  • Not to be confused w/ Seamus McAnus, world-famous proctologist and innovator of odor control and sound-absorption carbon filters for an increasingly flatulent America. As more and more Americans went from a manufacturing economy to sitting on their butts in front of computers all day—but never changing their diet—McAnus’ fart filters went from 3,000 to 3 million asses, almost overnight.

  • heck yes, fake numbers!!! rotflmao

    Ka-zillion, Bur-Chillion, Za-Pillion, Fra-Brillion!!!

  • now i get it

    cloud computing....AWESOME!

  • Oh my God. This is hilarious.

  • I was in the kitchen, Seamus, that's the dog, was outside.

  • Do bees have computers too?

  • ledge!

  • So... they saw the benefits of a client-server model and consequently moved away from thin clients to give everyone their own PC? That doesn't sound right.

I'm still not sure how "cloud computing" is different from thin clients, frankly.

  • IBM is basicly just trying to create another name for thin clients that they can copywrite. essentially they are pulling away from the Unix based term of Thin client and moving forward to their own, which is cloud computing, which is quite interseting seeing how, instead of being server side it is all purly p2p. IBM is basicly just trying to get their feet wet again and playing catch up, but like usual they are about 5 years too late on this on. Hooray for seamus.... IBM == IGNORANT!

  • i love how macs aren't mentioned anywhere. makes this video so much better

  • 5 stars and non-stop clapping!

  • Cloud computing is also a fancy way to distribute your personal information all over the world. Hooray for big brother!

  • he liked them.. and they were big..

  • :) lol'd

  • neat little video

    I like the animation

  • now all seamus has to do is realise that CLOUD computing is p2p, not server side, corporate provided computing... thanks seamus.. get on to that will you?

  • yeah lol

  • ibm's gonna help us fix everything and spend less money and me more efficient by putting everything together for us, like microsoft, or the fed

  • For good, IBM? For good?

There's no such thing as "for good" in the world of technology and business.

  • Yea... cuz Al Gore also invented a global money scam , hey! Ass.

    Koo vid.

  • 0:57 - 1:05 , What the ...?! "A KA-ZILLION things, BUR-CHILLION things,ZA-PILLION things, FA-BRILLION things" !?

  • You made me LOL, I didn't realize that was written there. xD

  • I first heard that narrator's voice over a decade ago.

  • Forensic Files. Mmh.

    The guy's 74 or 75 now.

  • Forensic Files is the first thing that came through my mind when I heard his voice : )

  • This was the longest 2 mins 27 seconds of my life.

  • HAHAHA.

  • no no no, it definitely wasn't Seamus - everybody knows it was Al Gore

  • Man, Al Gore invents all sorts of stuff, doesn't he? The Internet, Cloud Computing, Global Warming; The guy is a genius. Why isn't he president again?

  • hahahaha

  • Hey, so is cloud computing anything like distributed computing networks like SETI, Folding at Home, ect?

  • I like this narrator for his proper enunciation. It's refreshing in a way.

  • Clever video. Thanks.

  • "cloud computing" - the NEW and REBRANDED term for thin clients. Maybe you will get it this time..... ;-)

  • You certainly don't.

Cloud computing is the virtualization of computing resources on a network (i.e. the Internet). It has nothing to do with "thin clients", certainly not any more than BitTorrent has.

  • Cloud computing will never win my heart. Security, among other things, seem too big of issues.

  • Cartoony, but still gets the point across.

  • I'm 17. May I work for IBM?

  • You can try. Fill out an application like a normal person. Youtube does not a resume make.

  • it depends. do you know C, C++, bash, ksh, Linux/AIX administration?

If the answer to any one of these questions is yes you have a chance. If its all NO, keep learning, go to school and study hard

  • /wiki/History_of_IBM#1925.E2.80.931949:_IBM.27s_early_growth

  • Cloud computing has it's uses, but to label it a panacea for complexity is foolish. It's a long way from what IBM thinks it is.

  • True, that. The reality is that the overhead of cloud computing infrastructure is complex beyond an individual's comprehension. :(

  • haha, I was going to say "well this was great and all, but it explains nothing about how cloud computing works...." but now that you say that, I guess IBM thinks I have the brain of a dinosaur. Ha.

  • Totally agreed... and I think it's odd how tech things get introduced and embraced this way. I actually skipped to the end to find the explanation of "cloud computing"... and it was nothing. Empty jingoism. I still don't see what's so different from what exists already. Software online, files stored online, everybody given access can tap in. That's happened organically, with not a whisper about the "cloud" involved. Or is there something else I'm missing?
