  • Subtitles don't do it's justice , nevertheless , amazing job , I am so proud -3

  • This movie shows how relations between humans is complex. A very great movie

  • I would say that the subtitle translation is not perfect, so it seems obvious that people who know Farsi enjoy it way more than others.

  • Truly amazing movie. Felt every bit

    Respects from Pakistan

  • amazzzzzzzzzing movie!!!!!

  • pratestern and hiuman:

I thank you both for your comments, clearing that dubbing matter up for me.

Now I undestand it better. cheers

  • Damn good movie! Wonderful script and superb acting!

From your friend to the north in Armenia.

  • I cannot possibly see how anyone can side with Simin. She wants Nader to abandon his father who , despite not recognizing him, needs his son's love and attention. It is much worse to do so than to forfeit a better life for his daughter - after all, his daughter is still cared for (he wouldn't be betraying her by staying in Iran). Simin is pressuring Nader to make a choice that is beyond reprehensible. Just think about this and tell me the role she doesn't play in the outset is not villainous.

  • I wish non-persians would understand and just feel the movie like persians do.. the subtitles just doesnt capture everthing.

  • Pumpernickel4u; Thanks for clearing this out. Now it all does make sense to me. Thank you.

  • @frankahmadi No she meant he doesnt want to go with him

  • The dubbing needs correction I think, at T18, "He won't leave with me" what does that mean?

the second line of the caption. She must have meant --He won't live with me. Huh?

  • @frankahmadi

No she says "He won't leave with me" I speak Farsi. In the movie, the woman wants to leave Iran and live in Germany with their daughter, but her husband wants to stay in Iran to take care of his father.

  • @frankahmadi It's actually correct. She wants to leave the country but he wont leave with her.

  • F R E E - I R A N

  • PROUD TO BE PERSIAN

  • Well done Iran and bravo asghar farhadi!!!

  • mashallah

  • Free Iran :( !

  • congrats to asghar farhadi

  • I'd like to use this opportunity to congratulate my fellow Persian people. Director Asghar Farhadi's achievement on winning the Oscar a few hours ago felt like my own victory.

    BRAVO!

  • ok where is the other half of the subtitles cuz its not complete

  • Persian and Proud

  • Subtitles are a little off , but seems like a good movie.

  • I'm proud of director.. He made a great speech at oscars! Good luck to Iranian cinema

  • Very good film!! Put me in tears, I honestly feel that this film should be in the same catagory as Best Picture for the Oscars not just foreign.

  • This movie looks so good! I need to see it asap!!!!

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • gonna watch this tomorrow!

  • The subtitle really sucks. There is no dubbing in English speaking world ? thanks French with their amazing dubbed version.

  • Really liked it. Better than all the Best Picture nominations at the Oscars in my opinion

  • @BTOF I think the only reason they didn't nominate it this year was because it might have been past the voting deadline. Like, it literally came out RIGHT before 2012 (Dec. 30). But if the deadline still wasn't over, yeah, I'd say it was a mistake for them not to nominate this.

  • Amazing movie! Totally love it -3

  • Great movie!!

  • Hijaab Lady. Very Beautiful!

  • HOLY CRAP WHY ARE FOREIGN FILMS ALWAYS 10000X TIMES BETTER THAN WESTERN FILMS?

They are 10000x better yet 100000x times cheaper

  • @cssftw100 My guess is that that is because the shitty ones don't make it across to us. I'm sure if you went to Paris, Tokyo, Tehran even, and went to a theatre and watched all of their films, a good chunk of them would be pretty shit.

  • @kevincgrabb on the contrary, i have witnessed many Iranian movies, and non have I ever seen to be called "shit", you will never , ever understand the true masters piece of Iranian movies unless you are Iranian. Iranian always had great movies and great actors.

    Peace.

  • this movie for me is right there at the level of top-top movies(like shawshank redemption, pianist)...i think 8.6 in IMDB doesn't justify how beautiful this movie is !! -- Greeting from INDIA

  • awesomely awesome movie!!

  • someone please recommend any other good iranian films(modern recent films)..i've watched quite a few old iranian films(filmed in the 80s and early 90s)...i wanna watch newer films(made in the last few years)...thank you.

  • @heomak : "about ٍElly"... (درباره الی) , by Asghar Farhadi

  • @shhn001 thank you!

  • @heomak i recommend watching series too, not just movies.

Where are you from if you dont mind me asking? Just curious.

  • @AnOTHERPRoDUCTi0N what's series? is that the title of a movie??? i google SERIES but no iranian movie showed up. i'm from india & am a big fan of iranian movies...i hope to someday visit iran(i can't afford to now because of busy lifestyle)...but someday, before i leave this earth, i know i will drop by iran. the landscape(esp remote mountain villages) look so beautiful.

  • @heomak watch Reza Motori, its by one of the best actors of Iran, best movies before the revolution of Iran. His name is Behrouz Vossoughi, Also I would check out Samad!, very funny and ingenious acting and directing.

  • @heomak If you want anymore jsut ask me, i have a website that you can watch serials and movies, i think it has subtitles im not too sure as i dont really pay attention to such when im watching.

  • @AnOTHERPRoDUCTi0N yes please send me the link to the website where i can watch iranian movies(i hope they have english subtitles or else i won't be able to understand what they're saying)...thanks

  • @heomak I'm not sure if you'll like them all but here's a list on top of my mind:

Certified Copy ('10), 10 on Ten ('04), Taste of Cherry ('97), About Elly ('09), A Time for Drunken Horses ('00)

  • @heomak to name another good iranian movie, I must recommend every one to see

voroud-eh aghayam mamnou'a ast, ورود آقایان ممنوع است ," gentelmen are not allowed in"

    I really enjoyed that movie.

  • I'm definitely going to go see this movie!!!!!!!!!

  • ONE OF MY Fav MOVIE .i speak urdu and it contains too many persian words ! we have same accent too .

  • to all those who liked this film, i recommend "About Elly" too

  • the subtitles in this trailer are a bit weak, but overall, this film is really powerful ! Thank you Asghar for making us proud !

  • i will say this about Iranian movies

they are low budget and lack any kind of special effects

but they don't lack in Drama and damn Good script

  • @Eldrad235 the best movies "m like mother" or "the children of heaven" or "the colour of paradise" etc. etc. were all Iranian movies

  • good job, I am proud of you all.

  • @parvinbavafagallery Does that include me?

  • DUDE spoilers!!!!

  • Why are some white people so daft? Persians are NOT Arabs!!

  • asghar farhadi ( the director) is great!!! he is a legend ... I remember his last movie too ... about eli ... he is fantastic ... and a sepration was perfect ... thank you sir for your wonderful job ... thanks for presenting iran ... viva persia!

  • I hated the subtitles while I was watching it in the cinema - I was thinking poor danish people soo much they are missing out on ...

  • fantasitic , grt

  • This film was insanely good. It made me want to go out and show it to everyone. I'd be really disappointed if it didn't win the Oscar.

  • the subtitle of this is so wrong:|

  • @Ojeleh it's actually spot on, especially considering the subtitles of past movies

  • @PersianLord1995 the substitles are actually really bad.

  • @aydin690 yes exactly! this should be top comment they missed of sooo many words in the subtitles.. :/

  • @PersianLord1995 no she said bachash seght shode....they wrote like...its an emergency?!!!!!!!

  • @Ojeleh =)) !!! and it's totally different ! it's an emergency ! then => your charge is murder

  • @TheBr0ws3r By that logic all the idioms in Persian should be translated word by word into English. This is called translation , It might not match every word but will replace those words with appropriate words in the target-language.

  • Should be an Oscar contender in the Best Foreign film category.

  • Exceptional film! Much respect.

  • This trailer is horrible, it gives way too much away yet is misleading at the same time. BRILLIANT film, hands down my favorite film of the year but this trailer does it no justice.

  • Does anybody know the musicsong?

  • To the 8 idiots who disliked this movie, this movie is too good for you go fuck yourselves and watch Transformers again.

  • @blahblah999ash: Somebody just got scorched...:D

  • According to studies marriage is the leading cause of divorce.

  • @freakman707 I did not know that, is that true?

  • @freakman707 According to the same study , the main cause of death is also discovered. It is life. :)

  • @freakman707 According to studies, jumping up is the leading cause of falling down.

  • Honestly, one of the best movies I've seen in years.

  • Shit just got real.

  • these are persians....not arbas.

    arabs can't act!!!

  • @LASuperboy dude aren't you racist..anyone can act..race does not matter..get educated you fool

  • btw the way im from Greece , Fuck u ! arbs movies much better then yr movie , check how many egyptian movies got award and see how many arb actor are famous around the words ... Stop racist !!

  • @armanda655 i just pointed out the fact that this is a persian movie because some poeple were confusing it with arabs...in any case it doesn't concern me...i'm not arab or persian...i'm an american.

  • Comment removed

  • They R not arabs

  • i wanna watch this. :)

  • IDK why but I get the feeling that the wife is somehow involved in her husband's murder charge

  • @phoney98 if it's been at that many film festivals, chances are there won't be any 'government propaganda bs'. Not watching a film because of the country it comes from is ridiculous and unfair. In my opinion Iranian films are amongst the very best in the world, perhaps you'll agree with me if you watch gems like Children of Heaven, Song of the Sparrows (directed by Majid Majidi) and Offside (directed by Jafar Panahi).

  • @phoney98

    shut the fuck ass wipe

  • @phoney98 "if it wasn't Iranian"...WTF does that even mean? "Government propaganda" my ass. Stop being a racist and go educate yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • where do u rent or buy this movie?

  • they are human...and this look's good

  • nothing like a movie with a plot in any language....and marriage and family life well that is universal. key with movies is move it along with "plot points" this has that.

  • just another piece of zionist aniti muslim ,,,, anti iran propaganda to make americans support the war :P

  • dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • Ha! This looks like one of the most decent movies off all recently uploaded by MovieClipsTRAILERS yet not much comments on it.... shows people rather prefer watching brainless flicks like Cabin in the Woods over this... smh

  • @bee5120 odd I am more for the films with plots and sometimes foreign films do that well as this one does, but I thought the Cabin in the Woods trailer looked good too, and I don't usually go for that genre....key is plot points to move it along in unpredicatable ways. HUGO in 3-D was great by the way for all ages in all nations. BEST.

  • Hope this is playing near me.

  • I saw it, and It blew me away! I didn't feel like I was watching a movie! It felt so natural!

  • @nobody196 that is the most difficult for directors and actors, to make it seem real and natural....good movies this year.

  • @thepixieful Exactly, that's why I loved it! When they premiered it in New York for two days, I went for both days. It was very inspiring.

  • @nobody196

all Iranian movies are like this.

go to IMDB and check out some other movies. I haven't watched this but I'm pretty sure that it has nothing on Colour of Paradise. That's my favorite Iranian movie.

  • @goooooooooooooz Agreed! from what I've heard, Yek Habbe Ghand's very good too! Iranian movies are very good in general, because they follow the things that they're suppose to follow!

P.s. I'm loving ur accounts name! it's awesome!

  • how come ? problems like this come only with arabs in movies ?

  • @frntfrnt they are persians not arabs

  • so what ? persian or arbs or whatever its still movie to watch to everyone not only persians , stop being racist !

  • @frntfrnt No it's not. People of all races experience this type of problem.

  • Highly fucking recommended.

  • and then he went out into the dessert and shot down one of Dick Chaney's drones :p
