  • Whether scripted, semi-scripted or unscripted, amateur, pro or pro-am, for a sport that was pretty much considered dead in 1990, if Rat City and KeyArena can draw 10,000 to a match, that will surely send a clear signal that roller derby, in any form, is back and here to stay. It has been a very long time since arenas of that size (10,000+) filled to capacity on a regular basis for roller derby matches.

  • And next year (2011), at the KeyArena, could bring forth an attendance number that hasn't been approached since the days of classic roller derby: 10,000. This is a number you'd probably expect at the Garden, but the last derby match to be held at MSG was December 12, 1987, and I don't know if they drew 10,000 when the IRSL shut down that night.

KeyArena's lower oval there holds around 7,700. If Rat City draws that many, they'll have to open up the upper oval to get 10,000.

  • I took that shot!

  • Someone please tell me where i can find 0:57. My friend and I would love to have it as a desktop background.
