don't forget to enable TIME REMAPPING on your clip before doing anything with Twixtor or else the end of your clip will be cut off and you will be really confused!
good tutorial. i have a question, everytime i put a stop watch on the part where i want the slow motion to began , and when i change the speed. it automatically starts back from the start of the clip, is there anywhere or any settings im going wrong?
I thought there was going to be a Pete on fire, tilting step ladder, bouncing off the reflector back into the camera epic slow mo twixtor shot. Wilde Coyotee styleee. Beep Beep.
I have a question that i hope you can get to answering, so shoot in 60fps because that gives you more footage/data to work with when slowing it down, right? ok sweet. but when you interpret it in twixtor as 23.97 doesnt that essentially get rid of half the frames? doesn't it just ignore them? i know when you interpert the 60fps down to 23.9 in AE at the beginning that gets the basic slo/mo but when you do it
@VanderKwaakFILMS Since it is 24p footage that is moving slow it's just as easy for Twixtor to recognize it as it would be full speed 60p footage. Make sense? Doing it this way allows you to go even slower. That's the reasoning. full speed 60p footage at 5% is faster than slowed down to 24p at 5%.
@VanderKwaakFILMS Yeah, so it doesn't really make a difference what you do there. It's just that you want to put it into a 24p timeline usually, so you have to get rid of the frames at some point.
@spencerduhbarrett Yes, but it involves video. We have our own company and stuff. Weddings (meh), commercials, product videos, local events (actually just filmed the grand opening of that Hawaiian place in Corvallis). Then online videos through Howcast.
Lot's of different ways we make it work. We do the tutorials in our spare time.
@Neumannfilms that's pretty cool, i love the new hawaiian place that just opened! just went there last week. Thats pretty cool then, that your able todo what you love as a job not many people can say they love their job.
HI, nice work there! Actually i am living in Europe,so i shoot my video at 25 fps. So at what number should i bring my FPS during applying Twixtor? Thank you.
@Neumannfilms Hi,thanks for your quick reply. ITs straight up 25 fps.We don't have options to shoot at 50fps in our Cameras. Now what should be my Frame rate in Main options as you did in your video? Any Idea? Thanks
HI, nice work there! Actually i am living in Europe,so i shoot my video at 30 fps. So at what number should i bring my FPS during applying Twixtor? Thank you.
Would it be possible to get a video for dummies? I'm talking bare bones DSLR/Canon t2i operation. For example...how to shoot in camera...each step. Then how to upload and how to convert and such. I know it's all probably pretty self explanatory. But a nice quick, How To For Beginners would be amazing.
Just a quick question, it is better to slow it down in Vegas to 23.976fps, or shall i leave it at 59.976 then twixtor it? i looking at having normal speed to twixtor slomo then back to normal, slomo to super slomo, thanks!
@snostorm8 Switch it to 23.976 in After Effects like I said in the tutorial, but then, instead of having it set to 100% speed, try setting it to 250% and that should be fairly close to normal speed. Then keyframe from 250% to 5% or 2% or whatever.
Thanks! This is gonna be very useful. Also, is there any chance you will be making your premiere presets available for Final Cut? I have after effects but do most of my work in final cut.
another way is to just use vegas and slow down the part you want then render it and slow mo it again repeat then add it back to the original... thats if u cant get twixtor of course though haha.
@NoclueeR ya it does but if its in 1280x720 60fps its fairly smooth so u just have to add a bit of motion blur if there is lag but that does add ghosting still but disabling resample helps with ghosting for the most part.
ahhh dude you have a log house nice!

Everytime I slow down my T2i footage (without twixtor), the frames become very choppy. Is there a solution to this? (I shoot at 60fps)
SeanThomasTV 10 months ago
@SeanThomasTV What are you using to slow it down? What program?
Neumannfilms 10 months ago
@Neumannfilms I've tried iMovie, Final Cut Express and Sony Vegas - none of them give me a good result. Do you have any suggestions?
SeanThomasTV 10 months ago
really nice, but if u know how to use twixtor pro, the slowmotion will be better :)
nanohack111 10 months ago
@nanohack111 I'm sure, I figure most people will just buy the basic Twixtor though. If you really get into it I'm sure it's worth it.
