  • q.ite like zen arc shooting ..

    deepn in one point ..

sinking down like a stone to the ground of a q.iet and deep and clear pond

  • Yeah...she has great insight through here own development "issues" It's ironic because she's actually an incredibly wise person because she's listens and learns first, then reaches conclusions. Autism is a disorder, not a developmental issue, and that's something that took a lot of people a long time to know the difference between. If more people thought like Grandin, our world would be a much much better place. It's a good thing Zuckerburg heads Facebook...he is of the same mind :-)

  • It's shown in the movie that the reason she tried the squeaze shoot was that she had a sign on the door to a room her aunt had her stay in when she was staying there on her aunt's farm when she was preparing for her college years. The thing was the maid came in and opened the window, causing a breeze to blow the sign off the outside of the door. That was the idea for the squeaze machine she made on her first day of college, but people thought she made the first one for sexual use.

  • Cool lady

  • I don't understand why she can't see factory farming as problematic in and of itself

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer - maybe just because...she's autistic?!

  • @maccumeda obviously. I'm glad she improved things within the system, but the entire system is shit.

  • @SuperAnimalDrummer Maybe is up to you for that to get fixed, and be an inspiration as well.

  • temple grandun is awesome. Im an aspie myself

  • I'm an Aspie and but I don't like Zuckerberg, he took all the money and cheated out his friend. That's why I'm considering leaving Facebook in protest.

  • Amazing, she's very fascinating.

  • She rocks! xx

  • Wow this lady just adopts someoe elses beliefs. Like i would understand if it was an aspect of her life, but she governs her whole life this way. THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD LIVE, just WOW

  • I have high functioning aspergers when my parents couldnt understand me temple grandin kind of explained my life if that makes any sense.

  • I wish I grew up in the 40s or 50s. I think life would have been simpler.

  • @yeahtoast2011 Are you white, male, Christian, and not disabled? Because they were really the only ones who had it good in the '40s and '50s.

  • She is just simply amazing I look up to her :)

  • Aspie cow girl that hates reality tv, he he he. Temple is awesome.

  • Temple is my role model- if she can use her autism to good causes, then so can so many others :)

  • I just love Temple - she is my icon

  • awesome video here she is amazing temple grandin is simply amazing with what she is teaching to people

  • shes right the shows are horrid and I loved her movie.

  • This woman is amazing! I watched the movie and hadn't even known who she was. I can't believe they don't teach about her in school! She is incredible!

  • where can I watch all of this?

  • He leans into her so much and every time he does she leans further back in her chair. Clearly he does not understand space issues with Aspies.

  • he's 100% right......Mark Zuckerburg is absolutely on the spectrum!

  • @aussiemumism Forgot my s....She's 100% right... As a mum of an austic son, Temple is an inspiration!!!

  • This woman has a really bad habit of saying that almost all historical inventors were autistic without anything more than anecdotal evidence.

  • @N330AA In her defense, I don't think that an autistic diagnosis has ever been made with any more than anecdotal evidence (eg. DSM-IV). Maybe Temple is just an odd old woman with a PhD and an unusual style of dress who rode the Autism bandwagon to fame and fortune... Also, Einstein may have been having a bad hair day ;-)

  • @ScooterMcBean Yes all people who are clever and have daft hair must be Autistic. Heck, that makes me Autistic.

  • shit its a chick

  • Awww Temple you are wonderful!!! Everyone is learning from your stories...thank you for sharing!!

  • Thank God for her! She is helping so many people who are just a little different - or a great deal different from others. I love her word "neurotypical". It shoud be added to everyone's dictionary. We all experience the world differently. We learn differently. I had a long, difficult haul through school because of some of these issues. People with even the mildest form of this disorder fight against being called stupid all the time. She is so right!

  • She's mesmerizing to listen to.

  • Simply fascinating.

  • I'd highly recommend her book, "Thinking In Pictures"--the book that the movie was based on. I have such huge respect for Dr. Grandin!

  • I WATCHED AND LOVED THE MOVIE IT WAS REALLY GOOD AND VERY INTERESTING!!

  • I have aspergers to me it is a case of ying and yang. As a child i was probably like dennis the menace. People are equaly smart, each person just excels and lapses in diferent areas. As i got older i became a social interaction sponge. I love learning how people behave and interact. But for me to be social i have to conciously revise these things. I hate when people don't like me just because i forget to be social. I am not a bad person just forgetful

  • George Stroumboulopoulos is a great interviewer.

  • I LOVE this woman! She gives everyone hope.

  • Alberta boys who have ear infections and medical neglect don't talk. Children who are abused sometimes don't talk. Children attacked by investigative and preventative apprehensions are laboring under a racist political hostage taking and munchhausen's by proxy assault by Alberta Children's Services. Terrorizing children, Alberta attacks children 's health. Incentives and requests for cover up and civil rights violations allow removal of religious educational and health decisions from parents.

  • Fascinating.

  • Thumbs up for Temple Grandin!

  • SHE IS SUPER COOL!!

  • i've become convinced that people with "disorders" are here for a reason. their purpose is unique and shouldn't be minimized or "cured."

  • @Ecosse57 i've read about scientist who said the reason the autism gene survived is as you say "their purpose is unique" so instead of getting left behind they got recognition for being what they were ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @Ecosse57 My point is; disorders don't exist at all. It's all about what gets to live or not. Survival of the fittest, more or less. If autistic/adhd/smart people are the ones that will get humanity forward, then believe me, we'll all be begging to have their babies in a few decades.

Just think about, being fat was associated with ferility, being rich and wealthy not too long ago. When food wasn't plenty available as it is now.

    I'll say it again.

    Disorders don't exist.

  • @Ecosse57 i dont really think theyre here for a reason... i just think some people are born different......

  • Temple you´re amazing !

  • I`ve been intrigued with Temple ever since I watched the movie with Claire Danes. She`s so inspiring and I`ve learned a lot about animal rights and autism by watching her.

  • Amazing woman. Since my son was diagnosed with autism, I have read several different books about the subject and the one that I recommend the most is by Temple Grandin titled "Thinking in Pictures". Great insight and highly informative! Thank God for Temple Grandin.

  • An inspiring woman.

What she says about the dreadful values transmitted by shows like 'survivor' etc. is so true and important

  • She is fantastic.

  • @Counterbrilliance That was a disgusting comment, Temple is an amazing person who DESERVES more than this! I don't know how anyone could say anything so low!

  • I think they might have been referring to her intellect as sexy.....

  • @thegogogoats Unfortunately this female is part of the "reality tv" generation. She's 21 and seems to hate herself with a name like counterbrilliance. Wonder if she realizes it's an oxymoron. She cares more about non-talented teen pop stars then genuinely great people contributing to the world in a positive way,

  • @thegogogoats Everybody is entitled to an opinion... besides, I think that Counterbriliance`s "Justin Beiber" reference clearly demonstrated that the post was subtly tongue-in-cheek.

  • @Counterbrilliance Shut up. The only retarded one here is you. Temple is a very incredible and smart person.

  • I think she's dead sexy

  • Ahhhhhhmazing!!!! So brilliant.

  • Just watched her film....I am very amazed about what she archieved in her life as an autism person. And if you listen to her, she doesnt even sound as a autism person. Wow.........a big respect to her

  • George Stroumboulopoulos is an awesome interviewer....I like that he's not in some suite and tie sitting behind a desk...his attitude and body language put people at ease.

  • @chestercooner He really is a fantastic interviewer, but he didn't have to do too much here. Temple had her bullet points and she was hitting them all.

  • My son is 10 and has aspergers. He watch the movie and was glued to it. Most of the time if it isn't about Spider-man or PS3 or a Pixar film, you can't get him interested. But he was really engaged in what was going on in the movie and her life.

  • @ErichoTTA i have Asperger's 2 she is also a very inspirational person and also a great influence on me as well :)

  • sounds like everyone is autistic

  • i cant wait till friday this is gonna be an awesome interview

  • I have Aspberger's myself and she is a great influence to me.

  • Wow. One of my heros.

  • I Love Her.

  • Temple, you and you family are great! Thank you so much for all you are teaching us.

  • Strombo shows his interviewing chops by offering a few key questions and letting Temple Grandin speak her piece. Good interview and a fascinating interviewee.

  • 1:39 "That's so gay!"

  • Thank dog she can communicate and thereby share her insights and genius with others.

So many are denied even that seemingly fundamental aspect of human interaction and development due to a minute difference in their chemistry.

We have an almost limitless horizon of work to be done to even begin to understand the workings of the brain.

  • She is a fantastic person.

  • claire danes did such an amazing job in this movie. i've been around autistic people for a long time, and this woman is truly amazing.

  • what a fascinating person.

  • I have just started reading Animals in Translation. Cool!

  • She is an amazing human being..It`s really cool to see her on a show talking aout herself & her views... Definitley have to check out the rest of the interview,..

What an interesting person, big high five to the hour for putting her on..

  • so great!

  • lmao Mark Zuckerberg dosnt need to invest..he has over 6 billion bucks... man makes money of intrest just sitting there

  • @damianson "invest his money into socially good things" not just make more money

  • @damianson the interest comes from banks investing his money into stuff =o

  • No way temple grandin wow! Can't wait to see this tonight. Thanks George!

  • @AimeeViolette Not quite tonight. "For the full interview watch George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight ON Friday January 21st 2011 at 11:05pm." I wish it was tonight though, because it would save me a lot of time waiting for it lol.

  • @NoNamesLeft0102 aww crap, that sucks...but I can't wait!
