I was never saying that Avril was nothing because she was popular a few years ago but now she isn't as much and I think that's because female artists today are really different to her style and it seems as if Avril's trying to catch up by ditching her 'tomboy' image and being all sexy. Maybe she wants to do that or maybe she's being made to do that to sell records..who knows?

Sorry to intrude, but im over 11 n I listen to both Rihanna and Gaga and I'm not askamed they're good artists, I also listen to Avril... because just because you like one artist or type of music doesn't mean that's the only thing you can listen to. Gaga plays most of her songs on the piano and last time I checked that was an instrument. I can think of plenty of credible, talented, current artists who write about all subjects...Adele, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, John Mayer...each of these are different genres and prove my point.

Rihanna also sings about lots of different things and if she wants to sing about sex then why shouldn't she? Because some prudes don't agree? Don't listen then.
