I own a brushless HPI baja 5B And it rocks. It will blow away a heavily moded gas baja. and I can run it whenever I want without the neihbors calling the cops! I have two losi 8ight 2.0s, one nitro with a Werks racing engine, the other is an electric with the mamba monster 2200kv on a 4s lipo and even though the nitro is fast and powerful, the electric is a whole diffrent beast. its way more powerful on takeoff and easily has a much higher topspeed than my nitro. also at our local track we race the nitro and electric buggys together if there arent enough to make 2 seperate classes and when we do combine them, the electrics always destroy on the nitros.
who said anything about non-chinese? also far from noob here mr. and what the hell can you do at these suggested speeds? this is far from what these buggies were designed for and in my opinion this conversion is not practical at all. especially for that price. i could custom build my own 1/5 street speed machine with fat brushless power for speeds in the 80's mph for much less. in fact my last custom build hit 67mph and i had $275 invested.
Next is probably a 1/1 scala brushless Hemi!!convert a 60cc in a 5b instead of that

@30brighter Feel free to find a non-chinese clone esc and motor ( true 1/5 scale car esc, not a boat or plane controller ) that can dish out over 5HP and handle 8s lipo without breaking a sweat. If you knew anything about the r/c industry then you'd know that revealing the exact specs and performance of a system is a bad idea; some other company will come along and say their system has better specs- they know 99% of people cant test the specs accurately either. Noob.
in my opinion that just takes the cool right out of the baja. i watched some vids on electric conversion 5b's and with no bark they seem like just another electric rc.

All in all It's roughly the same investment, and a good alternative for those who either simply enjoy brushless or do not want to disturb neighbors. Hopefully HPI brings an 'HPI Flux' with the castle gear to market.
