Brendel plays Schubert Sonata No. 14 in A minor, D. 784, I/II

This is not fast enough for the modern world (tempo accelerates as pitch rises). HOWEVER! only Brendel could play this at a tempo appropriate for the time in which it was composed, as he is far enough into the old world as to play things that will take us back in time. We are blessed to live in a world in which he has lived, and to hear his insight into the pre-war world.
