I think YMO wanted to joke about 2 things: first, about those Japanese people who laugh and smile kindly to foreigners even if they couldn't speak any english; and then, about those foreigners who just have stupid stereotypes in their minds about Japan. Consider that this album was released over 30 years ago, at that time there was a lot of international stereotypes everywhere in the world (even more than today). Anyway, YMO are genius.

@michinco I think you think too much. I lived in Japan. The joke is the guy laugh's as if he understands, but doesn't so in effect the first guy can say what the hell he likes. This can work in any culture. Anyway this is Snakeman Show and they usually do what they like. Funny as fuck if you ask me.
