Ron Santo yes I agree he is an insipartion to everyone with the health battles he had and won :D No complaints no whineing, no pay raises, just FAITH :D And he did OVERCOME that health problem, with Hope and Honor! I will miss him so much many laughs, he was always part of a spring and summer no matter where he was. Now thats what I call " reach out and touch someone." Rest in Peace with warmest Love and Respect~~Roxy xo
Ron Santo was a class act, a gentleman and one of the best 3rd baseman of all time. I feel so sad that he didn't get into the Hall when he was still with us. He earned that. His stats were second only to Brooks Robinson during his era. Thank you for the memories Ron. You were my hero! R.I.P.
@The1954Willie you said it "Class act" very little of that today..I barely watch NFL, anymore , Zero NBA, unlike the current trend, Ron wasn't an absurdly over paid, self centered, head case, cry baby ! ..tail end of the athletes who played to play the game.
Its moments like that where White sox And the Cubs should be friends and not enimies :) One day hopefully it will come (And also keep in mind that im a sox fan)
check out my Santo tribute in my videos....even though i'm a Cardinal fan i have great respect for him and people who loved the game as much as he did! He was a True Cub fan, that did play by play!
never been a fan of the Cubbies, but Pat and Ron were easily the most entertaining announcing duo in baseball that i ever listened to. you'll be missed Ronny, and not just by Cub fans
The Baseball "hall of fame" seems to shame themselves into inducting players after they pass. We all know #10 should have been inducted years ago. So as it goes ..a few years from now he will be inducted. Why couldnt it have happend while he was here to be a part of it. As great a man he was, shoulda happened for him.
@sufirewebs don't associate all of us with that guy. im a sox fan but i can appreciate that santo was a good player and a good guy. that guy that commented was just a douche.
God Bless Ron and his family. He was a real hero on and off the field and all through his life. What an amazing baseball career he had all the while suffering with diabetes, keeping it to himself and never complaining. It's a terrible loss for Cubbie fans, the people of Chicago and anyone who ever loved baseball in the 1960's. Santo could hit for average, hit for power and was a great fielder. And he did all that with a terrible illness. He deserved to be in the HOF.
@zacatetas the only reason you said this is becaue you are hiding behind a computer you faggot. I dare you to say it to one of these loyal cub fans faces bitch
I am sorry that he didn't make the Hall of fame(so far, that is), but I especially feel bad for him that the Cubs hadn't won a World Series..it would've meant so much to him as well as all of us in Cubbieland
RIP Ron. Never really watched him play (then again, he retired about 17 years before I was born), but I wish I could have been around to watch him. Santo had some remarkable seasons.
I imagine he'll probably get sympathy votes next year, but I hope the voters are also voting for him because they've realized he belongs in the HOF.
Ron Santo was family to me. Sitting on the 3rd base side in Wrigley in the late 60's.I remember the passion he played with. I shed a tear today for him.God bless you Ron Santo. You were the greatest. R.I.P.
I think a good comparison with Ron is Greg Nettles. Both should be in.
