  • 1992 was when saw them everbody I know hates them but so what

  • the start of it all

  • I've always wanted to know the reason of why the puppies sent a message to Robert Palmer in the inner cover of "Rabies". ¿Does anyone know?

  • all the year i have walked through the street of bradford.. i had my gear on my ear with the pumping bass popping into me.. it was always my loving skinny puupy - rodent..:D i just cant get tht voice out of my head.. :D

  • I don't give a shit what people think or write. Skinny Puppy to me will always be INDUSTRIAL

  • !!Orgasm!!!

  • The Glengarry Glen Ross trailer brought me here

  • @zellyanks91

Haha, so did I...I never would have heard of this band if not for the GGR trailer

  • @CesMan83 GGR???

  • @DustManNightmare

"Glengarry Glen Ross" - It's a movie whose trailer played "Rodent"

  • my favorite music to listen to while i clean my weapons of mass destruction!!!!!!

  • Skinny Puppy !! what else can I say?

  • they found some new toys

  • All I can say is if you don't know puppy then you really wouldn't want to talk to me

Even Doctor Who ion my imagination listens to Puppy

  • @thudd23 well, we know pink floyd watched dr. who, thats for sure. thats something.

  • All I can say is if you don't know puppy then you really wouldn't want to talk to me

  • diss, threat, insult, anger, hate, anger!!! etc! etc! etc!!! Its pretty ridiculous how y'all love to vent your anger on each other. Nivek and cEvin would probably agree that y'all have missed the point of the music when you just get into hateful name calling, and arguments about what genre category name to define the music by. Industrial/post-industrial/electro-industraial whatever! It's not about the genre name, it's about the music, the art, the ideas, the message, the feeling.

  • @sumonesez Very true, the arguing is driving me insane lol

  • wheres from the girl voice? ive heard in other music too, did they make it or its from somewhere else?

  • @kant019 they use what are called "audio samples" or just "samples" which are basically sound clips from various sources such as movies or television etc. The woman speaking is not in the band.

  • @sumonesez

thats the point, i would like to know from wich movie or whatever it came from...

  • @kant019 sorry but I'm not sure where they got the sample from. By the way, I hope you know that my larger comment about-"diss, threat, insult,"etc. was not aimed at you, but at the other folks who keep dissing each other. I think your question is valid and I would also be interested in learning where they got their samples from :-)

  • @sumonesez theres an entire page of where the puppy got each albums samples from, i'm ashamed its not in my favourites, youre gonna have to google.

  • I wore this cassette out in 1980s!

  • All together! All Together!

  • yesssss

  • thank you realsolstice thank you...fucking right.

  • I just read the entire wikipedia page on "Industrial Music" and not once... NOT FUCKING ONCE... did they even mention Skinny Puppy. That's just fucking wrong as fucking wrong can fucking be. What fuckbrain wrote that wiki page? That's like writing a page on "Heavy Metal" and forgetting to put Ozzy Osborn in there... or writing a page on "Psychadelic Rock" and forgetting to put Pink Floyd in there.

  • Yeah, that's a big oversight. Skinny Puppy influenced an entire generation of industrial music performers. But still, Skinny Puppy were the contemporaries of many other important industrialists, and they were influenced by other industrial groups that pre-dated them. It's not like they started industrial music or anything.

  • Well, it's Wikipedia. If you feel like there's content missing . . . make an account, and add it . . . ?

  • I agree. The wikipedia history refers more to "aggo" than industrial. IMOthis album set the standard for contemporary industrial. For example, coining the phrase "fascist jockitch"...

  • @therealsolstice

    wikipedia is ran by jews

  • @throughtime, AKA FUCKING LOSER,

it matters because skinny puppy's page was modified negatively by the admins at that site, dumb fuck.

Okay? Do you get it yet, shitbag?

  • @therealsolstice You are so right, please rewrite it...

  • @therealsolstice You got that right. There are a lot music journalists (i.e. baby boomer former "hippies") from the '70s who still don't understand or appreciate Industrial. The genre didn't actually emerge until the 80s (convergence of electronic technology and geopolitics) and SP was one of the founding fathers...people like us need to be rewriting Wikipedia...

  • @therealsolstice Actually thats because Skinny Puppy is for some reason placed in the "Electro-Industrial" section of it.

  • @therealsolstice

That truly is outrageous. Skinny Puppy, Ministry, and Pig Face DEFINE the genre, and are the cream of the crop in my opinion. I saw them all live back in the day, and they were unbelievable.

  • @therealsolstice maybe you should edit the wikipedia article. At least they mention Throbbing Gristle. Not really sure why NIN is mentioned no there...

  • @therealsolstice Why don't you write something up on the page yourself dude? Just open a wiki account....

  • @therealsolstice very much agreed.

  • @therealsolstice lmfao too right!!! rotf toooooo right.

  • @therealsolstice not true....ok,not much,but.: Derivative Formen

Ferner waren Überlagerungen mit anderen Genres, insbesondere mit dem Post-Punk-Umfeld, charakteristisch. Diese Überschneidung findet sich unter anderem bei Künstlern wie Skinny Puppy oder den frühen Death in June.

    English:Derivative forms [Edit]

Were also overlaps with other genres, particularly with the post-punk environment characteristic. This overlap is found among others, artists such as Skinny Puppy or early Death in June.

  • @therealsolstice Please read the following entry from: Wikipedia, Electro-Industrial

"Electro-industrial is a music genre drawing on EBM and industrial music that developed in the mid-1980s. While EBM has a minimal structure and clean production, electro-industrial has a deep, complex and layered sound. The style was pioneered by Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and other groups....."

    Hope this helps.

  • @therealsolstice RIGHT ON TRS....TRUE DAT!!! CUZ WIKI LIKE NPR LIKE AP LIKE US VS DEM....WAKE UP GLOBALLY TO THE DEPTH OF THESE LYRICS CUZ THEY SO DEEP AND TRUE AND HEY DON'T FALL ASLEEP!!!! HEAVEN AWAITS BUT FEAR IS CHEAP.... LOL

  • @therealsolstice

wikipedia seems to be in this fix of wanting to promote only 1970's industrial as true industiral and 80's and on is considered post-industrial. In my day, throbbing gristle was traditional industrial. but puppy was industrial-dance. it's all a joke really. listen and enjoy. That's all I can say. fuck titles.

  • @therealsolstice so sad just sads

  • @therealsolstice Because technically SP are "Electro-industrial." The "Industrial" page mainly is concerned with 70s bands like Throbbing Gristle and Coil, which don't sound like SP at all.

  • @therealsolstice wiki is socially challenenged, they seem to favor gods chosen people, which are not my chosen people, but gods chosen people according to THEM...if you get my drift...see my video WHEN IS ANTISEMITISM NOT ANTISEMITISM?

  • @therealsolstice I don't have a problem with that. I think defining a group's sound as one thing or another kind of corals them. Skinny Puppy has always defied categorization in my opinion. Are they industrial? Eh, they're electronic and some of their music is danceable, but some of it is completely abstract. Some (particularly in the last 15 years) is glitchy, idm-ish, some is nearly rock, etc. I wouldn't really call them any one thing except probably the most creative band in modern history.

  • @therealsolstice Skinny Puppy is EBM or Industrial Rock.

  • @therealsolstice

    WTF????? are they Serious????

  • @111Libernull111

Who? FLA is the shit dude? And this sound bite is absolute metal. SP reigns, make no mistake, unless you were in the genre then stfu

  • @Camsdad09 "Genre"? It's a subculture...the industrial subculture. Although, I wouldn't expect any less from someone commenting on a skinny puppy song in 2012, released in 1989.

  • @Camsdad09

Actually when u mentioned METAL was when i laughed...I was saying WTF to the comment that they weren't included in an INDUSTRIAL List of Any KIND.

Infact this is one of my favorite Band....and I am female . SO WRONG WRONG WRONG...dont try telling me about SP or Industrial...I own Almost every album they have put out including TAPES....if that dates me. STFU....use that one someone not agreeing w/ u...

  • @111Libernull111

Also OWN Frontline Assembly Albums...and Know and listen to Throbbing Gristle and other Classics.

AS for being called Industrail Rock....idk...People just say Industrial Sans the ROCK addition u gave it.

  • @therealsolstice

Maybe they had a lobotomy scheduled that day...and forgot a few decades of industrial goodness....SMH..WTF?

  • @therealsolstice music like Throbbing Gristle or Einsturzende Neubauten is original Industrial. This verges more into Industrial Rock.

  • @KMFDMtoRULE They are classified as pioneers of the Electro-industrial genre.

  • @therealsolstice that is about as sad as not mentioning throbbing gristle.

  • @therealsolstice - I just read it as I have before and it says "Skinny Puppy embraced a variety of industrial forefathers and created a lurching, impalatable whole from many pieces."

  • Hey there dedeker, Godflesh and pitchshifter are in a whole different part of this inustrial. Without Skininy Puppy, things would be a lot different. Why do people use this forum to be negative idiots? Find something you like and like that.

  • Rabies is one my top five favorite albumns. I've listened to the thing a million times all the way through.

  • me too dude my favorite ,Fascist Jockitch is just too insane

  • You wouldn't know the real thing if it walked up and smashed your head in.

  • @dedeker I have no idea which you are.

  • Rabies flipping rocks, I don't care about comparisons and contrasts re Ministry or anyone else...They all worked together and a bunch of great music was the result and I'm thankful.

  • still takes me to another place when I listen to this

  • Compared to the Skinny Puppy before and after this, this is so minimal! We were almost thinking it wasn't done when they had to hand it over. Of course after a few (1,000 or more) listens, it's one of the best SP albums made.

  • I heard that Skinny Puppy did some songs from movies like "Saw II' and

"Saw IV" This song is awesome, so is the remix!

  • "The beauty of their souls...The sweetness of their characters live on with us forever."

This is from the Hitchcock movie "Shadow of a doubt".
