like you saw a lot of animals as well. I also saw an injured grizzly but it was dragging its left rear paw.
Looks like the Coyotes won. I was hoping for the wolf to kill a few coyotes. :(
stonewall97 1 month ago
@stonewall97 what are you talking about the wolf won he walked away 1-4 thats tough even for a wolf
yagual123 1 month ago
@yagual123 The coyotes won because they drove the wolf away from the dead elk. Now the dead elk belongs to the coyotes.

four coyotes could easily kill a wolf, hell three coyotes recently killed my neighbored 150 pound german shepherd
FireClaw1234 3 months ago
@FireClaw1234 First: Wolves are MUCH stronger than German Sheperd. wolves are heavier and their bite is twice stronger.
Second: a dog lives with humans so their fighting skills almost never improves but wolves are wild. and as you can see wolves are MUCH larger.
