  • sounded more like an edjucational chanell lol

  • I've been LARPing for 2 years now and finally for the first time ever i have the chance to learn sword fighting, thanks to you. Thank you ever so much.

  • My messages seem to get lost more and more.

    F...#@!//#..ng utube bugs.

    Anyways.

I have watched this clip several times, and I do not get the difference between a #7 and a#8. What I see is a stab. The 7 parried on one side the 8 parried on the other. But both a stab.

Since the rest of your clips makes a lot of sense and shows your competence I asume that I am to thick to get it.

Could you please elaborate, good Sir?

take care and have a nice day

    silk

    ;-))

  • Thank you sir, very informative. I'll be sure to watch all of your videos.

  • sounds windy

  • Woooow

    Real cool

  • ROFL! You remind me of me teaching my group.

Where are you guys located? You have a website? How many numbers are your Knights? And are you willing to merge or battle another group?

  • ''Attack - Defend'' THX m8! i subs :)

  • mooooooobbbbbbillllllittttty

  • i have fought with boffers a few trimes, i am still not happy withmy results, although i only boffer when a ren fest comes around my area, yearly, thanks for the info, andthe video we all could use some improving... thanks

  • altho its one of your first its my fave.

  • 5:27 you crossed your feet. What's the number one rule of fighters again?

  • stay alive? LOL your right..good eye.

  • But right after I notice you're not crossing your feet anymore, so I guess you could play it off as an example of easily getting killed moving that way.

  • great vid i like to block low to the hilt keep my wrists from hurting as much but still a great intro to boffers

  • very excellent indeed o' sensei of gray (not related to Morihei Ueshiba) but still!!! (i need to remember who the founder of my current teachings is) anyway... i hope these will come in use against the new additions (members) to my movie team. (as i'm sure they will) for as you can see from my weapon demo i have hardly any skill. but now i can test their skill and not make a fool of myself. thanks again my man. (btw i clapped)

  • can you make a boffer sheild making video?

  • not at this time, but...I amworking on ideas about such things so keep watching and I will see what I can do.

  • @chasehaggardisblack take a sheet of foam and tape it to a double layer solid cardboard back. Put 4 holes through both of the cardboard layers, positioned diagonally across from each other. Then take two segments of rope and loop them through the holes, one for your elbow crook and the other to grasp with your hand.

  • @chasehaggardisblack take a sheet of foam and tape it to a double layer solid cardboard back. Put 4 holes through both of the cardboard layers, in pairs, positioned diagonally across from each other. Then take two segments of rope and loop each through its own pair of holes, one for your elbow crook and the other to grasp with your hand.

  • Thank you for these Mr. Gray. They're very interesting fro me because I want o learn some swordfighting to square against my brothers hehe!

  • Thanks And I am glad that you like my vids. good luck with your brothers

  • well, it was funny, the center of gravity bit was correct, but the strikes you're doing (like 3 and 4) are for the most part ineffective. you'd want to step towards the opponent in larger steps than you are taking, in order to hit them and not their weapon. but good job on the vid.

  • I agree. But to start off on lesson one i thought that I would start with basic strikes and then move forward. I agree that if you do not move into the attack area there is no point to even swing...unless you are setting your oponent up.

    Thanks for the input

  • Excellent stuff, I think the angles are different for spears because they can do sweeps and other stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • *round of applause* ^^

  • clap clap clap

  • I clapped!!

I love your videos, my friends are starting me in boffering, and I've been looking to learn how. I'm going escrima sticks style :D

  • Well thanks for the clap. I am glad you found me. I hope that I can pass on whatever it is you might need. Keep in touch.

  • Will gray i want to start boffering but i don't know where to find a boffer. Where can i get one of them, and how much are they?

  • Watch his other videos!! :D

  • no one is that noob!

  • you mean the "Say it with me.." bit. I agree. I was being silly, and my original thought was to do all ofthem that way, but in the end.. one was funny...two would be annoying.

  • OMG, WTF?!?!? It seems a bit redundant teaching someone how to "play" with toys. We all learned that as kids, didn't we?

  • well...some people haven't learned how to play certain games, or use certain toys. Hell, some full grown men still go play, dress-up and play with toys...makes em feel big. For me, I am just trying to teach some basic skills to the new people, because I understand that there are many people out there to busy trying to get their ego stroked to actually help any but themselves. Instead I use toys (as you put it) so that the people I teach can learn and be safe.

  • Nope, that's not going to be a good enough explanation. I've taught many over the last ten years how to safely fight with steel weapons instead of toys.

Suffice to say, you are a TOOL. But hey, have fun with that.

  • I thank you for your openion.. This world is filled with many ways to do things. May I give you something to think on? I work to raise people up, you seem to find joy in brining people down. (Or we wouldn't be haveing this conversation) wich is the greater path? I may work with toys...I may be a tool. But i understand honor and respect, and live my days by them. Thanks for your words, it reminds me of where I stand.

  • Boy, you really told me. Whatever will I do now?

    You are sooo cool....

  • I meant it not as an attack. Peace.

  • This is waht you were talking about. Where people are going off on their own little fights using your essage board as a mock battleground. Oh well, What can you do?

  • I would have to say that the explanation IS good enough. TO try to make claims you are better because you 'play' with different 'toys' (and yes even steel weapons are toys) or you believe you are toughter because you look down on others for thier hobbies just goes to prove that you are a sad little boy in a mans body trying to boost his own shattered ego by downing others. Some of us have lives and a better grasp on reality not to play as 'hardcore' as you think you do.

  • No one was talking to you Tub-o-Guts. Seeing as you have no grasp about what I do, or why, you should quit throwing out psyco-babble rhetoric like you are superior to someone just 'cuz they can kick your ass. Surely you've gotten used to it by now.... being a pussy, I mean.

  • Wow big words. I fully grasp what you do AND what you think you do. You believe you are all big and tough, prove it. Meet me for a one one one battle right here in Pittsburgh. Real swords, no armor. Unless you are all words. Don't bother answering answering unless you are able to accept the battle from this 'Tub-o-Guts' Of course that is SIR Tub-o-Guts to you child.

  • Seriously? You want to throw out a challenge like that? I'd love nothing more!!

I will say though, that since you've called the challenge... I pick the place. I'll PM you with details.

  • You do not understand I officially challenge YOU to a real Viking challenge. As in the true home land of the Viking forefathers. On the cliffs of Bankeveien. 3 shields. End of story. If you have any true Viking heritage in you, which I doubt, then you shall know where to meet. Aug 20th 2008 18:00

Your honour and your made up group are all ready in question. Silence until the day of battle.

  • I rest my case.... YOU are a FREAK!

My "made up group"? Don't dig any deeper hole for yourself, windbag.

  • yeah I thought so.

Go play with your friends and stop wasting bandwidth.

Other then that have a nice day.

  • dig dig dig dig

  • Good tutorial, WillGrey! Thank you!

  • Will, you are so cool. Hehe, loved your response to Distortion001's comment. I'm so proud of you.

  • hahaha...

you are a funny little man Will.

great vid, and nice flippy boffer trick at 5.00

    keep em' coming

  • Thanks. That is what I was going for. I thought to myself, "Self. Why be normal?" It has made all the difference.

  • I love it that this is all one shot!

  • caught that did you? There is more, and the idea is to continue in this fashion.

  • Hooray for free lessons! You rock!
