Hi. Do you take requests? Wondering what part of Germany the good chef is from. I have ancestry in two areas of Germany. A little town called Wolfstein, north of Kaiserslautern, and to the east in Saxony. Can't be more specific than Saxony, cuz that's all I know about that side. I know Germany probably has different regional flavors, I'd be interested to hear his ideas about dishes from these areas. Thanks!
@whoareyou2me - Chef Uwe is from the Northern part of Germany. Send me an email with this request. My email address is Inga at GermanDeli dot c o m (system won't let me type my email address straight out).
@Moralvorstellung7 - Not entirely sure. Are you thinking of Schaschlik? Schaschlik can be made from various meats including liver. I'm just guessing that is what you may be thinking of.
I really miss living in germany now :( miss all the food! i miss the little german lady in reál? i think its called that used to give me and my sister free sausages aha :')
i used to eat this all the time at my local austrian resteraunt. but i never knew it was weiner schnitzel. and the austrian owners were so nice. i miss that place
Great video I love how you make the commentary lively and yet stay on topic. I only have a quick question the spice packages used in the video are only available in Germany? Please answer great dish once again!
@ricardoCODlandivar - you can order these packets from our online shop located in Texas. The website is GermanDeli (links are listed below the video in the written description "Show more". You tube won't allow a link to be posted here, so just go back yo this video and look for the info there.
@aklausmann Only for candian people ;-) take escalope of veal. You need a little salt, very small breadcrumbs, flour and eggs. cover the veal completly with the flour. break the eggs and beat them with a fork like you do it with scrambled eggs. now dip the floured veal with both sides into the eggs. And then dip it ´with both sides into the breadcrumbs. Originally (not a must) it should be fryed with clarified butter. After frying it refine it with salt. That's it. Best wishes from germany.
@eatthecakeify - Veal is the #1 and most traditional meat to use. #2 is pork ( typically pork loin or, less commonly, pork tenderloin) # 3 Is poultry (chicken or turkey breast) and #4 would be some form of game meat, like venison. I hope this is helpful.
@ralphp1800 Use veal and do everything Chef Uwe does except , instead of dredging the veal cutlets in the seasoning mix, dredge the flattened cutlets in flour; then in an egg wash (scrambled eggs diluted with just a little water); and then in breadcrumbs seasoned with salt, pepper, and a touch of paprika (optional). The rest of the instructions are the same.
@1TopGunPaintballer - Yes. You'll love this dish! If your mom does not have the season packets, the schnitzel can be made by first, dredging the flattened cutlets in flour; then in an egg wash (scrambled eggs with a little water); and then in breadcrumbs seasoned with salt, pepper, and a touch of paprika (optional).
@hansvonbroskie - Please phone our customer support staff - the phone number is posted on our website GermanDeli (dot c o m). Sorry I hesitate to post the phone number on YouTube. Not sure if the toll free # will work. If not, try 817 410 9955 You can also email support at GermanDeli dot c o m
@Samoutuomas Unfortunately we are unable to ship to Finland. :-( We import our goods to Texas from Germany and we ship throughout the USA and to Canada.
MMM, I'm just eating some wiener schnitzels with sliced potatoes :)) Me and my old pa' love these... Gotta try to make some myself! Greetings from Finland!
@Samoutuomas Greeting from Texas. Our store is located in Texas. Some of our employees are originally from Finland. We import our goods to Texas from Germany and we ship throughout the USA and to Canada.
@alexflum The reason we made this video is because people asked how to use the package mix, which is widely-used in Germany but less so in the USA. The package Mix cuts out a couple of messy steps (flouring and egg wash) and so many people use the mix (Knorr Fix) because it is easier and less messy.
@Samo762 - right you are. It really is an Austrian specialty. In Germany I often see it listed as "Schnitzel nach Wiener Art" [Schnitzel, Austrian style]. The Chef' is featuring a German product by Knorr that we sell in our online store that specializes in German groceries. Knorr calls it "Fix fuer Wienerschnitzel". So, while the dish is all Austrian, the product is from Germany. Either way, traveling to Austria or Germany means Wienerschnitzel.
@aklausmann - start with a dish of flour, a dish of eggs scrambled with a little milk, and a dish w fine breadcrumbs, seasoned with salt, pepper, & dried parsley flakes (optional: add a little onion and/or garlic powder, but watch out not too overdo because those flavors can overwhelm the dish). Dip the veal in the flour, then the egg, and then the breadcrumbs...then proceed as Chef Uwe shows. Served with lemon wedges...the lemon makes it taste especially yummy. The Mix is a step-saver.
gut, wie Sie sehen, es ist lecker, in der Nähe, es wird auf meinem Teller werden. Wenn ich nur für die Zutaten zu jagen. der Wüste In London sieht nackten!
Yes...I agree....fantastic video. I have to get this mix. It looks so easy and I love Wiener Schnitzel. Thanks Chef Uwe. I also appreciate the printed menu under "more info".

well actually Wiener Schnitzel is Austrian... the name means "Viennese schnitzel" in german (Vienna or Wien is the capital of Austria)
Im aware that as a german (at least sounds like :) the chef knows that but the title "german food" makes me kinda wonder
germanic food maybe? that sounds odd :P

looks wunderbar!, but I'm wondering if the seasoning mix has MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in it? does it?
ChaosButterfly8 1 year ago
@ChaosButterfly8 - MSG-free. The German producers have been turning their backs to MSG over recent years.

@GermanDeliMarketing MSG makes me puffy and Aspartame gives me a headache. Nice to see fewer MSG items. Now I can try this recipe!
ChaosButterfly8 1 year ago
@ChaosButterfly8 - I agree, fewer MSG products will probably benefit us all. I bet many people are sensitive to MSG and don't even realize it.
