Yeah, it's good to see that there are artists who know how a strat must sound.

A Strat has to sound bitchy and dirty. Just like Doyle Bramhall or Eric Clapton.

Against that John Mayer's Sound is sterile. A Strat must behave and sound like a bitch, when you play it. John Mayers strat sounds like a tamed donkey.

Dude what are you talking about. Everybody got his own sound, it depends on style etc. I Think john mayer has a nice sound. And yes, John mayer HAS a typical strat sound. mostly because he uses (most of the time) a strat with the same pick-ups as stevie ray vaughan. and you can't deny that that ain't a typical strat sound. its not a game of 'who got the best sound' Its just what YOU like. there is no 'Suposed to be like that' sound.
