Yep, it has a variable-pitch prop. It allows the pilot to use pith to control the speed of the plane instead using the RPM. This allows her to totally reverse the pitch and fly backwards for short periods of time.

Brushless motors do not have polarity as they are not DC but 3 phase AC. They can be reversed by rephasing any 2 of the 3 sine inputs. Propellors are very inefficient when spun backwards and have a delayed reaction compared to the near instant transition to beta of a variable pitch prop as seen in the video.
