  • Where's Kylie??? She mentioned seeing a Grundel in XGB.

  • My boyfriend is 28 years old an still has all his ghostbuster stuff from the 80s he says these cartoons will never get old an he will never stop watching them let alone give up his ghostbuster stuff. Trust me he has everything from the old ghostbuster toys

  • OMG, the writer of Babylon 5 wrote this episode. lol

  • The grundel, samhain, and the boogeyman are the best ghostbuster villans. They should make all 3 villans as a set of toys. All 3 in 1 package.

  • What I don't get it what made Peter become so nice to Slimer when in the earlier years he was always picking on him and everything. Lorenzo's Peter would have tried to blast Slimer for sleeping in his bed whilst Dave's Peter is very laid back. I don't have a problem with either but ever since the voice change, Peter's treated Slimer like a real friend.

  • the grundel is such nightmare fuel especially when he reappears in the extreme ghostbusters

  • This scared the mess outta me as a child!

  • 3.5 minutes ? to strip a car ? the kids an evil supermen 0.0

  • the ghostbusters fight the area between the asshole, and the balls

  • The Grundel has one of the creepiest voices i love it.

  • i don't see what the deal is. I like both Lorenzo's AND Coulier's voice acting on Peter. I mean we should be happy that "The Real Ghostbusters / Slimer & the Real Ghostbusters" were able to make 6 season back in the day, and not be so nit picky.

  • I always loved how NYC at night in this cartoon had like nobody outside

  • the proton pack is not a toy.

  • this is scaryest cartoon!!!!!!!!!!

  • have you got epsiode called flip side?

  • This episode used to freak me out as a kid.

  • @rencrow haha me too scariest shit ever

  • does anyone know the name of the episode where they enter a bizzarro world and have to fight against ghost versions of themselves?

  • @bulletproofKevlar I think it's called 'flip side'

  • remember this episode because of the scary creature and also because I was about the same the age of Alec or Lee when this aired.

  • not sure why Ray and Peter think most ghosts can't read. The ghosts they fight are the ghosts of people, not aliens or monsters?

  • The cartoons today are so dumb. This actually has a PLOT.

  • this is funny!!

  • Wow, that Jabberwocky is straight out of a Tenniel print. Sweet!

  • "No way am I THAT tired... yes I am." XD

  • "No way am THAT tired... Yes I am." XD

  • There are so many scenes in the series where the ghostbusters are tired, or in bed. So, so many.

  • Aleck's the kind of sick brat who you hope ends up getting killed or trapped in some horrible dimension at the end of the episode.

Of course you know that that's not going to happen...and that he's going to end up "reforming" and the end of the episode ("I'm sorry. I didn't know what I was doing. I'll be good from now on..."blah blah blah), be forgiven, hugs and kisses all around...ect.

    Blech.

  • Sometimes I wanted to show the adults when I was young.

  • The darkest episode of the whole series. The TV broadcasting company that firstly ran this series in Mexico didn't aired this episode. I watched the episode for the first time when the other broadcasting company re-ran the series years later.

  • @tbcpuebla the darkest? I dunno. The Boogeyman and several other episodes were pretty hefty and had a real element of horror.

  • @TheGreaterGood80 well. I wasn't scared by the Boogeyman. There were other episodes that were scary, like the one with the vampires in Lupus Ville or something.

  • Alec, if a ghost touches you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, tell a responsible adult!

  • I think a lot of you are being way too harsh on Dave Coulier. Just because he doesn't seem to be the Peter you liked at the begginning doesn't mean you should bang on about how useless he is. In fact, Bill Murray himself said that Dave's portrayal was more accurate than Lorenzo Music's, including the voice similarities. Lorenzo kind of overdid the wisecracks and sarcasm and Peter isn't that pushy and comical. Lorenzo was okay but he sounds like he still stuck to Garfield. Give Dave more credit.

  • @perfume1965 Why? Because the "new" Peter is FLAT. Prior to changes, every one of the ghostbusters had something specific, something characteristic and so typical that you could identify each character with. Peter used to be overly sarcastic and annoying to some but that is what made his character unique, interesting and intriguing. After the changes were made, Peter was sort of "flattened out" and became a nothing-special character.

  • @perfume1965 I will NEVER give Coulier any credit!! He made Peter sound DUMB. Lorenzo was fantastic as Peter. His sarcastic portayal made Venkman hilarious, which is what a character for kids should be. NOT tht stupid dumb sounding Coulier. In fact, I hate his voice so much I'm currently redubbing some of the Coulier episodes with Lorenzo Musics voice. I will upload them to my channel as soon as I have them done.

  • Gozer much?

Looks like I'm not the only one who thought so...

  • I did not like this guy as a kid!

  • I don't mind Dave Coulier he's not that big of a difference compared to Janine's awful voice change.

  • Grundel returnd in extreme ghostbusters

  • "Get stuffed!"

"That'll be enough of that." lol

  • This episode is absolutely terrifying with the knowledge - according to the series writers - that the Grundel was a conscious allegory for a pedophile.

  • Man, I don't like dave coulier... Even as a kid I wasn't a fan.

  • What happened Lorenzo Music?

  • he died

  • @incrediblehulkmovies

Bill murray said that we din{t want he´s character sound like garfield. not kidding!!!!

  • One of my favorite episodes

  • Twlight Zone showed a simialr character that lived under a child's bed.

  • It's mentioned that Alec kicked Mrs. Faversham's cat. Mrs. Faversham's attic was haunted in the episode "The Thing In Mrs. Faversham's Attic".

  • "Jabberwocky" is a poem of nonsense verse written by Lewis Carroll, originally featured as a part of his novel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1872). It is considered by many to be one of the greatest nonsense poems written in the English language.

  • This character was to many viewers appeared to be a possible Child Molester and there could be truth in that. His dialouge could often be related to a pedophile or child molester. Lines such as "Come out and play child", or "So fresh, so pure, but not for long", and "Open the window, we'll go away. Far from all the adults" can all be easily interpreted towards the subject.

  • Have there ever been possible pedophiles that used these lines on kids?

  • No kid ! Don't go to the Dark Side !

  • asparagus in a trench coat

  • The Grundel is a shady ass telemarketer who calls at inconsiderate hours of the day

  • @6661victor Hail satan!

  • that thing is like a pedifile.

  • hahah did anyone notice the "animation oops" at 1:15 - 1:16 where Ray and Peter are both wearin the movie version jumpsuits? no matter i still like it! this was the best 1980s cartoon next to Super Powers Team and Transformers.

  • Call chris hanson!!!

  • I wonder how does a kid learn how take about a car?

  • same way they learn to use rocket launchers and torture.

  • my heart skipped a beat when slimer almost went into the trap

  • quality's fine, thanks for these uploads :)

  • "So young, so pure..."

Um, someone wanna call Brian Williams?

  • @jakejeckel85

why brian williams? he's the lead singer for ACDC right?

  • The lead singer was Don Scott (RIP), Now its Brian Johnson, you might be thinking of the bassist, Cliff Williams

  • @rogueleader302

then who is brian williams, and its bon scott btw

  • This was a great episode. This episode is the reason why "The Jabberwocky" is my favorite poem.

  • it is hinted that the grundel just got a kid. Well there was a sequel to this episode in the extreme ghostbusters series. It turns out that the girl in that show's friend was the one that this grundel just changed and she would have succumbed too but she ran away. and her friend now a grundel was put into hibernation and was awakened by the extreme ghostbusters. hmm I wonder if it's on I'll look.

  • if your looking for that episode then ya it is on here if not you could also get the episode on vhs which I have but your right on the knowledge

  • No Lorenzo was more of a Peter for me not because I'm a fan of Garfield

  • invite him in thats how it works. he can't hurt u unless u invite him in

  • the grundel is a bad motha

  • i thought grundle was the retarted vershion of grendel

  • There's a ghost named after that part of the body between your arse hole and your ball-bag? Nice!

  • The Grundel always reminded me a bit more of Freddy Krueger than anything.

  • 6:25

    Interocitor!? Awesome!

  • lol, yeah! An awesome This Island Earth refrence (and to an extension, and MST3K refrence too),

  • Wht they don´t look like the ghostbusters from the 1984 movie???

  • because they would get sued. so they way they look from the actors in the movie.

  • @MegaHale Likeness rights. They couldn't make the Ghostbusters resemble the actors from the films because actors' likenesses are copyrighted.

  • Did they model Grundel after Michael Jackson?

  • I remember seeing this when I was a kid. Looking at it now, I can see where the controversy came in. The theme of the corruption of the youth is such a frightening one. And the Grudnel definitely seems sinister and even perverted in its obsession with children.

  • Hey guys. Google "Jabberwocky wiki" and you'll get a picture that they used to draw for the cartoon! Pretty good adaptation! :D I always wiki the weird monsters on this show. I like myths and junk. :)

  • even slimer puts in work

  • The Grendal used to creep me out back then. GotDAMN that is a creepy, chainsmoking looking motherfucka!! *shiver*

  • Hah! never knew this was done by JM straczinsky (who went on to write and direct Babylon 5)

  • Awesome Ep-XD I read the Jaberwoky Poem in school before

  • I love this cartoon. They don't make em like they use to

  • ha ha ha ihe jaberwoky and peter sounds like he hasa cold

  • i liked peters old voice....=(

  • AHHH...the grundel..mustave been about 7 when I saw this, but the grundel has been in my mind ever since..

  • your not the only one

  • Is your name Alec?

  • i love it

  • they broke rule number 2 with the kids don't look directly into the trap!

  • rule number 2 is hump n' dump substitutable with hit it and quit it

  • in the first movie, Egon said he looked directly into the trap and he seems ok.

  • Holy crap! JMS wrote for The Real Ghostbusters!!! No wonder the first few seasons were really good and brooding and funny.

  • I really don't Peter Venkman's voice by Dave Coulier,it sounds like he's really trying hard to sound like the original voice of Peter by Lorenzo Music.

  • to cloop77, Dave Coulier is not trying to imiate Lorenzo Music. He's creating it in his own style and actually he sounds more like Bill Murray than Lorenzo did.

He actually has the sarcasm, egotisitcal portrayal of Peter along with the soundalike voice talent. Billy didn't like Lorenzo because he claimed that he made a fool of his charcater and sounded nothing like him.

I prefer Dave and I do not know why people disapprove him just because he's not Lorenzo Music.

    He's not meant to be!

  • I concur

  • Lorenzo was okay but Dave just was actually Peter for me. Maybe not for you but we have different opinions.

Bill thought that Lorenzo's interpretation was incorrect, which I agree in some parts but again it's all a matter of opinion.

  • @ 1:15 did he say it "verbaled as it came"??

    lololololol

  • "well they are efficent, sTRIPPED of everything they can sell in 3.5 min" EGON DO NOT PRAISE THE HOODLUMS!

  • 2:56 GET STUFFED! Lmfaoooooooooooooooooo

  • This is one of the darkest of the RGB episodes, and used to really give me the creeps because it reminded me of a local news story around that time of a little boy was lured out of his first-floor bedroom window by a stranger who tapped on his window and calmly told him to come with him. He was never seen again. His kid sister shared the bedroom and had seen it happen. I still feel uncomfortable watching this episode because of that.

  • Are you serious, something like this actually happened where you are? Why wasn't the sister taken as well?

  • Yes, but it happened when I lived in Cincinnati, back in 1985. I don't remember all the details, as it was almost a quarter-century ago, but what I do recall is that the police thought the strange man may have been stalking that boy for some time, or that the boy may have known the man to some degree. The sister said the man came to the window, gently tapped on it, and calmly told the boy to come with him. They were never seen again. It still bothers me to think about how awful that was.

  • did'nt that grundel thing return in extreme ghostbusters ?

  • Yep, He was toned down though for obvious reasons. They carried him over into the next series because they wanted to give him a second episode in this series like the other major villians but they got too many angry letters and phone calls about the Grundel that they couldn't without getting sued for it.

  • this cartoon was the best in the 80's

  • right on

  • lol@ Peter..even in the cartoons his sarcasm is hilarious

Ray: "How was I suppose to know that ghost could read? Most ghost can't read."

    Slimer: "O yeah???"

Peter: "Hey, don't get cocky Slimer. I've been watching you. You still move your lips when you read."

  • his name is ray dumb ass

  • is the guy that voices the red headed ghostbuster(whatever his name is) the guy that voices Fred on Scooby Doo?it sounds like it

  • Does anyone remember that other show called the real ghostbusters. Those kids had a fire station kinda hangout.

  • This being written by Michael Straczynski is cool enough, I'm getting his autograph at Comic-Con this july!

  • AWESOME upload :D

  • This was my favorite ghostbusters episode

  • I wanna get the DVD to this show.

  • Definitely a classic right here. scared me shitless back in the day!

  • Me too.

  • If they ever make a Ghostbusters 3 the Grundel should be the Arch Villian of the Movie.

  • What about Samhein?

  • What about Samhein? He got a second episode 2 seasons after His first episode, In rank He was like the 3rd most Freighting villian in the show, 2nd was the Boogieman and In 1st place was the Grundel. When the Samhein episode came on there were no angry calls and letters to the makers but when The Grundel Episode came on they thought that a lot of their veiwers parents were going to take up law suit cases with the show. That's the difference.

  • Loved the Jabberwocky reference in the beginning... wouldn't have got it as a kid.

Anyone else here too old to be rewatching these shows? ^.^

  • I'm 30 and enjoying everyone of these as much as I did when I was a little kid. :)

  • I too strombolt, I become very sentimental about shows like this ones, takes me back to my inoccent age!!! I loved getting up early on saturday morning to watch shows like this all morning long with some cereal the frog or the puma or coco crisp and milk and juice and I'll be happy as I can be.

  • @Truthiness231

I spent most of my time homeless or in bad homes as a child. I love getting to see this stuff. Not that you looked like you really meant it, but I don't think you can be too old to enjoy anything.

That said, how come it used to be called a Jabberwock and now it's a JabberrockY? I wonder why they pronounced it that way. I also love how this episode crosses over with Extreme Ghostbusters later on in the sequel episode 'Grundelesque.'

  • @Gamez1985 Yeah I concur completely with you; it was more of a cliche joke of adults watching cartoons than anything else (I have nothing against it myself, clearly, as I watched many of these episodes and quite a few other cartoons (in fact I watched Disney's Robin Hood the other day just so I could wash the taint of the latest Robin Hood movie from my brain =P))

And it's certainly never to late to relive your lost childhood. I know that's what I'm doing ^.^

  • @Gamez1985

i liked your coment!, but i really hated ghostbusters xtreme

  • @Truthiness231 you are not alone

  • 01:16, coloring mistake! They gave a jumpsuit of the wrong color to Peter!

  • hey...peter sounds more like he does in the "Extreme ghostbusters" back in the saddle episode...

I wonder if this was the episode where the voice actor changed. gotta say, I like the other guy's lazy wizecraking better.

  • This Grundel scared the crap out of me and my brother as a kid. What fun memories...

  • Agreed. This is one of the few episodes of Ghostbusters that I remember as a kid genuinely scared the hell out of me. Man, if only we could go back in time. :)

  • Yeah me too

The animated series had an eerie atmosphere that was absent in the movie

  • 09:52 is it just me or does alec looks like chucky from child's play???

  • I didn't know the Jabberwock was in this ep; Jabberwocky's my fave poem.

  • What's up with Larry, the car boosting 1920s street urchin?

  • I know, right?! It was the 80's.

  • Gotta love cartoons doing a PSA.

  • Its the JABBERWOCKY!

  • wat is the ghost at the beginning that winston keeps saying poems about?

  • 'The Jabberwocky' is a poem about a monster and a boy that kills it.

  • is it a famous poem?

  • It's in Trough the Looking Glass, the second Alice in Wonderland book. It may predate that. I'm not sure.

  • The Jaberwocky was written for Alice through the Looking Glass, although carol had Written the first verse as a kid to amuse his family(got this info from the More Annotated Alice) It's one of the most famous examples of nonsense verse and one of my favorite poems (I can recite it in my sleep)I am a large fan of all things alice in wonderland

  • The Grundel sounds just like Smeagle from Lord of The Rings.

  • ohase-lock interocitor! classic!

  • phase*

  • Man I love all these wicked literary references. The best thing I love about this series is how both little kids and grown adults can enjoy it for these very reasons.

  • grundel was wicked creepy

  • what was that thing he piked up on the bus?

  • wallet

  • Id say hes more like a drug dealer.

  • No Kidding He does sound Like Gozer, No suprise there those since the Grundel pretty Much is the Lord Of Evil in this Series.

  • That's no coincidance, the Grundel is basically a mixture of the devil and a pedophile.

  • cool i loved this cartoon back when i was 6yrs old i watched every episode of them and i got the toys and the t-shirts and back pack =D

  • whos worse this versoin or the extream ghostbusters version?

  • This Grundel is the worst one.

  • this freaked me out as a kid (still does)!!!

  • how many close calls does Slimmer have with the ghost traps and how many times has he accidently been trapped lol

  • thanks for uploading these, I loved this cartoon as a kid, had loads of toy figures and backpacks and stuff :P , does anyone know what episode is where theyre in a lift fighting ghosts? and if its on youtube? and also the one where they go through a hole and one of theyre hair comes out white,

    cheers

  • I think the first ep you're referring to is The Ghostbusters in Paris.

The second is The Hole in the Wall Gang.

Don't know if they're on You Tube though.

  • thanks very much, you where right.

and they both are on youtube too so Ive managed to see them and theyve brought back so many great memories

    thanks

  • hole in the wall is on oh and i don't care about the quality lol.

  • this series is freaking sweet! ^^

  • I still do sometimes.

  • I think the grundel is a morality tale for children,it shows the line between right & wrong. Its telling kids not to steal & hurt people, other wise you will have to answer for what you did. Also its telling kids not to get involved with the wrong crowd & the danger it can pose if you do.

  • Man this one scared the hell out of me when I was little!

  • HELLZ YEAH. Me too. This next to the Boogieman and Sandman were the best!!!!

  • me 3

  • Me forth at grundel is ugly as a mug

  • That's why enjoyed so much this series, because even when it was aimed to kids there were some dark stuff, like this episode

  • Jelous guy? Oh Egon its so cute like a jelous guy. Nice for janine xD

  • How can egon build something and not know what it does?
