You're welcome, CBSEye. Don't know if you have other songs by the Fireflies, but I also really love "Because of My Pride," in particular, as well as "What Took You So Long."
No apologies necessary! Thanks for sharing this song, one og the greatest in early rock 'n' roll. They did a superb recreation! No shortcuts. Is that the original lead singer on the record? Sure sounds like it! Again, Thanks. - JG
No, if you check the old photos, its not Ritchie. He sounds like the original, but he's not the original. Ritchie looks nothing like this man singing! I know for certain it isn't him.
OK, thanks. I never saw Ritchie in person, and assumed it was him since he sounded like Ritchie, and they normally do not put groups on these shows that do not have the original lead.
Wonderful! The song was performed as it was recorded giving us that could not see it performed when it originally came out an opportunity to see it now. Thanx!
One of the all time great lead singers. I wish the great music of Paul's time would come back. Until then, I'll keep playing my doo-wop cd's and use U-tube.
If you want more doo-wop, tune in the Doowop Cafe (dot net). I do a show every Tues night from 10pm to midnight Eastern time. We have DJs all day, every day.
I love the woman who jabs her (alleged) husband in the ribs! She's reminiscing while he looks totally confused or just concentrating hard on the magnificent performance? I love it. I especially love this classic song. It should be the Teen Anthem for the 1950s! Thank you for uploading.
Tell your grandpa he is most welcome. It was so great to see the Fireflies on this tv special, since I had never seen them before, and always loved their sound!
Wow that was a long time ago. My grandpa wrote this song. His name is Paul Giacalone and he also wrote I can't say goodbye he started the fireflies and I love him!!! I actually just got back from one of his concerts! I love being a VIP lol!
