@Erannzz you take this verse out of context. Read from verse 1 of this surah. It says that there was a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Mushriqs (pagans) of Makkah. This treaty was violated by the Mushriqs of Makkah. A period of four months was given to the Mushriqs of Makkah to make amends. Otherwise war would be declared against them. It was quoted at the time of the battle. Let me give you an example of this

The Qur'aan is a guide for the WHOLE of MANKIND. Not just for Muslims. My advice to you is to read the whole Qur'aan because nowadays what you see isn't what the Qur'aan says.

You need to realise you must read the Qur'aan in context as that is where people go astray
