I'd love to see a nightmare vid of your base-hp-companions beating the beginning of "legacy" :P (all fights up to the dungeon or even only the beginning dungeon ^^) That'd be truly nightmare and not some random fancy chosen fight - no offense meant.

I hated those nasty charging 'things' and millions of archers everywhere...

What's the point in spending no additional hp on chars? I remember several archer-heavy encounters where your chars would be dead after 2 shots - at least on 'only' hard (or maybe I 'abuse' pause not that often ^^)

Also, Merill in her bloodspecc/aura is a powerhouse, you can have her running like 5-7 auras with base mana, while she has a shitload of HP and reggs HP faster than she can spend on spells. (+items, +friend, +armor etc..)

I should probably stop saying this but this isn't the hardest boss in the game. Nicely done though, especially if this was a low level run. I forgot if the enemies' level scale with yours but whatever.

I didn't have any form of strategy at all since rouge just do too much damage. The thing was dead shortly after returning from her first "fireball from the cliff" mode.

As always, Nightmare mode or it didn't happen.

ur team is really cooardinated its like you know where and when the little dragolins will come and where the dragon shoots its fireball the most. looks like you have practised quite alot before actually making an video of it. i am just guessing XD.

@mahms012 I first came up with this tactic at lvl 16 when i realized it was the only way to beat him at that level without speccing hp on chars. wiped like 3-4 times before i came up with it then i killed him. Came back at lvl 18 and recorded this video though.

@Hmili96 the key is fire protection by the time you get to him you should be able to equip your party with runes of fire protection i used aveline as my tank merrill anders and myself a rogue archer anders had all the heals and arcane shield fully upgraded at barrier get those spells.i used barrier on lower health party members seemed to absorb most that fireball damage and give all your party members health ward potions.have yout tank taunt the dragon and circle out of melee range works well

@Hmili96 Firstly, try lowering the difficulty. With a 4 star+ equip (Hawke as weapon/shield offtank, anders as support/heals, Varric with mass attackspeed/crit and Isabela as melee dps) party I had quite a hard time doing it on normal. When it goes up on the cliff spread your party out a little so that the fireballs don't hit anyone. Remember to spam potions and the revival spell/grenades (if you have any). When the little dragons spawn have your tank run around and gather em all up, the AoE em

@Hmili96 Make sure you have at least one rune of fire warding per character to protect against the dragon's fire projectiles. At least one mage with the elemental weapons sustained spell and an ice staff. Add runes of frost to any weapons you can. Stock up on potions & poisons. Depending on what class your Hawke is you may want to adjust your party to have 3 ranged guys and a Tank (preferably a sword and shield warrior) for aggro. If you have Dog use him! He's kind of like your mini-tank.

one thing i really hate about this game interace is that they wont let you "hold position" for individual team member. its either the whole group hold position or follow. another thing i hate about this game is they remove action que which was in dragon age origin i think. it was such a good thing i guess woulda made a lot of bugs with so many combos they introduced in the one. shuld have two or something so i can command my mage go there then cast fire then come back.

there is a glitch when the dragon flies up and little dragons spawn you have to be fast and move your party near the entrance and then spread out to avoid fire blast and your tank can walk and aggro little dragons group by group little dragons adds are seperated into three groups taking on all at once not so good. but the glitch is they wont all come at you all at once if they dont see you why you party must hide whne dragon flew up.

What kind armor does Hawke have? I have never seen that helmet before. This looks amazing on PC. I have it for PS3 since PC wont play it> barely plays the first one- but I love this game. On my 3rd playthrough now. Mage all the way. Although, I did use the Exp/inf. money glitch for the unstoppable trophy lol. Highes level is 50.

I had the same party you did by my hawke was a two hander. Just beat the High dragon on hard mode yesturday on my xbox. Ander's is a must since he's so good at healing. But did you know about his revial glitch? When he revives members in battle they temporaly get a huge health and sthamina/magic regen. That helped me out in the battle when the little dragon's would come out. Did you duel the arishack? I'd like to see a video of you fighting him one on one.

I guess you used the ~30% extra healing gained 2h sword.

duel arishok without 2h sword specc would take ages ^^ i just killed him the "easy" way with the pirate lady as a "tank".

But as for the duel with the arishok, yea it took me a long fucking time to kill him on hard mode can't imagien what nightmare is going to be like. I can't remember what the stat's on my weapon were when I fought him but I think it gave me a stamin regen you really need that against the arishok unless you have a shit load of stamina poitions.

Almost soloed this baby on nightmare as a warrior. Level 20 and used a 2h sword. Got it down to about 1/4 health left.

I died when I was assaulted by the dragons and dragonlings for the third time.

Health potions, devour and life ward potions just aren't enough to take on the adds while being blasted by fireballs that track you...

Health pots, heal, aoe heal, and shield should be able to keep your party alive even if you got no constitution like me. btw pop cds and focus fire the dragon down.

I played this game front to back on nightmare, I actually spent days and days of gameplay to beat this. Even though, half way through, I realized that I would never get out of the same repetitive zones... ever. I held onto hope that something in the game would change, but it never did. And all I have to say is, I'm glad I got to play it, but at the same time I'm very glad I didn't buy it.

I would have happily bought the game if I thought that it was worth the money.

Nice work man, nice and easy strategy. Did this fight on hard yesterday, not nightmare O_o.Had Isabella, Fenris as 2 hander, me as a healz and Aveline as tank. Took it down but spammed a few health pots. This fight definitely wasn't as hard as the ancient stone wraith.

nice, the hard bit was staying alive while he was spewing fire at a random amongst your party members. I never tried putting them against the wall where he seems not to fire at you. It was just major micro from far away. Can't dodge them,but anders is indispensable. I did it as a rogue and used aveline as tank.

@Daniso7 i Specced everything in shield and sword tree + the defender tree, i tried to avoid damaging abilities. Spend all my attribute point on constitution and str. also i used some point for the warmonger tree to get improved taunt and improved bravery.

Act 3 is the final act.

You get the high Dragon quest by talking to Hubert in act 3 in Hightown or by going to the bone pit in act 3.

@narutowolf19 the entire party was lvl 17 indeed, the reason that hawke takes so low damage is that ive only specced him in defensive abilities and only consitution/str, also i have a potion on him that reduces the damage he recieves by 10%. Since i didnt put any points into willpower i had to deactivate shield defence to be able to controll the adds well enough tho : (.
