  • that thing for the head at 4:28 : ive seen it in a few stores a few times. me and my friends always thought that it was some kind of head massage instrument, (without any kind of healing effect whatsoever, not even dreamed about that....

  • Dawkins, homiopathy has a very serius role. Homiopathy eradicates the genes of stupidity cause only stupids would turn to it, and thus is more likely they die. So please let homiopathy and all other pseudosciences and alt medicine do their job, they are doing a favor.

  • @x3llence So you're saying believing in such things is genetic? Don't you think it's more about indoctrination as a child? I think people are suffering without there being a reason for it (I mean, in this case it can be easily avoided, in other cases suffering it can't be avoided) and that should stop. Pointing such things out is the right thing to do.

  • Daaamn Dawkins can snore like a warthog

  • The black hole in my body creates fecal matter!

  • @JumpCheckProductions ha ha , good job he's not black

  • The fact of the matter is, like religion, health is motivated by the fear of getting fataly sick or possibly death so what fear does is put people in a state of mind in which they gravitate to delusions and irrational solutions. Religion manipulates the fear of the unknown when we die to delude us even more just as the way health does in our society. its quite sad really...

  • I would have backhanded the bitch at 3:32.

  • lol those head massage things are amazing.

  • One of the active chemicals in the vaccine is corrolated to autism, but there is no causal relation between them. The vaccines are safe and a good idea, modern medicine is tested vigorously.

  • @CrackersL so fucken vigorously , you have no idea what we go through to be physicians

  • @DrJUSTX Your definitely not a physician.

  • Comment removed

  • Its unfortunate that Dawkins is unaware of the mountain of scientific evidence implicating vaccines as a cause of autism.

  • @dodanimal Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • @dodanimal It's unfortunate that you have to perpetuate lies like these.. THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN OF EVIDENCE you paranoid twat!

  • @SeanfromHawaii82 grow a pair of balls, man. You're too afraid to be alone. Your wife is an idiot and should never bear children. If children are not the plan, then have fun.

  • Where in my body might there be a black hole?

    hahahaha I love Ricky D

  • Reasoning is the essence of the human's mind, not mysticism. A toddler asked a question about heaven and hell to his dad, this was the answer; heaven is where good people go and live with God after they die, and hell is a place where God puts bad people after they die. The Toddler asked again; dad, can these bad people in hell pray to a more powerful God to save them from burning in the fire eternally ? Dad stayed silent for few minutes, then said; Thank you kiddo, i never thought that far..

  • It´s curious that most of these "alternative healers" look like they are going to die by 55 from cholesterol clogging.

  • Watching all tehse Richard Dawkins documentaries has got me thinking, do you think that maybe Plato's cave analogy had anything to do with religion and how even if he could SHOW you the evidence for there being a more complex and beautiful existence, some may be too scared to ever leave the darkness and simplicity of the cave they have lived in their whole life?

  • @mojoswoptopz I Believe Plato layed the ground for Neocheaters( The big eye on the pyramid and his friends living of the effort of the masses while using mysticism to keep them confused their entire life.) to ever reign over the masses using facts out of context.

  • The woman talking about Black holes is talking out of her Chocolate Starfish.

  • 'mumbo jumbo' @ 7:55 omg, ahahahhahahha

  • The funny thing is that there is some idiot dog trainer who uses the very same pseudoscience language including vibrations/energy/harmonics to explain dog behavior. The sad part is that he has a reasonable following who believe quantum physics (or their corruption of it) explain animals better than ethology and learning theory.

  • I'm not saying that the idea of Chakra is scientifically valid (it's not), but she has no idea what the hell Chakra is. "Black Hole" is not even a remotely accurate analogy, so she somehow manages to get wrong what is already a mystic construct. Incredible.

I also don't think 'esoteric' is the right word.

  • Might as well give them leaches. Hell, leaches might work better than this shit.

  • Dawkins snores like a BOSS!!

  • Alternative medicine = Natural selection

We should promote it and let the retards select themselves out of the game

  • A dream day: going to a psychic convention with Dawkins.

  • I love watching Richard Dawkins in those moments when he's weathering someone's hokum. It looks like it takes every fiber of his being not to get up and walk away.

  • If I had seen Richard Dawkins wondering around with a camera crew following him, I would decline to be interviewed -- unless I were an idiot (like the depicted above people).

  • OMG .....I think i may remain single forever..........with so many women believing in such nonesense.

  • @cjunk351 You know, just because this happens to be a documentary featuring a few women (and some men) believing in nonsense, it doesn't mean that they all do... -_-;

  • @raqsattaq well, I never claimed that 'they ALL do'. its just that given the numbers......and subsequently the odds.......I would rather remain single, although .....there have been a few religious women that have liked me for which i was willing to ignore their irrationality.....but then i remind myself......'how can I respect their mind' .

  • @raqsattaq well, I never claimed that 'they ALL do'. I know they are out there, its just the numbers. Ahh, and given the numbers and subsequetly the odds.........I would rather remain single......than spend my life looking through the near 90%+ to find one, and then find a virtious one..... Actually, religious women can be quite nice....maybe I shall just pretend religion and star signs beliefs......... Much better chances. it just wont be satisfying. Oh, the dilema....lol

  • @cjunk351 that has to be the most sexist thing i've heard in a while.

  • @cjunk351 no no no you should be thankful for that... just be like "hey baby i can lift 300 lbs" and she'll say "Oh you can!!"

    natural selection at work... lol

  • @cjunk351 Don't let these idiots taint your view of the female population. We're not all fuckwits, I promise.

  • @cjunk351 well just fool them XD get what you want then BABAY!

  • The ignorance here is so appalling and horrid that I am almost ashamed to be a part of this religious, foolish, irrational species known as humanity. Dawkins, Hitchens, Maher, and others, I applaud you on your defense and advocating of science, reason, logic, and ultimately, truth. Your patience with stupidity is incredible.

  • Don't know about a black hole but I've found a brown hole in my body.

  • for fucks suck, Richard plz just slap these people, try slapping some sense into them, it makes more god damn sense than black holes within our bodies

    the idiocy is killing me

  • 'Science replaces private prejudice with publicly verifiable evidence'. OK, now I'm not pro either of these two positions, but I find it hard to see the difference between 'god must exist because otherwise you can't explain the universe' and 'dark matter must exist because otherwise you can't explain the universe'. Both require faith in something you can't see or prove exists. I'm happy with 'we don't know yet'. And to some extent 'I don't actually really care.' :-)

  • @gzornenplat ok cool

  • i enjoy Mr Dawkins' shows but i would point him to any biology book and look at a diagram of the endochrine system and their glands and then at a diagram of the chakras...coincidence? similarly esoteric Hindu/Buddhist anatomy has known for thousands of years that the nervous system is essentially millions of nerves connected to the spinal column which is then connected to brain...they knew this when "western science" didnt even know where the heart was ! just sayin' ...

  • My forehead hurts from all this facepalming

  • it might sound like mumbo jumbo to you, but lots of people are now getting interested in it, and they're part of the universe, so it must be true!

  • @Pirate44444 your thick!

  • @LilyMarieRose "you're thick" not "your thick"

I was OBVIOUSLY paraphrasing what the woman in the video was saying, since I actually used her own words. If you failed to notice this, then it's not me who is thick.

  • @LilyMarieRose *you're* thick

  • Esoteric knowledge.... convenient...

  • chakra is not real? NARUTO IS NOT REAL THEN? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • It would be irrational to NOT be concerned about our children, or indeed anybody, being injected with mercury. Thimerosol is a mercury based preservative used in vaccines. It is worrying that Dawkins failed to mention this detail which is at the very hub of the vaccine controversy, and not vaccination per se.

I hope the University of Calgary's peer reviewed papers are rational enough for Dawkins.

  • @jackasome58 No sense in ever regretting your belief in god. Religiosity, I suppose, can teach it's own lessons. A lot of the lessons of religions are not bad; some are morally outstanding ideals. Accepting a religion(s) at face value tend to be more damaging to our overall life, especially if people are not able to break out of pre-existing molds.

  • @breaneainn thank u very much. Belive me I never will.

  • Is it always fat middle aged women who work with "angels" don't see many 21 yr old hotties working with Gabriel do you?

  • "Well you havent got ANY then" The tone of her voice makes me wish I was there to slap her fat face.

  • I used to be cathlic. I'm 17 years old and I begain to see reason a year ago. Today I'm still forced to church but I still reget any belife in god. I love this vid.

  • @jackasome58 smart for 17. Never ever apologise for who you are.

  • "...but there's plenty of people who are now getting interested in these topics"... SO THE HECK WHAT? The amount of irrational dupes "interested" in a topic has nothing to do with the validity of its claims. Dawkins must be the world's most patient man.

  • LOL @ 6:06

  • It's like kicking a puppy...

  • anybody notice that at 4:36 the audio is of-beat with his face??, besides (i dont know why it bothers me) that its an awsome video

  • 3:11 "I've always liked the saying, that we should be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brain falls out." ... great!

  • @sendiulo Open mindedness should not be as open as an open dustbin, into which any rubbish can be put.

  • well chakras suck in loads of money...

  • I feel the urge to SLAP some sense into them

  • @rashaan6 That's a little racist...I admit that they were deluded, but I see no need to go and invoke racial remarks.

There were even a lot of "psychics" that weren't Indian. What about them?

  • @rashaan6 My debating style was a matter of cupping my hands and bellowing. So, yet another 'no go' subject.

  • 0:18 DAMN, Look at those girls swinging. One is standing on the swing, while another is sitting.

  • Comment removed

  • I've just had to spend a weekend with my family and had to deal with them insisting that evolution is 'only a theory' whereas God is a fact. Unfortunately I don't have Dawkins' patience. Difficult.

  • There is building evidence for a correlation between giving a child too many vaccines at once and Neuro-immune dysfunction syndrome, which can cause autism-like symptoms in some sensitive individuals. Simply spacing them out would suffice.

However, the small amount of mercury in a vaccine is as much likely to cause Autism as fluorine in the water is to cause someone to become a communist homosexual.

  • Science invented vaccines that DID NOT CONTAIN MERCURY. Science tells us that mercury is a toxin and kills nerve cells, including the brain. Science also tells us that mercury is not needed to achieve the stated benefits from the vaccine. WHY THEN IS MERCURY IN THE VACCINES.

  • @agnoses

Mercury is added to protect vaccine from spoilage because spoiled vaccines pose greater danger than small dose of mercury .

  • "If you believe in a rock, you are automatically believing in God."

    Checkmate, atheists.

  • Black hole...

    In my body? ...

See Neil Degrasse Tyson on: Spaghettification.

  • Dawkins is my kinda of asshole

  • I now feel myself getting angry at these twerps who believe all this claptrap. I think these people are either certifiably insane or criminals.

  • @grahamlive They are probably both insane and criminals. They are definitely frauds.

  • I thought stupid people were only in the US

  • 'I'm so open minded, my brain has fallen out'

  • You would never believe that this day and age people would be so gullible...yet there it is plain as day!!

I will never understand why as a species we have to enoke a divine being for an answer to the beginnings of life and the universe!

Imagination isn't always a good thing...

  • I fucking lost it when he said "Where abouts in my body might there be a black hole." I can't believe he did that with a straight face. Never play poker against this man.

  • I wish I had been more aware of this world when I was younger, instead was was mired in a Roman Catholic dogma it took me nearly 14 years to break out of..It's sad how much I bought into superstition and how much it still maligns my thinking even now..

  • @BandWagon1987 at least you are one of the lucky few who made it out...some are not so fortunate

  • @BandWagon1987 It took me almost 18 years to do the same thing. It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?lol

  • @BandWagon1987 I'm rarely as happy as when I see someone who has renounced their faith, good luck to you

  • the angels' part LMAO!

  • my god these people are stupid,, not Dawkins.....I mean telling you they are psychic, can see angels,,heal you humming a tune over your head,,and yes pray and a god come to the rescue...1000 years from now at least computers will maybe still have our discussions and videos from now and they won't think we were all complete idiots. If Lord Of The Rings was published way back then and called the bible these people would all be searching for a ring..I

  • @nick0mac lol, but true

  • @nick0mac Would that make the Pope Sauruman? White robes, Big garden and a secret evil orb to consult.

  • @nick0mac

lie george carkin said. ¨if u believe in angels...what about zombies or goblins¨...same shit if u ask me

  • @nick0mac Agreed, unfortunately I know so many people who firmly believe in astrology. I have endured strenuous amounts of patience in my attempt to not tell them how foolish they sound when they say shit like "I can spot a Libra from across the room." This bullocks is laughable.

  • @nick0mac ......damn that would be awesome......hell I'm all for starting a Lord of the Rings cult now. "And Gandalf said, 'Thou shalt not pass,' and the Balrog was smote down from it's place upon the bridge, and the ring passed on from the Mines of Moria to Lothlorien, where there would be no orc or goblin. Amen"

  • @geminirat84 That sounds like a text I could live by, Wargs, Mumakil and Ents would certainly have spiced up paganism.

  • Who cracked up laughing at 7:08 hahaha? Made me laugh when I saw his face.

  • Makes you wonder how the rest of made it with so many crackpots out there. I'm pretty sure Darwin's "natural selection" wouldn't have chosen these people over logic users.

  • chakra? from Naruto?

  • or just let your child die or suffer from a preventable disease with a low percentage of side effects

  • i got Terret Syndrome from Vaccines when i as a Baby. Vacine Induced Diseases are very real. Dont let your kids get a VID!

  • @ScientologySucksAss well yeah of course you get a VID if you go to some small-town clinic in the middle of bumfuck, nowhere. Go to a clinic near a hospital and your sure to get proper treatment. Or you could just get the flu and...die...

  • @ScientologySucksAss Terret syndrome cannot be inserted via a needle, it is an audible impediment

  • @timtag27 lol thanks..but I didn't know that leaving a comment was considered "trolling".. Im not sure what trolling is, but people love to throw the word around.

  • *FACEPALM*

When I grow up, I want to be as patient as him.

  • @RaitoDenki be careful what you wish for, you'll be surrounded by superstition, like a moth to a flame

  • @AfroNinjaX o wow my comment has 42likes? :O

  • @RaitoDenki yes, you're famous, now don't develope a drug habit and join reality tv in a bid for public redemption, because that would be new and exciting, but I digress. lol

  • @AfroNinjaX and then I loled

  • Sometimes I talk to people about the value of scientific thinking, and how it we shouldn't accept irrational beliefs, religious or otherwise, based on "faith". A frequent response I get is something along the lines of: "Well as long as I'm not a fanatic, or not forcing my beliefs on anyone else, it's harmless, so why are you so worked up about it?"

This is an example of the dangers of not valueing evidence based belief. It can literally be a matter of life and death with alternative medicine.

  • That feels nice :)

  • I find it troubling that people have actually obtained degrees, high level PHD's and they are certified idiots. Scary

  • @MrJIMMY3009 precisely why Dawkins ridicules the schooling system too. I am from India where Deepak got his degree in medicine. The society here is based on people believing in things and then impressing these believes on every aspect of their and other peoples lives. It is a very primitive, pre-medieval society where everyone owns nicest automobiles and modernized houses but blindly accepts everything said in holy books.Deepak is one of those morons. He thinks he is the only one who's got it

  • 3:46 if looks could kill...

  • Note to Christian parents worried about your kids dabbling in the occult:allow them to attend a "psychic faire" one time, and they will never look at spell books, ouija boards,Tarot cards, etc. again after they've met 90 overweight 50ish housewives who call themselves "priestesses" and try to sell overpriced soaps and go on for hours about their angels and fairies. That's what cured me.Of course, once kids begin to think critically, the orthodox religions will also be on the chopping block.

  • 8:14 I have no idea why, but I thought he was going to say "It's not really up to me, it's up to God." But then I remembered that this is Richard Dawkins. Damn Christians, making me think in terms of god all the time.

  • Hillary Clinton... I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

  • I believe in god, it's Richard Dawkins.

  • "The media wildly exaggerates the dangers of scientific medicines..." "Why do you think that sort of thing happens in our society today?" -Dawkins

FUN FACT: pharmaceuticals are synthetic knockoffs (of biological compounds found in nature) that carry with them negative side-effects, bc non-modified biological compounds can't be patented, & thus cannot generate as much profit.

  • "Jonathan Emord on FDA corruption"

  • i can't say i completely agree with Richard on this. Many Eastern medicine pratices have the objective of safely relieving pain. Acupressure and the like affect the nervous system, so they feel good. They're safer than drugs ONLY if you remember what is real, and what is not.

  • You often hear people saying things like "I wouldn't try that, I heard on the news it's dangerous" but can you blame them for putting trust in one of the only easily accessible source of information? People behind the news are just as easily susceptible to superstition and what not, but many people don't realize that.

  • Science can be biased - scientists need to declare if and who pays them and for their work

  • @RickonDraw no thanks!

  • @FunnyLittleChap

    excuse me, Nostradamus

  • @FunnyLittleChap

Your inability to spell makes me laugh, your ineptitude makes me laugh. Maybe you should spend more time on your grammar and spelling than spend time making really really shit come backs to do with faecal matter. It pretty much sums up the fact that you are 13 years old and are as dumb as a fucking down syndrome child. It actually makes me laugh because you are that much of a fucking retard, please jump in front of a car, cheers.

  • @norcofoxxx Please do everyone a favour and don't feed the (rather obvious) trolls. And please don't make disparaging remarks about downs syndrome, you ignorant twat.

  • @whyteay

It makes me hard feeding the trolls, and i'll make any remarks I want to regarding people with an extra chromosome.

  • @norcofoxxx Freak.

  • @FunnyLittleChap It's 'you're' not 'your' when used in this context. I'll give you an example: YOU'RE a dumb shit and YOUR spelling is awful.

  • @Key3812 i will to give you an eximple of youre' stupidity - you our a stupid, stupid, shit, shit, shitty, your a basterd you cannt smell even and your really unintellugent.

  • @FunnyLittleChap I really hope this is a joke. Thinking must be painful for you.

  • @FunnyLittleChap

English is my third language after russian and hebrew, and even I know that it's spelled "pray" in your context.

learn to spell before you learn how to write.

  • @SpongeInPyjama you our in my prairs.

  • @FunnyLittleChap You've undermined your own argument by simply writing that sentence.

  • @TheDensley7 you undermined you're own argument becaus you are such a thick and really not intellugent basterd. Basterd get lost!!!
