He's one of the best dbl bass players in history. He just has his own style with it. He doesnt play the dududududududududududududududu­dudududududududududud dbl bass that has become so typical with everybody trying to dbl bass. he keps his own dbl bass rythm that he has made his style. God forbid he doesnt sound like evry other drummer in metal

he's not bad, but for being in a band from the size of Metallica he is really really bad, the only album that i actually liked lars drumming was ... And justice for all, and they needed to turn the volume on the drums so the double bass could be heard. and yeah i agree most of old school thrash metal is only dudududududu, be he had to innovate so he could keep up with Metallica somehow, so actually his drumming is a product of mediocrity
