I like the concept--evil covering beauty covering evil---BUT, was TOM RIDDLE not a gorgeous man who's face became almost a mask with every Horcrux he made? Thus, his servants must never exceed him in beauty.

Evil hides, but so does beauty, I think. Some beautiful people fear their own beauty and feel it gives them some kind of power which perhaps they do not wish to have! While others of course enjoy it! Not realizing it is temporary, ephemeral.
Maybe he's not aware he's wearing this mask of evil... Perhaps he feels what his father may have felt when he was younger, and he's trying to comprehend him?
Or perhaps the feeling of power makes him feel good? I don't know. You got me thinking now. xD
