I almost always tune in some version of a well-tempered tuning, usually a sixth-comma tuning or something derived from one.

In the case of the Couperin recording, it was made spontaneously (a student came into my studio with some recording equipment and asked me to play through the Couperin prelude), so I don't really know what tuning was on the instrument at the time.

The harpsichord is a Taskin 1769 model made by my brother Keith Hill (Manchester, MI/USA)
