Audio Techinica ATH-M50 - half the price, twice the sound quality. Denon AH-D2000 - Similar price and sound to the Beats, much better bass, and the sound quality is leagues above. Sony MDR-XB500/1000 - If you want bass, holy fuck these have bass. Skullcandy MMM - Kind of a dark horse, Skullcandy FINALLY produced a good headphone with this. There are many others of varying tonal balances, but I picked the bass-y options, since the average consumer seem to love bass.

Oh if only you people knew...Beats are not the pinnacle of sound, nowhere close, and for what you pay, you could be getting something truly spectacular. Monster always does this, they've always been notorious for making mediocre products that cost an arm and a leg. A $100, ordinary HDMI cable, for instance. Look up some background on Monster if you don't believe me. The Beats aren't that bad, but they're horrendously overpriced. Next comment I'll give a few cans that outdo them.

@briten12345 I've used these before, so I could answer your ?. The headphones on this video are the "old models" the ones in stores are the newest models (hence, they are a bit "better").

Now to answer about how is it with dubstep: I, personally, think they work perfect for dubstep. Especially since the bass in these headphones is phenomenal. However, everyone has their own ways, some may be picky and say no it sucks for them, others, like me, say its mind blowing.

@emokehd I got the solo hds used off of amazon because I heard the sound quality is much better with the solos. Also, idk about getting solos refurbished because they may not work properly. For $20 more you can get them in great quality used from the amazon warehouse. Hope this helps!

I bought these yesterday and when i tried them with the cable that has the volume controls on them, i could clearly hear that something was wrong. i then treid them with the other cable and it was fine, so i then knew that the cable with the volume controls was broken. So today i went on got my money back, and thought about how stupid i was to buy these for 200€. long story short - DO NOT BUY THESE, NOT WORTH THE PRICE !

@TheNextTorres9 my cable was the same way, but monster sent me a free cable when i called their number. the regular cable was fine, but 2 days into using the control talk cable, it just barely worked, the slightest movement would cause the end connected to the headset jack to disconnect internally. but like i said the regular cable was fine. i think the gold tip on the control talk cable was damaged
