For me prozac had a blocker effect against negitive and painful feelings. Thinking of suicide didn't scare me anymore. I think that is why people kill themselves on these drugs.

Its really playing Russian Roulette. Some people are desperate for relief and they actually take that chance. How many lives does it take for the FDA and drug companies to take a drug off the market? I was prescribed an anti-depressant and it made me feel weird most of the time and about a month later I attempted suicide, I was then put on Zoloft and suffered no side affects at all.

There are many prescription drugs that are harmful to our health, but the doctors keep on prescribing them. The FDA should be held accountable. The packages here in Australia have a slip of paper explaining everything about the drug including side effects. This is to cover the asses of the drug companies. Drugs do have risks it is unfortunate if you happen to be the one who has a serious reaction.

9 out of 11 people closest to me are on these damned things! Doctors are always trying to increase their dose, while I'm trying to decrease their dose. very awful "2nd hand-side effects" from SSRIs have made my life Hell. Those around me no longer see consequences and don't care about anything outside themselves! My sister was caring, now won't help her own elderly Mom& is angered by anyone asking her for help at all. SSRIs should be Sched. II controlled! Then Drs wouldn't be so careless!

You can't JUST blame the pharmaceutical company when you're the one who wanted a quick fix. A good mother would have spent years in counseling rather than put a band-aid on the issue. A good mother would have at the very LEAST read the warning labels.

As a mother myslf, I was faced with a simlar situation and opted out of usng drugs for my then 8 yr. old- I did a LOT of reasrch before deciding- standing up to school and "experts" was sch HELL- I Had to remove hm frm Pub. school entirely they're so relentless. Too many people belive what "experts" tell them and dont think for thmselvs- I suspct their pain is just as great as any upon losing a child--shouldnt blame mom tho for it.

The FDA is not listening to the complaintants. The FDA gets money from the drug companies is forms of speaking fees, consulting fees. The FDA directors get paid by drug companies, and they will only worry about drug interests, not consumers until we stand up and make conflicts of interest illegal. The FDA was not listening!!!!!

Pot CAUSED me to develop a remarkably severe case of panic disorder. It's a well-known fact that marijuana can result in panic attacks or agitate otherwise dormant psychiatric issues. If marijuana was legalized, there would be millions more cases of similar disorders DIRECTLY because of pot.

I'm afraid PROKOPTON may be right! I've been taking Zoloft for about5 years and I 'm an adult and have had tons of side effects for years, I have quit it and its been a month i'm having withdrawl symptoms and they are HELL!! Something needs to be done about these drugs!

7 days isnt long enough for the meds to take effect so i dont see how they can blame the meds, she probably thought they werent working and felt hopeless. the dr or pharmacist should have explained that to them and they should be the ones sued. the parents could have known better than to leave her alone like that if they were well informed.

@Metania01 I think you are (more than) a little biased on this. That treatment could save a babies life. Viagra is quite effective for pulmonary hypertension, which could be very threatening to anyone, especially a baby. Unless you are ready to have a child that might potentially have this problem, not approve of any treatment that could save it's life, and deal with it's premature death without pain, grief, or complaint, stay away from the Viagra yourself.
