Salvation is wholly of God, by His making, by His choice...His action. Yes, God takes credit for all that pertains to the act of salvation in design and its giving. Faith, in man, comes from hearing...and hearing from the word of God. It is biblically unjustifiable to say that free will somehow destroys God's authoring of salvation. Free will allows a person to exercise faith when the Word is heard. More specifically, faith is not a work. There is no "doing" in faith. "Doing" comes after faith.
