2 years ago my orthondonist said i had a severe overbite they got fixed with the herbst appliance so i didnt get surgery :p

I'm just about to go through this, possible single uppper, double upper and lower or triple upper/lower and chin all to fix a massive open bite. I have the reverse issue to you where my upper teeth get hidden by my upper lip due to the upward slope of my upper jaw. Already had pallette expansion surgery, it sucked especially the seperator device that you wear for 6 months and cause you to choke on your food.

hey, i have a tremendous overbite and i believe it is a leading cause of being 17 and not being able to find a gf. i believe i also so have a slight open bite. i think if i get corrective surgery it will help me out a lot. but im not sure if it would be costly. i havent been to dentist in about 3 years cuz my mom doesnt want to spen money but im hoping to see a dentist soon to ask about my overbite and to see what he could do. how did ur surgery come to be? and what was the cost?

@cena00sux Well, I've had my braces for 4 years in January now, they told us about the surgery when I was younger. We immediately dismissed the idea and they told us they could get it 99% perfect with just orthodontics. Around last January they told us it wouldn't work without the surgery, so we decided to go with it. We're paying around 8,000, but the surgery cost is around 50,000.

@swimmer62995 well my lower jaw is no where near aligned with my upper jaw which creates a bad overbite :( im 16 and dont have braces but i wanted braces when i was 13 but my mom told me insurance doesnt cover braces and she doesnt want to pay. with the surgery costing that much my mom would NEVER spend that type of cash. so im goin to have to live with my freakishly large overbite. thanks for the quick reply btw

@cena00sux You are so brave, I have had my braces for almost 4 years and not an end insight so far. I have almost forgotten what I look like without them. Believe it or not I think I will miss them when they are gone. I kind of like being different having people stare at me and wondering? Kind of like mouth jewelry. I wonder how long I can manage to keep them? Stay with it girl you will be beautiful and it will be worth it in thte long run.

@arqlizcarter Oh, that's a good question.! We (the doctor) had to run a pre authorization to them & our insurance covered 80% so we end up paying like $8,000ish. But, all insurances vary.
