@DevakiPolaris I was in a Sherrifs program before all of this happend and we did a study on women vs men when it comes to child molestation. 99% of the men when confronted with the charges confessed, 99% of women did not confess; even after they were convicted. The specialist told us it was because our society refuses to believe that women are capable of evil; even amongst women themselves. Which is why women will not admit the truth even when facing all the facts. Interesting stuff.

Courts in Canada have an even placed even more restrictive regime in place for holding false accusers accuontable. Firstly, there is an automatic publication ban if the complainant requests it. This ban is not lifted and her identty is never revelaed, even if she is convicted of public mischeif (making a false police report) or perjury. Moreover courts have limited civil liability in fear that it would discourage the reporting of sexual assault.

@phillyxxx its not that simple. as a criminal justice major i can justifiably say it was more then likely her first offence. purgery (The deliberate, willful giving of false, misleading, or incomplete testimony under oath) is a minor felony which is at maximum only punishable for up to a year. she pretty much got maximum. i know this sounds like complete bullshit but that's the way the law was written.
