I'm not sure about the island being used in Wii Fit, but I remember the dev / producer (Whoever it was) saying that the island used in Wii Sports Resort probably will appear in future games and could become a staple location to the Nintendo franchise.

In addition, are there rankings scaling to Pro as in the original Wii Sports? Like after every event you gain so many points, and at 2,000 you reach the 'pro' level?

As far as "pro" goes I'm not sure, but as you can see when I finish an event, there is the point scale, with a line at 1000 on nearly every event.
