I noticed that very few of these clips from Sesame Street were the live-action ones that came before the big Sesame Street Library books, and likewise, the scenes from these books were inspired by the show, including "Counting and Eating cookies", "The Boy, The Girl & The Jellybeans", and the "Banana Cream Pie #4" clip seen here. As the song goes, "If you could sneak a peak inside, oh, what wonderful things you'll find!"
Reading your post about "The Boy, the Girl and the Jellybeans" inspired me to see if it was up on You Tube. Unfortunatley, I could not find it! Maybe someday, somebody will upload it for us!
Yeah. Apparently, the Spanish Bert has strep throat. LOL
Still, I love these first season Ernie and Bert sketches and this one's worth the whole nine yards ...that is to say the whole nine stars ...if I could rate this as nine, Oh, you get the idea.
Tell me about it--back in the days when I could get Plaza Sésamo on PBS, my best friend thought the Spanish Muppet voices sounded angry _and_ drunk. ;-) Still, the new voice fits Bert's typical mood to a T.
I remember they did the same story in the Sesame Street Storybook. Only Bert was holding a number 5. Ernie thought it was a banana cream pie or a chocolate cream pie. Bert then showed him a chocolate cream pie and Ernie thought it was number 5 and Bert hit him with the pie. Ernie goes, "Who wants to get hit with a number 5? YUM YUM!"
Thanks. :) I remember the book version kept the tradition of the classic SS. Bert called Ernie a meatball and a birdbrain for getting the wrong guesses.
Plus, I always like seeing segments in Spanish, especially ones I've never seen. And believe me, you all will be seeing plenty of those from me int he future.
I don't mean to be rude, but will they mostly be from the 70's and 80's. I'm just asking because, I'm mostly interested in Sesame Street sketches that are from those eras that are dubbed in Spanish...mainly the "Muppet-only sketches.
"¿Quién quiere que le estrellen un 4 en la cara?" xD

is it just me or does the voice over for Bert sound more angry/annoyed than usual?

A classic is a classic in any language; still, I wonder why the number was changed in the book version. Five stars for a great memory, in any case...

I'll have to check the list I made (yeah, I'm that sad) of the segments I have, but there's quite a few 70's and 80's bits I have.

I hope the English version gets posted soon.
