  • @jthunder73 As you said the video "is not proof or evidence of a trinity".

The problem you have with this analogy is that if you took a pot of water, froze it, then boiled it to produce steam, it cannot be all 3 at the one time.

All this does is help explain a doctrine that cant be found in the bible in the first place.

If you accept what the bible teaches about the person of God you would not need these type of analogies

The Father is God. Jesus is his Son. Holy spirit is his power. SIMPLE

  • I have used the ice/water/steam illustration before. This is a good rendition of that truth.

  • That is helpful, but the problem is, it is modalism, which is a heresy. A much more Biblical and helpful idea when talking about the Trinity(imho), is understanding the Father, His word/reason (Logos, a biblical title of Christ), and the Breath(Heb. and Gr. words mean both). A man's word and his breath/spirit are one and inseperable with him, yet distinct. Ps 33:6.

  • Well, quite frankly, a person can find flaws in most illustrations. Illustrations simply help us to grasp what we can not see. I wonder how easy it would be to discount even Jesus' illustrations by critical thinking. Don't ask me to do it. :-)

  • Good analogy, but I don't know that it fits. If the holy spirit was 'created', then it can't be god, because god is uncreated and eternal. Same with Jesus, so the father is still the only god.

  • Ok that was FREAKING AWESOME!!!

  • That was THE best explaination I've ever heard for that. Because of this, I can't say that I'll ever be able to ridicule the idea again.

Love watching your videos, even if I disagree with most of them! LOL!

  • I have to say that this analogy is an illustration to your point, extremely well done. Though I'm not a religious person, you seem to have the talent to express your thoughts on this matter. BTW...it's a breath of fresh air, if you know what I mean.

  • I love the new direction you have headed into with these and the photoshop videos. These are really great. Good job P. Javid.

  • Interesting analogy. I'm not sure I agree 100%, but then... nobody completely understands the Holy Trinity. I believe more along these lines... that God is a Spirit, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit occupies these three offices; the Father, the Son (God became flesh) and Himself as Spirit.

    Genesis

  • Interesting look at it - sadly - all our best analogies fall apart in the fullness and the true magnificence of God - not that you need to hear this - but the Son was before creation - and the Holy Spirit existed before the cross and without the heat (sin) - still - you've demonstrated something that is three different things that are the same... an easy illustration of something difficult to grasp... GBU

  • I haven't watched this yet, I just got here. Yet, seeing those shoes in the thumbnail I believe that you are going to make an analogy of shoes and the Trinity. What this brings up in my mind is the greatest defense on the Trinity that I have heard. One man but two shoes is not the man but rather connected to them when he uses them. Just like Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not God yet only his shoes that he uses when needed. I am going to watch it now but that's what ur thumbnail put in me head.

  • My friend was signed into her account last when I made that comment. I hate that. I thought those were shoes. I don't know what they are. I think 1:46 is what you made the thumbnail now. lol

This is more indepth than my analogy. A good explanation and demonstration Javid. :=)

  • cool idea, one can absorb the idea alot easier!

    great job pastor j

  • Awesome analogy brother!!!! great way to explain the trinity!!

    God Bless

  • You have some awesome intro music, and this was an awesome illustration of the Trinity. I hope that unbelievers will come to the understanding of it, cuz you have made a very clear illustration of it:)

  • awesome =) As for us getting together......... things are pretty booked till we fly on monday. What about Sunday evening? Or saturday evening late?

  • I love this analogy. Have heard it many times. But never demonstrated.

    God Bless

  • Yeah it has been around for a long time.

  • Well best analogy there is IMO

  • well done!

  • thank you!

  • oh javid, i like you, so i will spare you how silly that was on so many levels. poetic analogy, but it holds no water (snicker)

  • Yeah like I said, just a was of showing how and why. "holds no water" LOL

  • When I go to a family reunion I can set in a room with less than 3 people. In that room I would be defined as Father, Son and Husband. You could add a few more people Then I would be brother, uncle and, cousin. It all depends on the perspective from which I am viewed. I think God works the same way only on a lot bigger scale. God Bless.
