  • Great song

  • I remember that their "New Romantic/Renaissance" look only lasted this one album before they returned to the traditional look, but It was actually one helluva good album! This song is catchier than many funky grooves out today, and others like "Action Man" were reminiscent of their YMCA-type sing-a-longs.

  • awesome

  • Preposterous, and Brilliant...in equal measures!

  • Fucking adds, fucking fuck off.

  • very nice video, remember disco music ,

  • great video and song...i like it

  • the only heterosexual, the main jars

  • el unico heterosexual, el bocalista principal

  • At the end of the song. when the record sleeve is being shown, the guy on the far right looks like Iori Yagami from King Of Fighters hahahaha

  • 5 against 1 in a sworfight? So unfair that is. LOL.

  • ほほぉ~

    これが迷走した 1、2枚のアルバムの時期か。

    誰がこんなにしてみたンだろーね。おっかしぃ (笑)

  • What? Parlez anglais, s'il vous plait.

  • Thank god for the 90's

  • Where's the Indian??????

  • What good does disabling embeds do you?

  • Looks like the Village People have at last been cured of The Gay. Now all they have to work on is their wardrobe and eyeliner. Damn catchy chorus.

  • This underrated hit is album called Renessaince.

  • im a men and i like the women!lol

  • L'ho cercata in lungo e in largo questa canzone finalmente l'ho trovataa! :D

  • I like the lead singer's voice.

  • @barzouf Ray Simpson is the lead singer, and yes his voice is remarkable.

  • @barzouf me too

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • This underrated superhit is one of the best from Renessaince album

    5/5stars.

  • Oh dear.....i hve the 12" vynal and I hadnt seen this video befor !!! oops?!!

  • the indian is gay

  • @alexbsrammstein19 well, so f.....g what.

My issue is their´s massive hits.

    cheers.

  • The answer to life the universe and everything is... 42!!! BUM BUM BUUUUUUMMM!

  • @Kamina474 Well it was the answer to the ultimate question that was "How many paths do a man have to walk in life?"

  • I have to ask, does sexuality really matter? Music is music ...

  • An extended version was released on Disconet, I believe, with the artist not being identified on the label. But what a great song!

  • Wow, I never heard before! Goooooooood!:)

  • Say what you will about these guys and yes I know there were as campy as anything in the 70's but I have to admit this song was a LOT better than I thought it would be considering who it was. The chorus itself is very well done vocal wise and these guys should be proud of that if nothing else!

  • Take Freddie Murcury away from Queen and what did you have? Take Terry Kath away from Chicago and what did you have? And after Victor Willis left the Village People, what did you have?

Of course, the Village People were just a sheer shadow of their former selves after the untimely departure of Victor Willis in 1980.

  • @70sPopRock Well actually not, but their direction toward new wave and leaving disco and their gay fans was also damaging to their career. Then again they reached their pinnacle with YMCA, and most artist have a hit or two, but they have many hits. Even without Willis in the Live and Sleazy and Can't Stop the Music albums they had small hits.

  • The look may have been updated to the early 80s, but the music's still in a bit of a timewarp. Catchy but.

  • Did anyone else notice Susan Sarandon in the video? You just get a glimpse or two of her.

  • I was very lucky to have met Glenn i was 12 me and him became pen pals, I remember when he wrote to me and called me and invited me to see him Hollywood in 81, it was a blast he was so funny i teased him about this video, he laughed it wasnt his style. I wish Glenn had lived long enough to see my family, just before Glenn passed i got a nice letter tellin me to dream my way and to do it, i lost my uncle to a accident, Glenn wrote i will be there with ur Uncle, we are proud of you. Uncle Glenn..

  • @OEKCVB WOW you were pen pals! that really great! Was he nice? What did he say?

  • @gayguy666999 Ar first i thought it was a pre written letter until Glenn would ask me how is school? or i told him abt my new puppy he asked how old he was? and that he had 2 dogs then i knew it was real! he was so nice to me he sang happy birthday to me on the phone he liked to hear my 3 stooges quotes he would laugh i told him i didnt care he is gay, he thanked me and said he wanted me to be happy in 81 me and glenn went and had lunch he told me funny stuff, and said he felt at ease with me =)

  • @OEKCVB Thanks OEKCVB for sharing with me, your so nice! I wish you all the best!

  • this superhit deserves 5stars, no doubt ´bout it.

    cheers.

  • YES. Thank You For Findin' this vid .

  • LeatherMan looks totally gay.

  • all of them look totally gay

  • Then your most welcome to leave

  • The Leatherman looks gay? And what do you call this: Leatherman looks "totally gay" ????

  • What is the latest Village People music video?

I never thought they were active in new music videos past the late 70's.

I also could not care less about their sexual orientation. Yeesh. Who cares?

  • For those so preoccupied with the Village People's sexual orientations, Ray Simpson, the lead singer of the band here, is straight. He's married with a kid. Now, back to the important stuff. This video is only marginally better than "5 O'clock In the Morning." At least it a quasi-interesting set. Great song, however, that also deserved better.

  • one of the best shh they gave as a gay old time giving us music we all enjoyed dont forget what that word means not what most people portray it means which is false

  • village people was the 1st boy band

  • 2nd lol The Jackson 5....

  • @iloveoreos15 you have a point

  • PLEASE!!! Anyone else who has some VP video from the Renaissance period, POST WHAT YOU HAVE! There is a massive fan base.

  • Who rubs if they are or no gay!

Count only the song, and not thing are singers to their house!

  • renaissance is a great cd every song is amazing

  • Another great "late" VP song - Ray Simpson always had a great voice. I would have liked to have seen he and Victor in the band together.

  • anyhow, who the f##k cares their´s sexual behaving, their´s hits are amazing.

  • Lol. If a good Guy-Band got only guys in the band with good voices. Its doesnt means that they are gay.

  • Actually they were gay..lol

  • ur wrong, pal.

    only 2of them were guy.

    an indian and a cowboy.

  • Yes only 2 of them were gay..

But they targeted the gay audience

  • The cop (the lead singer) was the only straight guy. He was married for a time to the woman who played Mrs Huxable in the Cosby Show in the 80's. True story!! I mean, look at the biker guy and he alone is screaming gay so....

  • @shezelli sorry pal but Leatherman was straight, cop was straight, indian and cowboy gay, and construction worker was bisexual

  • @MrDBZfan22 but who really cares

  • @MrDBZfan22 i didnt know all that, but i really dont care. indian is still the cutest.

  • Nope. The lead singer (the cop) was the only straight guy. Every one else is/was gay. I mean come on, just look at the biker guy if you have any doubts if they are or are not gay. That guy is 1/2 a step from putting a sign around his neck proclaiming it!!

  • actuallly only the indian (dont know his name) is/was gay the rest is/was all straight

  • the indian (FELIPE ROSE) is original member of the band.

also cowboy(RANDY JONES ) is gay.

the rest of the band aren´t gay.

  • it takes balls to sing like that AND look like that. MAJOR UBER SIGNIFICANT props to VILLAGE PEOPLE!!!! <<<<3333

  • this version isn´t original version.

the originalone is 1minute longer, anyhow i rated 5/5stars.

  • they not gay they all MACHO !!!!!

  • @skippybartalozzi Well being macho do not contradict with gay, in fact gay men like to be macho and love macho men.

  • except the lead singer, he was married to Phylicia Rashad (Claire Huxtable)from the cosby show.

  • first E.M.O on the cover of the disc d='1

  • and all people on the world know this~~*

  • are those men in drag?

  • Side 2 of "Renaissance" is the greatest album side in the history of recorded music.

  • Actionman and bigmac are awesomeones too.

  • Ahh, you finally found the real meaning of life. Congratulations.

  • "Renaissance" is a good album, but not a good Village People album. This is the standout song, but the make-up and costumes made them look like escapees from Cirque De Soleil.

  • Agreed. This song, plus Jungle City, are my two favorite tunes. Big Mac is catchy and Food Fight is one of those,WTF songs. But without a doubt,Action Man is no Macho Man,that's for sure.

  • @liveup5 Actionman really rocks also.

  • Why where they sword fighting on the stairs? And i laughed when they had there left arms up when they where fighting. lol

  • They were actually FENCING.... And that is a form...

  • Yes, I practise fencing and I do it, it´s too practical.

In addition, it doesn´t matter how they fence, they are awesome!

  • from CD renaissance, song number 1. the best. thank you

  • oh my goshh, i need a woman.

to spend a night with me.

i feel my body, u need your body, why dont we get high over sexual behaving, girl.

  • Some of the songs on the album are great. But! with songs like "Big Mac" and other dodgy lyrics on it, it sounds like bald-faced advertising. Who takes that seriously? That was their big mistake on this record (Along with the new Kissesque look). The Village People lost any credibility.

  • one of their´s best hits.

    I rated 5 stars.

  • This is from the Rennaissance Album, where they changed and put themselves make up a la Kiss, I really didn't like it, but the songs were sensational. Can you upload "Action Man"? Thanks for posting this.

  • I remember that song, it sounded like Whip It by Devo

  • I still remember when I was a child.I used to play this song in my radio.

    Awesome song !Thank post it!

  • This album was a big success in Italy, also the song 5 o clock in the morning!

  • This song is hot! This is partially a case for the Village People advancing faster than music business. I see nothing wrong with this song. However, I believe had they not done the movie, their subsequent music efforts would have fared much better then than they did.

  • The tragedy of the Village People is that they are singing about men, but doing videos with straight storylines.

  • Not all the boys were gay... two werent in the orignal.

  • I thought CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC movie disaster ended their career, had no idea they did anything after that.

  • yeahh!!!
