I do not think using a shampoo with a large amount of synthetic ingredients is a good idea, especially if the shampoo is left on the head and thereby absorbed by the body all night. I think an over-the-counter selenium sulfide shampoo left on the scalp overnight and about a week later a prescription selenium sulfide shampoo left on for about 10 minutes both caused me to taste it after skin absorption, and caused adverse neurological and endocrine symptoms, and something that might be seizures.
In my opinion it's not worth any chemical treatment. In the long run it will work less and might harm your scalp causing hair loss. I mechanically remove my dandruff once a day with a brush and I'm fine.
I had dandruff for about 7 years. All of a sudden I don't. You be the judge. It took me 2 weeks to beat dandruff. I eliminated pastry from my diet. I believe dandruff shampoos treat only the symptoms.. I don't use dandruff shampoo anymore. It is incredible. Now I eat hemp cereal, honey, apple sauce instead of pastry. It was so bad that I thought I had seborrhea.
salt? some people add a spoon of salt when shampooing, they say it works good, I did it once just to know how it feels, and I felt like my skin was coming off my scull, although it doesn't hurt at all ,
Dr. Mercola can you please post a video about hair loss? After I stopped breastfeeding I started losing my hair in enormous amounts and it's been over six months and hair loss is horrible. I'm taking vitamins, wouldn't say I have a stressful lifestyle, I try to eat healthy and organic eat out on occasion. Can you please post something that would help? Thank you
I use Tea Tree Triple Treat hair conditioner by Giovanni Hair Products. I've been using it for years. It cured my dandruff in a matter of days, and the dandruff never came back. Not to mention, it's a great hair conditioner, and because of the tea tree oil in it, it makes your scalp feel all nice and tingly.
I support the coconut oil treatment. I use the oil instead of gel for styling in my hair. It looks good, softens the hair, and holds your hair in place pretty nicely. I apply it at least twice a week and never get dandruff. Plus it's really good for people who tweak their hair a lot by bleaching and ironing it. The coconut oil helps repair the damage and manage the breaking. The oil has natural anit-viral and anti-bacterial qualities as well. It's the best
Having this problem now. Of course everything people mentioned will work for a little over a day, but it always comes back! I have long hair and like that natural oiled lankness that comes from not washing the hair 3-5 days. This is almost impossible , I've tried (Weleda), Rosemary hot oil overnight, vitamins and nizoral, SB, T-Gel and everything else and it works....for a day or two.
Medicated shampoos destroy beneficial bacteria and fungii. The imbalance in the scalp ecology thus leads to dandruff.Wash hair in plain water, massage and towel dry.Use a light shampoo once a week to wash off dirt.Use a light oil.Wash combs at least thrice a week.
1 star! Medicated shampoo does nothing but make it worse! Dandruff is not dead skin! It is dried sin oil. There is only one thing I have found that works: Pert Plus for thin hair. Sounds odd but I have been dealing with my problem for about 25 years now and I have tried them all!
to keep the fungas away.....wash your combs and brushes everytime you wash your hair (soak in hydrogen peroxide)....wash pillow.....also Neem oil works to get rid of flakes
Wouldn't sleeping with the shampoo (Selsom Blue or Head and Shoulder's) cause the skin to burn? I have a 9 year old that may need a treatment like that. Would it be safe for him? And I do think his diet may be causing all the rucus! Please respond to my question, ty.
I've been using Selsun Blue for my dandruff, and it has worked for me whenever I have dandruff. I have never used the shower cap overnight method which seems like it would definately be more effective. Is there any way that the head can absorb toxic chemicals if saturated in these toxins overnight?
I find it perplexing that a Medical Doctor that allows his knowlege to be licenced and regulated, is allowed to give alternitive options to regulated, conventional medicine.
While a person who is not in the medical society is not permitted to offer proven options to conventional medical treatment.
OVERNIGHT? has any 1 tried that 1?

Nizoral works great, but are there health risks from the topical use of ketoconazol?

I tried many treatments, over the years. They do work, but are too costly for me, in my financial state.
My solution: I shave my head. No dandruff, no blow dryer,(saves on electricity), and no hair products. Most satisfying, no bad-hair days!
Then again, girls do look so much better with hair. Oh, yeah! You go girls!

Are we really free?

Surely that's a question of trust and proof of reliablility/validity, and something that is decided between individuals?
Can you specify what you're talking about: a law or something, in what context?

no...we are really NOT free....
