Been a Phan ever since hearing the album The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday when I was about 7 or 8.....I'm 27 now, and Phish, along with the Dead and Widespread and String Cheese have been the positive vibes I have needed to hold myself in line as far as social interaction. I was away for a while when they split, but I'm looking forward to getting back on the train, possibly July in Charlotte or Raleigh. Greetings to all my fellow kind heads in cool threads here on youtube. Peace.
wish they would go off longer after the vocals.... i could walk through forests and possibly smile at sarah palin at the space-iality of this ear honey. what a band
I find it funny that all of the band's early song lyrics were stolen from poetry written by the village idiot in Plainfield, Vermont when the guys were going to Goddard College! BTW they never paid the guy for them!
I would say he rreminds me of Jerry for this reason: His music is good, but his over-the-top hippy dippy fans try to portray at as something far greater that what it is.
If it weren't for copious amount of marijuana and LSD, the crowd would fall asleep after the first hour.
@dillon1278 thats a good head start. I wish someone told me how good Phish was when I was your age. I had to break through the barrier of crappy mainstream pop and realize on my own what actually sounded good.

by my estimation i've seen this song live 75-100 times , including this version of course. man what a pathetic waste of time. i guess it could be worse (meatstick). kids, if you didn't see the phish in 95 or before , oh well.
It was a bunch of hillbilly crap and hard rock cover songs. Bored to tears. No one had ever heard of them at the time....and there was a good reason for it.
I've been listening to the Grateful Dead non-stop for a full year and wanted to give Phish a shot, and if all of their other songs are as good as this, than damn! They are great!
this is one of those songs that gives you that weird unexplainable feeling of happiness and buttterflies in your stomache. or maybe I'm just a nutcase haha
i think i might throw up before i see them at camden in a few months. sheer excitment! they're back and i couldnt be happier. it's like a long lost love has come back.
i'm sooo glad that they put out a pre-2000 show on DVD for once. Their energy was much better and they were having much more fun, which makes it more fun for the audience
Plus camera work at concerts was so much better in the '90's. In this DVD the camera will actually stay on one person for 1:00+, while on something new you're lucky to get 15 seconds
@BassBeast42 Def man. I wouldn't mind the camera being on Trey's fretboard for an entire show. Better yet, Page's keys on one screen, one on trey's hands, one of mike's hands, one of Fish's set from top view. 4 screens, 1 for each, showing their every musical move haha. I can dream right? Peace man.
@BassBeast42 Well you have to understand that we have an amazingly clear picture of the suppression of the protests in Iran last summer due to cheap video technology also. I mean, with the democratization of data, you're gonna get about the same amount of people who would save up for years for nice equipment and who really care about what they are producing while you suddenly get an explosive abundance of film that captures just basic information with little care for its artistic merit.
I was at the show and remeber it fondly

That's just ridiculous, there are plenty of phish fans that don't use drugs.

Right, marijuana keeps a person awake for sure. It definitely doesn't have any sort of sleep effect.

His guitar lines are so kaleidoscopic! Just like Jerry's!
Gawd if Jerry, Trey, and Warren Haynes could all three jam, my soul would explode.
