actually, with todays technology, we can have a camera sense where you and the instrument is and show on the TV, you playing it with the added animation of the notes hitting the guitar, and with more recent technology we can display that in 3D :D (3DS reference)

@Jelllyfishstingz It saves time later on. When he puts the notes in, instead of having to track the guitar again just parent them to the null object. You can then have lots of stuff moving at exactly the same time by using only one set of tracking data.
