Thank you, twofinedays, for uploading this beautiful piece. Sublime music, sublime playing - and beautiful photography to match. The piece has special meaning for me - a moving experience to see the close- ups of Kyung-Wha as she puts her soul into the Bartok - and draws his soul out in her interpretation. Thank you again.

nocturnal and misterious atmosphere surrounds this 2nd movement, andante tranquillo with a touch of dreaming lyricism, this 2nd Bartok violin concert was premiered in Amsterdam on march 23, 1939 by friend and interpreter Zolktán Székely. Bartok wrote it between 1937-38
