@Chingster22 No the reason iso turns black is because of the water added but that said iso is polar and non polar so no matter what you wont be able to desolve as little plant material as with a solely non polar substance like butane.

@weRoneself I filtered it through a coffee filter and collected any plant material. If the resulting oil is the color of the plant material that means the green cellulose has been disolved. Water is polar so it dissolves plant material and achohol is bordering polar and non polar there for regardless of the water content your hash will never ever be amber unless you use butane or hexane both non polar molecules.
@thatguru877 The cellulose will not dissolve if you use FRESH nugz, an ISO master secret ;) I get better results with ISO than BHO, The reason being that I can get better flavor, potancy, yeld, as well as collecting more cannabiniods such as CBD and CBN as there are polar and non polar goodies in the cannabis. With butane it is consistant but you cannot control color, potancy, yeld. I have made golden glass ISO with my organic chem teacher. I hope you can get the same results soon.

@Chingster22 look up qwiso. I use pretty frosy trim and shake for 30 sec or less with cheese closh...no coffee filter...important. Cheese cloth is way better and fiber free, folded over 3 times. You'll get oil. And I just let it evaporate in front of a fan. 99%ISO.
@guitardude1230 what i like to do is break it up into small nugs first and run that, then grind it up finer and blow it again. that way you get a good amount of good quality oil, and a bit of darker lesser quality stuff.

if you grind it properly and not crush it to a fine powder then it doesnt affect quality in my experience. The coffee filter prevents plant matter from seeping into the pyrex
Hey man, awesome video and awesome product. The only difference I would have done is grind up all of your trim buds to get more surface area. The more surface area the butane contacts, the more product you have in the end. Peace.
@guitardude1230 grinding it gives darker bho from chlorophyll.To me it seems like with ungrounded you're just dissolving away the trichomes from the outer surface of plant without stripping green chlorophyll. grinding exposes more of the green plant matter which has really no active ingredients.. I'm not by any means an expert but have made it for 12 yrs. Also my credentials: i'm a product buyer, consultant and wax maker for one of the biggest mmj co-op's in orange county.
@dirtyj247365 I only know what I experience, and whenever I grind up the shake (not too finely mind you) and dont pack it tightly in the tube , I get more oil of a better quality. very nice vid. you can crush up that bud and run it again, as pointed out, but don't throw it away just yet. still a lot of trichs left after 2 runs with 5x refined. notice when you un-pack your tube, the buds/trim dry out very fast. let it sit a day after all vapors gone and run it again thru your bubble bags for hash or other extraction. too bad 99.5% doesn't come in cans...

Amber glass is a form of butane hash oil (BHO) that is purged to be superstable and rick hard, but transparent enough to see light through. Sorry man. Whoever is selling you amber coloured hash and CALLING it amber glass is lying to you. Ask anyone who medicates on concentrates on a regular basis.
PVC leeches chemicals when you spray the butane through it, get yourself a stainless steel turkey baster from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's about the same price as the PVC and MUCH safer & cleaner. The errl looks decent tho. Keep up the good work man!
@brunometer i tried to find stainless steel tubing but the hardware stores didn't have any , I never thought about bb&b , ill get one before my next run, what do use to make it airtight ?
@SirSly420 You may need to put something around the adapter to make the top airtight ti spray into, but as for the tube just pack it full. They usually hold between 11-15 grams full so you only need about half a can of tane on average per tube. I know a few people who even got some stainless steel pipe cutters and chopped the tube down for smaller runs. BBB is the best place for stainless steel basters, 10 bux. It's well worth it :)

if you are just making a little bit your way is ok. But if you are making alot of oil you need to look up super critical extraction and look up soxhlet its all about refluxing you could get so much more out of your stash and you should wash it in a ice bath when your done and then purge it look it up

@SirSly420 As far as solvents go, I've used ISO and Butane. Then I used Denatured Alchohol. In my opinion, it's much better. It evaporates clean, is fairly cheap at 6 buck a quart, and you don't need to use as much when employing the jar and shake method, but I used a 18"x1" PVC tube and 4-3" metal screens and slowly pour the DA down the tube and through the weed. Evap takes about a half hour per cup of DA.
@SirSly420 i may correct myself though, im not saying your way is wrong just saying the preffered method, due to the end result is more oil, and good point with the hexen, but idk about in the states but the only way to obtain hexen is from a chemical factory in canada, so i think iso is the next best thing, just my opinion, although if you have less weed your way is more effective, iso is cheaper aswell butanes goes for like 5 a bottle up here

like no other!!!! potency is obviously fairly close, but with the beautiful apperance of it, it looks like something that you wouldnt even think was smokeable. it is beautiful and valuable, but if it's for your personal consumption, you will be just as happy whether it's what you have made, or the full amber glass. and i must say, just for purging the normal way, your product in your other video is beautiful and outstanding!!!! great job! thats the best ive seen with that method.
oh, and i just watched your other video. your product is pretty close, but 100% pure amber glass is a much lighter color and is more transparent. it is very beautiful in person. my batches are usually made for personal so i usually rush through them and skip a couple steps. this leaves me with a product that looks like yours from your other video. it's VERY potent. however, when i take the long time to do it all right and keep a very clean environment while doing it, i get a product which is
good try, but that isnt even wax. this isnt how you make real amber glass. real amber glass is as the name implies, a glass like substance. it's hard as a rock and you break a chunk off and smoke it. it gets the rock hard structure because the butane is chemically extracted. the butane in your product is what makes it gooey, if you pulled the butane out it would be pure and hard. your product is probably about 70% purity. the other 30% is the nonpolar bonded butane molecules.
@moosemanty trust me I've purged bho for hours before using boiling water changing the water at least 20 times and it still was gooey . It has to do with the quality of weed being used , the quality of the butane and the size if the tube . If u look at my second glass vid you will see some of the best amberglass on YouTube and I swear to god that only took 2 purges . So trust me this hash was fully purged . @SirSly420 dont get me wrong, your stuff looks amazing, and im sure it is, but it still isn't true amber glass. if it isnt actually a rock hard, transparent, amber 'glass', then it isnt real amber glass. you are 100% on the part about the quality of the material though. amber glass can usually only be made with pure bud(ive gotten a couple high quality trim batches to harden, but it has to be GOOD trim.). what you have done is not the process for making amber glass though. the initial non-polar
extraction is slightly varied to facilitate the secondary non polar extraction which come later on with the slightly purged bho. basically you want to do an extraction on the BHO in which the non polar extraction agent bonds to the left over unpurged butane molecules. you want the agent to be something that will bond to the butane molecule quickly, but slowly with the thc molecule. this allows it to extract all the butane out of your product but not a lot of thc. after that you evaporate the
agent used and you are left with a solid rock of thc.... i wont go into go into my extraction chemicals or my process because honestly it took me months of hard core searching around california and the internet to find someone to tell me the real way. this is the ONLY butane originated product that i have had clinics take. i've also never seen it sell off the shelf for less than $80 a gram

You would yield a lot more with a smaller tube. I recommend 1" stainless steel. The butane can does not have enough pressure to fill the cavity of that larger tube. The best yields come from the highest pressurization of butane when u spray. Basically u want high pressure with a short exposure time so the butane can penetrate even whole nugs and the high pressure allows the solvent to pass through your tube equally and will result in a higher yield extraction. I usually pull a gram for every 5.
@SirSly420 1"x12" is a good size. Check out okief.com They also have 2" x 15" tubes which hold 150 grams. Or you could make your own but it is hard to find the aircraft quality stainless steel which is real smooth and helps the tane slide through your tube better.

Hey man, awesome video and awesome product. The only difference I would have done is grind up all of your trim buds to get more surface area. The more surface area the butane contacts, the more product you have in the end. Peace.

@guitardude1230 grinding it gives darker bho from chlorophyll.To me it seems like with ungrounded you're just dissolving away the trichomes from the outer surface of plant without stripping green chlorophyll. grinding exposes more of the green plant matter which has really no active ingredients.. I'm not by any means an expert but have made it for 12 yrs. Also my credentials: i'm a product buyer, consultant and wax maker for one of the biggest mmj co-op's in orange county.

@dirtyj247365 I only know what I experience, and whenever I grind up the shake (not too finely mind you) and dont pack it tightly in the tube , I get more oil of a better quality. It never specifically comes out darker and has never been green, just more. Good to talk to you though man, keep workin hard for the industry while you can!

very nice vid. you can crush up that bud and run it again, as pointed out, but don't throw it away just yet. still a lot of trichs left after 2 runs with 5x refined. notice when you un-pack your tube, the buds/trim dry out very fast. let it sit a day after all vapors gone and run it again thru your bubble bags for hash or other extraction. too bad 99.5% doesn't come in cans...

@blackwolf90888 No it's not, I make amber glass. Amber coloured hash is just amber colored hash. Amber glass is a form of butane hash oil (BHO) that is purged to be superstable and rick hard, but transparent enough to see light through. Sorry man. Whoever is selling you amber coloured hash and CALLING it amber glass is lying to you. Ask anyone who medicates on concentrates on a regular basis.

PVC leeches chemicals when you spray the butane through it, get yourself a stainless steel turkey baster from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's about the same price as the PVC and MUCH safer & cleaner. The errl looks decent tho. Keep up the good work man!

@brunometer i tried to find stainless steel tubing but the hardware stores didn't have any , I never thought about bb&b , ill get one before my next run, what do use to make it airtight ?

@SirSly420 You may need to put something around the adapter to make the top airtight ti spray into, but as for the tube just pack it full. They usually hold between 11-15 grams full so you only need about half a can of tane on average per tube. I know a few people who even got some stainless steel pipe cutters and chopped the tube down for smaller runs. BBB is the best place for stainless steel basters, 10 bux. It's well worth it :)

if you are just making a little bit your way is ok. But if you are making alot of oil you need to look up super critical extraction and look up soxhlet its all about refluxing you could get so much more out of your stash and you should wash it in a ice bath when your done and then purge it look it up

@Seplophobia0 you obviously don't know what your talking about , ISO is a polar solvent which means your stripping everything from the plant including the plant matter not just the oils , if u like smoking chlorophyll and if like waiting over 24 hours for ISO to evaporate than go ahead , maybe u should try hexane if u like ISO ,hexane is a non-polar solvent used industrialy to extract oils like soy and so on , its much better than ISO . And i don't let go of the can until the pressure is gone .

@SirSly420 i havent had to wait 24 hours for the iso to evaporate, you just boil it off then happy smoking, and theres a pressure build up in the tube ive had a drained can blow off the end of my honey be extractor, and im pretty sure getting more oil thats more potent beats the hell out of less product thats not as potent as possible and risking brain lesions, and if you stil the plant matter off into the solvent you would have a very dark product, ive never made anything i couldnt see through.

@Seplophobia0 well here's what I know to be a fact - products that are polar extract best with a polar solvent , non polar products like oil and wax extract best with a non polar solvent like hexane or butane (hexane is better) . I started out with ISO 99% I liked the hash but too much powder formed in the center of the dish the oil only formed around the edges . I'd like to see your finished product how about a video ?

@SirSly420 As far as solvents go, I've used ISO and Butane. Then I used Denatured Alchohol. In my opinion, it's much better. It evaporates clean, is fairly cheap at 6 buck a quart, and you don't need to use as much when employing the jar and shake method, but I used a 18"x1" PVC tube and 4-3" metal screens and slowly pour the DA down the tube and through the weed. Evap takes about a half hour per cup of DA.

@SirSly420 i may correct myself though, im not saying your way is wrong just saying the preffered method, due to the end result is more oil, and good point with the hexen, but idk about in the states but the only way to obtain hexen is from a chemical factory in canada, so i think iso is the next best thing, just my opinion, although if you have less weed your way is more effective, iso is cheaper aswell butanes goes for like 5 a bottle up here

like no other!!!! potency is obviously fairly close, but with the beautiful apperance of it, it looks like something that you wouldnt even think was smokeable. it is beautiful and valuable, but if it's for your personal consumption, you will be just as happy whether it's what you have made, or the full amber glass. and i must say, just for purging the normal way, your product in your other video is beautiful and outstanding!!!! great job! thats the best ive seen with that method.

oh, and i just watched your other video. your product is pretty close, but 100% pure amber glass is a much lighter color and is more transparent. it is very beautiful in person. my batches are usually made for personal so i usually rush through them and skip a couple steps. this leaves me with a product that looks like yours from your other video. it's VERY potent. however, when i take the long time to do it all right and keep a very clean environment while doing it, i get a product which is

good try, but that isnt even wax. this isnt how you make real amber glass. real amber glass is as the name implies, a glass like substance. it's hard as a rock and you break a chunk off and smoke it. it gets the rock hard structure because the butane is chemically extracted. the butane in your product is what makes it gooey, if you pulled the butane out it would be pure and hard. your product is probably about 70% purity. the other 30% is the nonpolar bonded butane molecules.

@moosemanty trust me I've purged bho for hours before using boiling water changing the water at least 20 times and it still was gooey . It has to do with the quality of weed being used , the quality of the butane and the size if the tube . If u look at my second glass vid you will see some of the best amberglass on YouTube and I swear to god that only took 2 purges . So trust me this hash was fully purged . My next vid will be some bomb amberglass . Peace

@SirSly420 dont get me wrong, your stuff looks amazing, and im sure it is, but it still isn't true amber glass. if it isnt actually a rock hard, transparent, amber 'glass', then it isnt real amber glass. you are 100% on the part about the quality of the material though. amber glass can usually only be made with pure bud(ive gotten a couple high quality trim batches to harden, but it has to be GOOD trim.). what you have done is not the process for making amber glass though. the initial non-polar

extraction is slightly varied to facilitate the secondary non polar extraction which come later on with the slightly purged bho. basically you want to do an extraction on the BHO in which the non polar extraction agent bonds to the left over unpurged butane molecules. you want the agent to be something that will bond to the butane molecule quickly, but slowly with the thc molecule. this allows it to extract all the butane out of your product but not a lot of thc. after that you evaporate the

You would yield a lot more with a smaller tube. I recommend 1" stainless steel. The butane can does not have enough pressure to fill the cavity of that larger tube. The best yields come from the highest pressurization of butane when u spray. Basically u want high pressure with a short exposure time so the butane can penetrate even whole nugs and the high pressure allows the solvent to pass through your tube equally and will result in a higher yield extraction. I usually pull a gram for every 5.

@SirSly420 1"x12" is a good size. Check out okief.com They also have 2" x 15" tubes which hold 150 grams. Or you could make your own but it is hard to find the aircraft quality stainless steel which is real smooth and helps the tane slide through your tube better.
