  • @sanluis2012 Use a buffer on the whole car because the old paint oxidizes

  • wait what exactly did you put on the car that looked like a type of cement? Do you need to put 3 coats if you take off all the paint? What did you you do at the end of the video with the sander and what was in the pressure cans?

  • @futureraza It was body filler... at the end of the video I was buffing out the panels to complete the blend job. Learn a whole lot more at: learnautobodyandpaint(.)com also get the free 85 page auto body A-Z manual there too!

  • what kind of body filler do you use

  • i have a question, I recently painted two different car's and had the same problem on both. After painting them and lettting them dry i started to remove everything i had taped up. An i notice that the panel I painted was darker then then the rest of the car. This happend to me on both cars i painted. Why would it be darker color? I did use the factory paint code of the cars.

  • @sanluis2012 You can't make new paint look like old paint. You need to blend your base coat and clear onto the next panel. Learn more on our blog :)

  • Awesome job man. So I don't have to get my entire vehicle painted just to match the new paint on the hood. And the dent on the fender.

  • Music makes me wants a cold ass corona on the beach!

  • I recently became a VIP member of Tony's program. The amount and quality of the information Tony provides is top-notch. He has many videos on several aspects of body repair and paint work, not just videos on simple paint jobs or touch-ups. Also, he doesn't gloss over details. The repair of this CR-V and the blending technique are covered in great detail in one of his many video series. He even shows you some of his own mistakes and how to prevent or correct them. Keep up the good work, Tony.

  • @hoopfan71 I appreciate the feedback buddy! I will be adding much more to the course as well as advanced frame repair in the future. Thank you all for being apart of this amazing community!

  • @HowToPaintYourCar Frame repair would be great to learn after I get good at some of the basic techniques. A buddy of mine has a beautiful Acura NSX, and I've always wanted to have one. I just can't bring myself to spend a lot of money on cars in general, so a cheap, damaged older exotic that I can restore, like an NSX or a Viper, would be ideal.

  • @hoopfan71 Cool!

  • Comment removed

  • @TVDiaries07 $500. and up depending on what you want done.

  • @TVDiaries07 it doesnt matter if your a girl or not ? (im a guy)

  • @EverybodyLovesEthan you can really do it with a 15-20 gal man you dont need a huge compressor

  • @TheOnetimeatbandcamp

    defelsko.com/applications/paintmeter/automotive-paint-detailing.htm

I'm no fan of filler but also can't work without it...

Here some car resellers will offer much less money if they find out that car had some work on body...

  • no wonder paint jobs are so expensive, this is truly an art, kinda like shaving

  • Nice and quick results for low amount of money!

But this way expert will always found out if car had some body work on it....

I think the best example of real hard work & perfect results is polished aluminum with clear coat... No filler, resin or other shit on the body...

  • Nice work, but you should have shown. The wet sanding process as well, prior to paint. I know it was a daily driver job, fast in and out job.

  • what kind of material do you used.. >??? I didn see you using primer on bondo neither clear coat??

  • This video has no instructions. I have no idea what the kids doing!

  • @00Allsmiles haha... that's why you go to learnautobodyandpiant(.)com...

  • where did you get the music? it is so relaxing....

and Im definitely gonna hit up your website, you did a fantastic job! I am looking to paint my Mustang, and my uncle (who owns a body shop) is gonna help me, so I need as much info as possible!

  • @soulevs Awesome man... I'll see you in the site! Just found it... I like it too! be cool man.

  • i prefer old school and use a wool pad. The foam pad seams to get hot to fast and burns

  • @h88auto I like to teach how you can use both to get AMAZING finishes! :)

  • Wish my door turned out as well as your job here. I have a trailblazer it had a little rust on the bottom of the door thought I would tackle it before it got worse. I have no paint gun I used dupli coat looked up color code and all got the right paint. Turned out too dark not bad but you can see it like a shadow. I have not buffed it out yet maybe that will help. Lt Tarnished Silver Met is the color of my truck. One quick question whats the green primer you use.

  • @Milwaukeerr The green primer was just a high build etching primer. Sometimes it's quicker than taking out the paint gun for a small spot. Awesome man!

  • what type of paint and reducer are you using ?

  • PPG. Learn more at the HQ: learnautobodyandpaint com

  • ohh great tony. now that side of the car looks better then the rest of the car... nice job bro

  • That's a lot of work actually that's why I am willing to pay more for good paint job.

  • nice video i have a question how big of an air compressor do you need to do this job

  • @titan371 a small one will do... garage style (30 gal) If you want power get a 5-6 HP 60 Gal. Check out the site: learnautobodyandpaint(.)com to learn all you need.

    T

  • and the temperature of the room doesn´t matter?? O.o

  • @1990Nissan300ZXTT No problem!

  • This video is quite good, and explains well. But I wonder, why you don't use PDR on those dings ? The paint doesn't seem to be damaged, so I just though, it might have been easier.

  • @DJHcom PDR is a skill that is very hard to learn. and MOST times... you still see a ripple in the paint. They are not always best for CREASE dents like this one.

  • why in the fuck do ppl use spray canssssssssssssssssssssss

  • @kidspee3 Not that I recommend it, but some of our VIP members wanted to see a process using that 1k high-build primer. Still I recommend the 2k, but for some guys at home.... this does work. I haven't seen any shrinkage yet...

  • Why is everything so screwed up in the UK? I am so happy to be living in the USA, the UK has too many regulations and bloody taxes.

  • @DownzyTheBear Haha!!

  • Very nice job and skills! I am going to have to go with the 50 dollar roll-on rustoleum paint job because I don't have all that equipment or your skills lol

  • Ни хера не понял

  • Lol :) well i live in the UK nd 2 get a car you need insurance 2 have a car on the road nd 2 get insurance you need a licence. lol

  • @howtopaintyourcar thanks for replying. ok thanks i have been watching your videos today and i am thinking about doing. theres only 1 problem i dont have a drivers licence.

  • @TheWeirdVisionGuy Drivers licence for what? to learn auto body repair? lol

  • @howtopaintyourcar why isnt there any audio (your voice) in this video...

  • @TheWeirdVisionGuy Sorry, It's just a small preview of what you get in the VIP Club! -we have more videos within the channel that have video commentary.

  • i bet you make beast money painting...

  • what size air compressor did you use????

  • @cindrometumbler33 I have a small setup at home - 33 Gal tank. At the shop we have a 150 Gal.

  • the mechanicle thing!

  • just a simple question; what did you use to sand? that thing works awesome!

  • Loved the music!!! realy relaxing....

  • Uh... you blended the paint AFTER clearing? How does that work?

  • @joeshmo14760 No... It was buffed and shined after blending... Called (spot-panel blending) which we cover in step-by-step detail in the VIP course.

  • Ah My bad. I missed where you had just blended out. Good looking job. Why did you choose to use aerosol primer though?

  • I like the music.

  • Wow, great job!!!!

  • cool. Thanks!! : )

  • I saw that when you were starting to polish the paint, the polisher was already on when you youch the car. I just felt curious because as far as I know the policher must be started after touch the car.

  • @gdefendi ohh, ok. No it doesn't matter... When you start to get the hang of things you can do that...

  • Dude, did you touch the paint with the plisher already on?

  • @gdefendi What do you mean?

  • @anyer06dhs Awesome dude! Yes, send in your pics and upload them in the VIP area!

    -Stay cool man.

    Tony

  • How can you say this video is "How to paint your car at home"? i doubt everyone has all this shit to paint there car laying around,

  • @MrJStevens369

It was done in my garage. You'll be surprised, many guys who are into this stuff go out and buy it. Besides it's not that expensive. You'll save thousands by repairing your own cars and also keep the tools you invest in. Make money too!

  • Hey. Just wanna say I like your videos. I'm curious about the aerosol primer that you sprayed. Can you tell me what type of primer is it? How does it compare to 2K primer fillers? Thanks!

  • what is that stuff you use to fill in the dents?

  • @MrPeteisdabest Body filler. If you want to know more check out learnautobodyandpaint(dot)com for more free videos and blog posts!

  • im a qualified painter.iv watched a few of these "do it yourself" paint vids and all are done dodgy.you want the best finish and best lifetime of your paint job. pay for it to be done by profesionals..if i wanted to build my home i wouldnt get a butcher to do it. think about it.

  • is there anything special you need to do to make the paint "blend in" with the rest? i just patched up a minor rust spot on my car and im worried if i paint it its not going to match.

  • @supra6t9 Yes there is, and it's what I show and talk about in the VIP course over on learnautobodyandpaint(.)com you may want to check that out for more information so you can get nice finishes on your paint work.

  • you do nice work. i have to subscribe!!!!!

  • @stevef474 Cheers!

    Like it too!

  • @stevef474 Thanks man.

  • hay just a quick question: i am wanting to paint my whole car a different colour to the factory one, and i also want to install a bodykit. should i install the kit and then paint the whole car, or should i paint the kit and car separately and then install the bodykit?

  • @fvv4847 It all depends on what kind of job you want to do. If you are spraying candy or metallics then it will be hard to match colors with the panels off. If you are spraying a reg base clear nothing fancy you can paint it separately.

If you want the easiest method put it all together and paint it. You won't have to worry about scratching parts when putting it on.....

Again all of this is covered in the LearnAutoBodyAndPaint(dot)com VIP Course.

    Check it out!

    Be cool!

  • how much would you charge to paint a car? Because i need to paint mine...

  • @deharoj707 10 billion dollars! lol nahh man... I don't paint for customers anymore. I only work on personal projects. Sorry :)
