This show seemed to SLOW for kids to watch and tune in every weekend! It looks like it would've worked better as a web series! There needed to be more storytelling and half-hour episodes were not enough. The story of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is complicated and would be better if they had 1 hour episodes like Smallville or Supernatural. More would be unraveled for us every weekend instead of dragging it out...not to mention they had TWO RECAP EPISODES :(. Hope they make more kamen rider shows :D
@MrDarkBernard I disagree that this was made as a Web Series because this show was intended for TVs but I agree that they should've made it into an hour long with the same amount of episodes.

What does Ryuki offer? True! They have Shinji and Ren but (TBC)
then the rest (except for Miyuki) are bunches of jerkasses and are not acting as real Kamen Riders. Look here, the original 10 and the rest before Ryuki made sure that they are Kamen Riders by being warriors of justice. Ryuki ended up deconstructing Kamen Rider in a very brutal way.
-Everyone is an anti hero.
-Riders killing each other so as a selfish wish is to be granted.
-Broke the tradition.
Dragon Knight reconstructs what Ryuki has done damage.
Fact is that Dragon Knight is a solid show and it doesn't replace Ryuki; they're totally different shows. Actually, Ryuki's idea wasn't really original. It's freakin' HIGHLANDER in terms of concept and story. Dragon Knight's story is completely original and they just took the license.
If that is your take on adaptations, then you'll say the same thing on Battle Fever J. It was based from CAPTAIN AMERICA. If you do, then you sir are an idiot. :P

Dragon Knight 's plot around an alien invasion and an ultra-secret agency might be as generic (not to say "American" ^^) as it gets, but I still like it better than Ryuki's, where it was all just a big, twisted game.

They may be fellow tokusatsus but not that they are ripping off anything from the other. Look here, Kamen Rider came way back than Power Rangers for it even pre-dated its source, Super Sentai which came 4-5 years after Kamen Rider. This however is following the original Kamen Rider in its footsteps of Good VS Evil plot.

@decade848 It was actually Japan that allowed the US to create an adaptation for Ryuki and not that they were by themselves. Why? Japan wanted Kamen Rider to be re-introduced to the States, as well as the entire world which virtually knew it.

@ezone36 The Wang Bros. have announced that they want to take on Faiz next. For the plot, I only hope that they make it a direct sequel to Dragon Knight. Setting all Heisei Riders in the same world would make it easier to one day adaptate Decade. ;)

This show seemed to SLOW for kids to watch and tune in every weekend! It looks like it would've worked better as a web series! There needed to be more storytelling and half-hour episodes were not enough. The story of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is complicated and would be better if they had 1 hour episodes like Smallville or Supernatural. More would be unraveled for us every weekend instead of dragging it out...not to mention they had TWO RECAP EPISODES :(. Hope they make more kamen rider shows :D

@Archzenom I didn't say it was made as a Web Series. I said it seemed like one. It has a more mature feeling to it and the execution of the story was too slow, so an internet audience is more appropriate for things like that. It's almost like the new Mortal Kombat Web Series that is out right now.

If KRDK would be like Mortal Kombat Legacy then those with no internet connection would be left out in the oblivion. I mean, they won't see it and so it would lessen the actual viewers as a whole, unless they go to their nearest internet cafes.

BTW, Dragon Knight doesn't really replace Ryuki; it's more like a DIFFERENT show and nothing else,, implying that Dragon Knight exists in order to bring the franchise in the US.

- The Good VS Evil plot.
- The Hero either always gets kidnapped by the bad guys or taken by the good guys and turned into Kamen Riders.
- There is more plot execution than ever with their character development.
- Greater emphasis on justice.
- More lawful than Ryuki.
What does Ryuki offer? True! They have Shinji and Ren but (TBC)

then the rest (except for Miyuki) are bunches of jerkasses and are not acting as real Kamen Riders. Look here, the original 10 and the rest before Ryuki made sure that they are Kamen Riders by being warriors of justice. Ryuki ended up deconstructing Kamen Rider in a very brutal way.
-Everyone is an anti hero.
-Riders killing each other so as a selfish wish is to be granted.
-Broke the tradition.
Dragon Knight reconstructs what Ryuki has done damage.

Fact is that Dragon Knight is a solid show and it doesn't replace Ryuki; they're totally different shows. Actually, Ryuki's idea wasn't really original. It's freakin' HIGHLANDER in terms of concept and story. Dragon Knight's story is completely original and they just took the license.
If that is your take on adaptations, then you'll say the same thing on Battle Fever J. It was based from CAPTAIN AMERICA. If you do, then you sir are an idiot. :P

Dragon Knight 's plot around an alien invasion and an ultra-secret agency might be as generic (not to say "American" ^^) as it gets, but I still like it better than Ryuki's, where it was all just a big, twisted game.
And after all, Dragon Knight is still more serious than Power Rangers.

i've been reading these comments and it's like most of yall actualy like Ryuiki is because they kill eac other instead of "vent" each other. A show does not have to have death in it for it to be a good show. if you're gonna like Ryuiki more than DK then have better reasons than: the actors aren't asian, no killing, & the plot sucks; if u say DK's good vs evil plot sucks then ur saying that almost every Rider series before and after Ryuuiki sucks.

@benjaminzer In terms of retroactive story and plot as well as the henshin stuffs, Dragon Knight owns Ryuki a lot.
- We have seen glowing and spinning henshin buckle upon transformation.
- Have seen at least 2 who has transforming bikes just like 1go and 2go of the 1st Kamen Rider show.
- Have seen betrayal against evil done by Master Eubulon who is both 1go (by rebellion) and Riderman (as a tactician).
- Have a Good VS Evil plot which is Showa Era inspired collaborated with Heisei (TBC).

Here's a tip: It's better that you should watch Dragon Knight before making your own judgment and set aside your biases. It's nothing more than contrived KR drama which sucks when it comes to mainstream reception, senseless KR vs KR fanservice w/c you love to worship and a fucktacular ending. Ryuki's plot was fragile and weak. It wasn't even "deep" as everyone claimed it to be.
