  • Excellent playing !!!

  • This has always been (for the 22 years that I've been a 'RUSH" fanatic) 1 of my fave bass lines by Geddy! You certainly di it great justice. You have real talent on the bass. I've been drumming for 20 years & have most of Neil's drum grooves & fills to muscle memory by now, but your bass skills really shoe here! MOST impressive!

  • crazy and impossibly good! shows geddy's talent, and yours!

  • heh, i did this song for my hsc on bass (y)

  • this is amazing, i play drums and guitar and never realized how friggin serious this bass work is by geddy. Man hes pumping this song out like a machine. good work man i have some serious respect for you, geddy, and anyone who has to play this song on bass

  • does anyone know the bpm on this song?

    any help is much appreciated

  • this song really isnt that hard

  • @toxicfire83 I beg to differ....

  • nicely done man...

  • I like your aggressive attack...very Geddy-ish! Keep it up brother!

  • Awesome, love your bass tone. One quick question, how did you got to singing and bass playing? I'm a bass player and I'm having trouble with singing+bass. Geddy is insane:). Keep up the work!

  • you are facking good

  • Great job man.

  • Awesome. Anybody that can do Geddy gets props!

  • You Are The Bass Man

  • Very impressive job.

  • Fucking kudo's to you man, youv'e got a force field and a flexible plan!!!! Amazing job!!!

  • Just found you. Outstanding! Just phenomenal playing!!

  • Aaaaah, THIS makes the tune sounds MUCH better! Much better than the Steinberger.

  • Aaaaah, THIS makes the tune sounds MUCH better! Much better than the Steinberger.

  • What brand and model of bass is that? It's got n awesome tone.

  • god dam nice job dude

  • perfect cover

  • Wow...nice job

  • solid

  • Thats just simply great playing

  • I like the Steinberger the best;

  • Can anyone upload a slow "showing a beginner the chords" version of Digital Man or Analog Kid?? I really want to keep interested in learning bass this time and would like to slowly play these songs to give me some fire!!!

  • @charlottejamesj dude this song is easy for me now but you should not start out with this song do something easier than most rush songs. i started with red hot chillie peppers then went rush.

  • It does kinda' sound like a Rick, but it's lacking that bitey kind of attack that a

Rick is known for. But I am curious what you're playin' on???? You'll notice on our version of Digi Man....I use my Rick......

  • Digital Man is played on a steinberger dude

  • I thought it was on the jazz bass?

  • He plays a Ibanez SR... not sure what the exact model is, I'm positive it's a soundgear though. Look on his channel for the info... I know Geddy plays this on a Steinberger.

  • It's not all that hard to get the geddy rick sound on a bass like this. Boost mid freqs around the 2000-3000 Hz range, use steel rounds with the action set low for some fret buzz, and a hint of overdrive, and viola, Geddy Rick/Jazz bass tone. I've already done it on my Jazz bass. As long as the tone of the bass has a nice "ring" to it, getting the tone isn't hard.

  • Have you ever tried crushing a brick with your right hand, because you probably could....

    Just sayin...

  • Good job! How do you get what appears to be an Ibanez bass to sound like a Rickenbacher?

  • I love the power of your right hand. Poor strings.

    Outstanding job. Great tone.

  • used to rock this RECORD while playing my atari. love geddy and rush. they are the reason i play bass. great job. thank you!!!!

  • you've got the tone of his bass spot on.

  • Awesome! One of my favourite songs by Rush. I think I'm going to buy a bass just so I can play some Geddy Lee. I play guitar already, but there is something about the power/tone etc. of bass that I just love!

  • one of my favorite bass lines ever! RUSH RULES!

  • fuck yeah dude you rip it up

  • A few duff notes in some of the runs but otherwise a fair attempt.Nice ricky type tone on your bass there!.

  • Dude, this was sweet. This song was my favorite hearing it live in Toronto last summer. The bass line is killer hard. I've tried it. Too hard. You killed it. Just Awsome Man!

  • great job, bro!

  • i have the same bass!

  • very very nice!

  • thank you kindly

  • Wow... Great job. I have been playing this wrong since it came out. I guess my version is close, but yours is on the money. Not for note.. Great job, but a ego crusher... :-<

  • Kick ass bass part, Nice job!

  • well 30+ years of playing and Rotosound RS66 Swing Bass Roundwound strings medium LS/LD gauge. Also I have a bit of fingernail on index and middle finger. But it's real hard to keep nail on those 2 fingers. Posting a redux.

  • how do you get that tone man/? i love the way it sounds and u play this song so perfectly

  • thanks kiddr

  • Sick ass song, sick ass bass... GG

  • My favorite Rush song. Period. Nice job.

  • Nice job, throw up Hemispheres next. Rush's best piece of writing in my opinion. Is that the Ibanez sr series?

  • thanks sgloom

  • amazing playing

  • This was one of my favorites from the snakes and arrows tour.

  • It's a trade secret. SSHHHHH. I won't tell. No. I don't know, I have so many people ask me that. The only thing that I can say is Rotosound Roundwound medium gauge strings and jamming out Rush tunes for 30 years

  • what kind of bass is that and how did you get that tone?? i cannot get the geddy lee tone!

  • thanks lapirata

  • Killer underrated Signals tune. Great job.

  • thanks rorshacks

  • Fricken great! What a complex bass song.

  • thanks antandmatt

  • what a fun song to play and you kicked it....was the 2nd song at the Tweeter Center 7/6...great job

  • thanks cthomas

  • Anyone else notice that Rush seemed to be listening to the Police a lot when they did Signals? Not necessarily this song -- but a lot more "shimmering," held, guitar chords than before.

Awesome base playing. I can't say I like Rush all that much anymore, but that bass playing sure does it for me.

  • o.k.

  • This was the 2nd song of the night, at the 7-2-07 concert at Jones Beach.

  • sweeeeet

  • initially it took me 3 to 4 days to get it together, but I've known how to play it since it's release. i've been playing Rush for 30 years. Thanks also

  • great job my favorite rush song! it sounded great on that bass! nice job. how lon did it take yu to learn that?

  • thanks dude

  • Great bass tone, and a very different Rush song to choose, but a perfect performance.

  • I don't know? Combination of things I use rotosound roundwound strings, and the action is quite low on my Ibanez

  • How do you get that tone?

  • yea. thanks armor

  • Wow, what a fantastic job learning this great Rush tune! You nailed it doood! No better bass lessons than learning Rush songs

  • thanks rally

  • Yeah man, a very nice woody Rickenbacker buzz. Honestly I wish Geddy would pick up the old dinosaur, the Fender Jazz sounds so tinny by comparsion. Great job!

  • I was at the Atlanta show on 6/13 and Geddy actually broke out the Rickenbacker to play A Passage to Bangkok during the encore. Just do a search for it and there is a video of Passage to Bangkok from West Palm Beach last week and you can see it. It won't let me post the link in here for some reason..

  • Sure thing dude.

  • I like your tone man. Thanks for posting your rendition of my favorite Signals song.
