  • Thanks a lot!

  • I LOVE YOU!!!

  • OMG YOU ARE AMAZING, i have my college stats final tomorrow and this saved the day!

  • You're amazing! You helped me more than you know. Thank you.

  • Great Teaching!

  • I love you so much right now :)

  • This helped me alot! Thank you!

  • You are a lifesaver! Trying to do linear regression and correlation coefficients by hand was hurting my grade on timed tests.

  • You saved me ! I love you !!!!!!! From Portugal

  • I love you

  • Fantastic guide it greatly helped me!

  • superb!

  • I love you.

  • im still unable to have the line. when i click on LinReg (ax=b) it takes me to a screen :

  • thank you so much yo are awsomE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you!

  • thank you very much!! These videos are soooooo much more usefull than the book and the real teacher in class!

  • Great video. Clear, concise, what an awesome teacher!

  • I get the full X-Y access not a zoomed in graph.

  • you are awesome Mam.i am taking this class in an accelerated summer program(statistics) and you are so helpful in a time when i am swamped with 3 other classes also in accelerated format.

  • why does x=9.1? how did you get that number?

  • OMG I love you...

  • Wow !!!!! Thank you sooooo much. I am now ready for my test tomorrow:)!!!!

  • Awesome, you are a savior.

  • I love you. For saving my IB 7 in Math.

  • @cheatsisbrown I'm trying desperately to achieve a 7 for my math project! Well done!

  • thank you so much....this has saved my grade!!! i was totally lost...thanks again

  • Thank youuuuuuu! :)

  • TOOK ONE HOUR TO EXPLAIN THIS IN CLASS TODAY, WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR

  • Why isn't my calculator showing me the r and r2 when I do the LinReg?

  • @aquariusdoll Yeah, my calculator didn't show that either at first. You just have to go to CATALOG, scroll down to DiagnosticOn, click ENTER twice, and go to the LinReg again. Then it'll show r and r^2.

  • Thank u so much!!! you saved my homework. I couldn't remember how to get r and r squared back.

  • You literally just single-handedly saved my statistics grade.

  • OMG you need to be my Algebra 2 teacher very helpful please do more videos

  • Perfect Explanation!!

  • ThrooFroot : I hope you have your data on L1 and L2 , now choose STAT, edit , and select L3 (whole list), then 2nd LIST choose 7 RESID this will bring the residue on L3, now press STAT , > choose CALC 1 (1-Var Stats) L3 this will give you standrd dev, sample deviation, mean etc in one screen....

  • well that saved a lot of work and time ....

  • How would you get the residual standard deviation to show up in those calculations? The 's'?

  • SO HELPFUL!!!!

  • u save me totally u save me!

  • Thank You...Thank You....Thank you.!!!!

  • The difference between the two "LinReg" functions is that number 4, (ax +b) is the linear regression, and number 8 (a+bx) is the "least-squares line", or the sample regression line.

  • thanks

  • Wow This Video Helped Out So Much! I have been struggling, trying to figure out how to do this on my calculator for days. I learned everything I needed to know in a matter of minutes! Thank You!

  • Awesome!

  • I make videos too. I like yours. Could you tell me what program you are using with the calculator and for your screen capture?

  • @ProfessorRosever Ti Smartview, Camtasia

  • @IntroStats Thankyou. I actually figured both out but then I couldn't convince the "check signers" I worked for to help me purchase either. Would of been awesome to have this for classes this year. Oh well. Very dissappointed, but love your work. Keep it up!

  • @ProfessorRosever There's a nice 83+ emulator, a free one, that would work, too. But it doesn't have those nice graph and list views. It's called Virtual Ti.

If only they worked on a Mac I'd probably do more videos, instead I have to borrow and return a school laptop, kind of a bother.

  • @IntroStats I did find this after running some searches today one emulator called wabbit. It says it works on the Apple OS and I tried posting the link but I guess you tube won't let you post links. Let me know if you try it and if it works well.

  • awesome video!!!! walked me through my homework perfect. your smarter than my proffesor

  • Thanks couldn't get r^2

  • Awesome video!!!! I love ti!

  • very very very helpful

  • Very helpful for revision, thank you.

  • thx soo much i mas doing an algebra 2 review and didnt know how to do linear regression at all and this helped a ton!

  • Thank you so much, my teacher barely touched on how to do these things and we have the midterm tomorrow!!!!

  • thank you SO much, i have the alg 2 and trig regents tomorrow and i was confused about linear regression, and this video answered ALL of my questions. THANK YOU

  • A+++++++++ Thanks !

  • extremely helpful, keep up the good work...u are amazing

  • Thank you. This was very helpful,

Question - I followed the steps exactly on my ti-83 and was unable to impose the least squares line on the plotted points.

Also when I attempted to store the Eq in Y1 it appeared on the command line but when I ran it again It displays ,"error invalid," When I try to recall the info in Y1 it is not stored.. Is there another adjustment I need to make on the calculator possibly?

  • There are two different forms offered because statisticians use y = bx + a, but algebra teachers preferred y = ax + b. So TI agreed to offer both (at about the time of the TI-81 or right before they changed to the 82.

  • @KYStatProf TY!

  • thank you! this helped so much! it was clear and easy to follow! you saved me big time!

  • Thank you very much for the help! This will come in handy for my exam tomorrow!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU ARE SO AWESOME! My teacher didn't teach this right, I was so confused! Dude! YOU'RE SO COOL! THANKSSSS! =)

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video up! I am taking Stat right now and I was really lost before I watched this. My techer explains thing way too fast, wish you were my teacher! Thanks again!
