Surely you can relate the lyrics to the feelings of someone who is in love with someone who doesn't love them back? in this case she is waking up feeling dead from the bad dreams where she's felt abused.. This is the way i took it though the mention of being connected with everyone under the surface i have NFI.. definitely not your usual lyrics, but still a great track.
