  • Aw yeah Chad lost a drumstick!!

  • luv this shit , and im a original funkateer from the 70s

  • Funkadelic Rules !!!

  • DIG IT PEPPERS!! As a musician who does covers every now and again.. the point isn't always to make your version EXACTLY like the original... a lot of times its the exact opposite. That's the beauty of music and having the ability to make a song your own.. Plus do you honestly think the originators of the song are impressed by people doing their song the EXACT SAME WAY FOREVER? Where's the creativity in that????

  • 1:50 look at chad :D

    ps : t'as dit "la toune". T'es canadien ? tabarnak !!

  • its the singer crazy, everywhere if i hear this melody i go wild Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • well they are paying respects to the man who gave them their record deal, george clinton. he signed then first and produced their first album. but this reallly sucks compared to the real funk

  • @mjjcng8958 He didn't sign them to their label, or produce their first album. They were signed before Freaky Styley, Andy Gill produced their first record. Get the facts brahhh

  • i love both groups. but I was expecting it to sound like shit, but not bad.

  • Why Bother? Some things are better left alone

  • I love RHCP to death, but the first 3/4 of the video made me say "Really?". Either John didn't know how to play it or didn't want to. I've heard better

  • i can hear my mother call

  • I can hear my mother call!!!!!!

  • WTF??? what that???

  • no matter what i search I alsways end up on the chili peppers. awesome

  • at the end AAAATOOOOMIIIC DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGG LOL xd

  • For what its worth it sounds like someone dont know the words or simply dont wanna sing.

George Clinton produced Freaky Stylee did he not?

  • I know John does love funkadelic, but he seems not enjoy playing funkadelic songs at all in this By the Way tour. i think he didnt want to do any funky stuff. Flea seems force John to continue this funkadelic Jam at first. haha This video shows how the relationship between both of two was not so good at that time. I was glad when I read John's interview that he mentioned he got into Funk/R&B/Blues stuff again in 2006. Sadly it seems that had lasted not so long....

  • It doesn't quite have the same impact without the effect of a large group of singers.

  • Not bad....

  • Man this is awsome! There is no bigger Funkadelic fan than me. the Chili Peppers did this song justice.

  • The original song came out in 1973 and it`s amazing how you can hear how much it influenced bands like faith no more, red hot chili peppers, fishbone, and tons of other bands. If you listen to Funkadelics earlier recordings you will hear a big mix of different sounds that created a lot of what we hear today.

  • Saw them billed w/ Fishbone and at the end BOTH bands came on stage and did a half-hour version of Cosmic Slop... after seeing this i know why Angelo Moore did the singing- Anthony didn't know the words- and he STILL doesn't. This was embarrassing to watch.

These guys have become The Red Hot Chili Eagles.

  • @yoursaxman Maybe to you it was embarassing. You never know. He might have been going of inspiration or enjoying himself in different ways. Maybe you were not that familiar with how the chilis rock.

  • i think the discussion was about flea being in the wrong key

  • Granted ... John Frusciante is a talented guitarist in his own right. But Eddie Hazel

musta had been doing somersaults in his grave when the RHCP's did this!!

  • @AnnaAnnaYes its because it isnt supposed to sound like the original.. u obviously have no clue what ur talking about nor u know the peppers

  • @conradortn I do know what im talking about because Mr

Frusciante has mentioned in several interviews that he

was influenced by Funkadelic and George Clinton, and he

dose'nt know the song"Cosmic Slop"?? That is the point

that i was making, i'm not the only one who thinks this, sir

  • @AnnaAnnaYes Anna, ma'am, I seriously doubt john never heard the song... all chili peppers' covers are quite different from the original.

  • @conradortn Yeah man. Gotta make it their own you know? I think its the best way to pay homage. Rocking out to it in your own way.

  • frusciante = stale shit

  • @walternutts Dude john frusciante is not about showing people he can rock the guitar technically superior than other guitarists. He is all about space and providing emotional unpredictability in his playing.

  • I suddenly remember why I like those Peppers...!

  • Funkadelic <3

  • John ''I dont know what to play'' Flea: ''IMPROVISE '' Ahah , like it .

  • Just learnt the song tonight =] It really isn't that hard at all =] Yay for flea :D

  • cool

  • Damn Flea is good

  • Nice one! thnx for uploading!

  • at 0:29 John was like " Flea , what the fuck I'm supposed to play?" I think that he told him to play some funky solo with wah wah beacuse John has started rocking out few seconds later.

  • OMFG RHCP & FUNKADELIC COMBINED!!!!!!!!!

    (I'm such a Fangirl)

  • they do a really long version of this that is a kinda mash up of funk called trilogy of the turtle

  • the yertle trilogy!

  • lol @ the crows they have no idea what song they're doing

  • Not a bad cover but NOWHERE near the original!!!!

  • ya but consider that they only have 4 people compared to the 10s of people pfunk had..its pretty good

  • Comment removed

  • @t9190kp its different, but RHCP have more punk mixed into there style, the original was much more mellow than this. i personaly like the original better

  • @t9190kp

yea, you know that it's a cover, right?omg stop being such a dick. one of RHCP's influence was the P-Funk supergroup.

  • @kommercialis- Wasn't being a "dick"! I think i said it wasn't a bad cover!!!...Just not as good as the original! Quit being so sensitive!....I'm sure the group would say their cover wasn't as good as the original!!!

  • @t9190kp

    cos it is a COVER

  • @t9190kp Back in the 80's they used to cover this. It's epic

  • @t9190kp they play covers for fun, dude

  • they them children of production, yall!!!

  • lmao

  • they have soul this shit is awesome why u want them to run around all the time

  • Ehhh, what a boring cover.....

  • they have soul!!!Leave it to funkadelic though rhcp but i respect them for keeping funkadelics music alive!!! We all need the p in our daily lives!!!!!!!!

    -Atomic Dog

  • definitely no soul

  • lol i totally agree

  • he he you feel sore certainly

  • wack ass shit !

need SOUL 4 THAT FUNKADELIC MUSIC.

SO LET P-FUNK GIVE THE REAL SHIT

fuck yall if you dont like what i said !

  • u cjtc !

  • u...dsap !

  • Those Peppers are some funky honkies. I

  • I'ts all good. Their just showing some love 2 George & the Crew. That's why i have alot of respect 4 these guys. They always showed love 4 the guys they admired. They always gave guys Like Larry Graham,Bootsy,Sly Stone,The Meters P-funk, thier props. They never tried to claim credit 4 anything they just did thier thing. Much love 2 the Chilli Peppers

  • This is a Funkadelic cover I think...no I know.

  • yes! its ok to bite the funk that feeds you

  • fuck them

  • haha this wasnt good and i love the chilis.

  • It may not sound like Funkadelic. But these mother fuckers are some damn good musicians just showing some respect to their friend George Clinton who helped them get their start. Just paying homage to Funkadelic. The dumb probably won't be able to get it?

  • you are the dump that goerge clinton took and guess what you arent very funky. sorry to break it to you

  • you havent even got a video up u dipshit, you should have stayed quiet. Its obvious you would like this version better...as you have no soul.

  • uh. im gonna let you read my previous comments so that you can get an idea of what i said. it may take you a few times but read very slowly and try to comprehend my one sentance comment right below

  • why the hell are you still writing to me, man get a life. You can fuck the chillis for all i care you pussy, shit man fuck off

  • haha your actually funny cuz i was just thinking the same thing. your being very contradicting with your comments. you obviously didnt catch that i said i didnt like this version. but its ok. i understand

  • wow you obviously didnt understand my last comment, listen man if your really that into to me i guess we can be youtube friends, but thats it. Dont start sending me personal messages or shit like that. Ahh fuck it just stop writing to me all together man, please just fuck off. Peace

  • u ma'am have zero brain funkshun

  • hmm...maybe George would approve of the Chilis jamming this, considering he did produce their record/let them live in his country house way back when they were nowhere near mainstream...

  • they got funk but not that funk you know that funk you scrap off your foot there good but they dont got that funk

  • haha fun seeing flea do it, but john looked pissed that they even started jammin on it.

  • Don't be giving people thumbs down for admitting this is a bad cover.

It's very obvious John has no idea what he's supposed to be playing on the guitar.

  • This sounds better than the oridginal funkadelic version.

  • Take that back!! ;)

  • fuck u

  • if u have no soul

  • flea did well but others are not good enough

  • I'm sorry to say, but this is very bad....just listen to the original by funkadelic.

  • god, i love fleas style SO much. this is awesome!

  • This isint the best cover they did of this, search for the yertle trilogy and they play in during that.

  • Hmm... I dont think he knew what to play? Or he only knew it in a different key, which could be also why they changed key... who knows

  • john looks like he says at(:35) I dont know what key or what you are playing, He leans toward Flea, and he tells him( but he is still lost) lol

  • Weird cover...little bit disappointing..

please check my honest cover on my profile too ;)

  • love this cover

  • As much as I have loved the Peppers this was disappointing. It looked like Flea was the only one who knew this song. The original Funkadelic version starts with the single most underrated guitar solo in modern music. It fucking shreds. Frusciante either didn't know it or was too wasted to remember it.

  • believe me he knows it. he plays it on shows from the late 80s and early 90s.

  • U are soooo on point about that solo! Mike just RIPS it!!

  • y did they change keys?!

  • because its a tricky song to play as it is but they are playing it slightly faster than the original and therefore shifted keys so John and Flea could reach the right frets.................or it might of been just for the hell of it but you can't rele tell

  • OMFG I FUCKING LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!

thats some funky shit rite there!!! yaaahh!!!

  • Funkadelic strikes again --> RHCP started with the P of Funky supported tru Sir Nose (a.k.a. George Clinton)

  • hahaha that's impossible! the problem is Sir Nose has come to the peppers cause he don't want more funk in their music. We need Starchild to come right now and hit him with the flishlight!!! can you hear the mothership comin?

  • Superb!

  • That's tight! The RHCP showing their love for the funk...THE P FUNK!!

  • fuckin deadly
