If you recount the QLD senate ballot excluding all candidates except the last 7 standing Larisa Waters is elected.

is there a way to get the Greens (and others) to focus on research - to put available ideas into practice so that coal can be used without impacting the climate. This is about zero CO2 emissions - not just sticking CO2 into the ground.

But seriously, if i vote green, how am i helping myself? i mean sure, plenty of noble causes, whales, forrests, going to protests, but seriously, if i want to support a minor party who will make a difference to me at a grass roots level, i'm leaning towards family first. When you think about 'what benefits me' think about the impact on agriculture, fisheries and tourism (GB Reef) in Australia from climate change. Lowering petrol tax is the opposite of help! Are you suggesting that it's merely trendy to be climate conscious? If it doesn't seem important now it will soon enough. If you believe that there's still a scientific debate, then you've been had by politicians that are too afraid to stick their necks out. There is no more scientific debate, there has been near complete consensus for a long time now - where's the action?

Uranium stores won't last that long, (remember almost ubiquitously, under 1% of all uranium is U235- the kind you need) and waste is a persistent, expensive problem. Surely proper research into improving solar, geothermal and other alternatives would be preferable.

If you vote above the line for the Greens, I believe the preference flow goes Democrat, then any half decent independents or minor parties, then Labor, then coalition, then all the awful independents and minor parties (think Pauline Hanson or Family First).

Obviously you should check the lodged preferences of your party on the AEC website if you are going to vote above the line.

We all remember the disaster that was Labor and the Democrats love for Family First at the last election.

Did you know that our resources are finite...did you know that the main cause of increase greenhouse gases is the removal of vegitation from the surface of the earth. But more importantly, did you know that recycling does not produce fossil fuels...it USES fossil fuels. Also damning of valleys produces huge amounts of methane (four times potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide)....There are lots of things both yourself and Kevin07 need to think about.

I wasn't initially sure about the music and jingle either but I think it will grow on people. It's a great succint positive ad & I hope that we see a less hostile senate after this election - I VOTE GREEN! I do hope we do not lose any votes for the Green due to the election being called at the same time as "schoolies" week. Their minds will be elsewhere and possibly not on the election and that would be a great loss.
