  • Lou should have recorded an album with Pete instead of Metallica.

  • @LedZeppelinZaku1 Lou Reed with Pete Townshend is a winner.

  • alsjdhaflk i am obsessed with both of them this video is magic

  • It would have been nice to see these two greats do a Townshend song or two as well.

  • The old farts are having as much fun as this old is having watching it

  • Two Lyrical masters jamming together..awesome !!

  • This song sounds really good acoustic

  • i wanna bake cookies for lou reed. cause hes so badass.

  • i feel privlegded to watch this..... and no i can not spell.

  • " 'cause I'm better than Jack!", Love Pete! Jack's cool too!, but respect yer elders!

  • How I would love to see these two play the entire New York album together. So many of the songs are perfectly structured for a simple acoustic arrangement.

  • Par de viejos más secos.

  • wow, lou @ 1:53

  • @ljqzkw

    lol at your face, bitch

  • Is that Fabio Capello singing?

  • Pete is The Man

  • Can't anyone just think Lou, Pete, and Jack are all great guitar players?

  • Love pete

  • Although I love Pete's rhythm playing, I don't think this is a very good example.

  • is there an audio download of this??????????

  • i love pete's acoustic style, its one of a kind

it mixes sort of flamenco with rock n roll

  • they both should shoot some song would be better

  • Pete's acoustic sound kinda makes this song reminiscent of The Who's "Join Together"

  • It's that Eddie Cochran influence with the flagelettes.

  • Pete can relate to this song cause he used to be a speedfreak too :)

  • Man I had to watch this a few times. Definetly a great performance.

  • pete's rythmic guitar style is unique, on the acoustic maybe is even better than the electric

  • in a world filled with heavy death metal, crappy pop songs, and aging rock icons, jack white is here to make it all a little better

  • Well I can agree to an extent but I happen to appreciate some pop is ok for me and I like some death metal especially technical Death metal with jazz influences. And music has much more to offer then that you maybe simply favor a era too much to see what these times have to offer. I admit it isn't great for me in to the full extent but some musicians of today are very unique and don't sway to the hold of industry influence.

  • i love lou. and pete is better in every way than jack.

  • Sounds like unrehearsed improv but it is kinda like that time when Odin met Zeus. Too much respect for either to make a move. Maybe the torch has been passed to Jack White now. He deserves it. Whatever, Rock will go on.

  • pete townshend is a rock n roll god. jack white however, is our generations savant/savior and he probably doesnt even know it yet. jack white will be remembered as one of the most influential and talented guitarists/artists in american musical history. they both rock so hard. you cant even compare them.

  • @aulrich Bet he wishes that he should have dumped the old PC when McNacker of the yard came a'callin. Luv it especially since we all been so down on Gary Glitter. One law for one etc et al. Luv to all XX

  • Who gives a fuck? Just enjoy it!

  • I suspect those so in support of Jack White here are younger, and they like to prop up someone from their generation. While Pete Townshend is much older than me I can see the difference between Pete and Jack. Mr. White is a serious talent without question, but Pete leaves a remarkable legacy by any standards and is right up there with Jagger/Richards, Lennon/McCartney, Bob Dylan, Ray Davies and Brian Wilson.

  • From the album "the Who Sellout" onwards Pete Townshend has been a guitar virtuoso. Pete today is arguably as good as he's ever been, he just seems to get better with age However he's also been one of the best single songwriters and a damn good singer as well. He's one of rocks true greats. In twenty years let's see if history has been so kind to Jack White.

  • "Pete today is arguably as good as he's ever been, he just seems to get better with age" - i agree.

  • I hope you're kidding, I DO hope you are

  • You think Townshend is a better guitarist at 65 than Jack????....you don't hear the jealousy in that comment???"I'm better?"WTF is that?...Pete sees a younger, better looking, better guitar playing rock star in Jack White...yes, Pete is perhaps the most prolific and talented songwriter ever....BUT, he really isnt known as a guitar virtuoso...I just saw the Raconteurs in Las Vegas....Jack White fucking blew my mind hes such a great guitarist...you have no idea man...

  • No, I don't hear jealousy, I just hear Pete Townshend joking innocently. Look, if being a great guitarist is all about technique and virtuosity then Steve Vai might as well be the best guitarist in the world. Jack White is generally okay, but tiresome and boring when you've been hearing him for more than 15 minutes or so. Pete Townshend would have blown him off the stage when he was at his peak with just half of Jack's technical skill.

  • Yeah, Pete's a real thrilling guitar player...Go see a Raconteurs show....you won't regret it....

  • PS Steve Vai sucks....

  • ahhhh!!! im glad Lou still has a voice!

forever and ever, Long Live the Punk and Godfathers of ROCK!!!

  • who in this case would be the punk and which would be the godfather? they're both pritty damn revolutionary and kind of punk founders.

  • I love how Lou and Pete's guitar playing is so distinguishable.

  • The Velvet had reached such a unique sound that anything in comparison looks feable and too gentle. Lou Reed himself has never after the VU adventure been able to recreate that sooooooo nasty sound (no one has in fact :-). Nevertheless I find that version nice and anjoyable. These guys know what they're doing that's certain. Even if the thrill is not there...

  • Although I don't like the rendition of this song, it blows my mind to see these two legends together! I thought I'd never see them share the stage.

  • the punk meets the godfather, indeed!

  • Good line!

  • Great, great , great!!! thankx racethebreeze, the vid is so cool.

  • rock and roll animals unite

  • hello! i just made a video for the Velvet Underground using this song. also..if you like the Who (i looooooooooove them) i have 2 videos for them. check it out!

  • Sweet!

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
