  • Hey, im going to be turbo charging my 1.4 soon, what did you use for engine management?

  • @ootay14,on the dyno there it has a DTA on it, once i fitted it into my rover 200 i put an omex on it.

  • Nice vid pal. I'm in the process of trying to sort a K-series turbo myself. Are you using uprated pistons and con rods etc? As I've heard the maximum a 1.4 bottom end can handle is the 160 mark. I was thinking about adding an oil cooler to the back of the block to try and reduced the temp a bit more. Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

  • @Oggyad, they are uprated yes. ive seen a std 1.4 make just over 300! but to be safe id say closer to the 200 mark.

oil cooler might be useful on a small engine bay where the air cant get round the engine. front mounted would be best.

take a look for EVO 1400 turbo k-series, he had a std 1.4 in that.

  • @666Drew Cheers for that pal!

  • Hi Drew, long time no speak!

I bet it's still sat in your garage! :)

Good to see you are still alive!!

    Mike

  • @MikeNetLogic .lol its moved out, but only just. its in the bubble and i had it rolling roaded!

  • why didn't you do a 1.6 or 1.8 cos they have more torque??

    is this k16 or k8??

  • wow, posted this over a year ago, and it still isnt in my bubble!

its a 1.4 K16 as i had a few bits left over in the garage.

  • lol nice, did you manage to keep it reliable??

  • i seriously doubt 200bhp from a 1.4, highly tuned 1800 caterhams trash their engines in 3k miles at sub 200bhp levels.

  • its a turbo mate, easily 200bhp.

    Drew

  • could you upload a copy of the dyno printout?

  • a tuned N/A engine is fragile, but by Turbo charging an engine you get more power and better reliability, 200bhp is acheiveable

  • hello there what did u do to this 1.4 to get 200 bhp and 200lb/ft thanks kevin

  • rough specs are forged pistons, rods and crank, ported head with bigger valves, T2 hybrid turbo, DTA engine management.

    For sale now too ;)

  • you say its for sale? how much. will it fit straight into my rover 25?? would i need a different ecu ect??

  • i was looking for £2k. it was fitted to my metro so will need a few parts swapping to fit a 200.

i think ill drop it in my bubble for a while and see how it goes.

  • very sweet m8
