  • Would love to see what he was like at 30 xD

  • great escape trapping skill

  • It looks like the man on the right is scared. And why don't I see any kicking and throws ?

  • @erbake He looks intimidated coz he's a foot shorter than everyone else lol. There are no kicks or throws because throws aren't the focus of this style (which is a weakness), and kicks at that range aren't the ideal attack. Better to keep balance and rely on structure and hand techniques.

  • @erbake

Hes over 75 years old is far lighter than most if not all the other guys! Theres no kicks and takedowns/throws etc because wing chun doesnt include those techniques unfortunately.

Im not a big fan of wing chun(I prefer MMA) but I have respect for any old guys who are training in their art.

  • @SkemeKOS MMA is a sport, not a martial art. It is comprised of various martial arts. Something Bruce Lee did with his journey into the study of martial arts, outside of his base art of Wing Chun. MMA is more a system of what works best for the ring against sport competitors. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that these guys aren't fabulous fighters/martial artist, but MMA itself is not a martial art.

  • @aswashingtonwrites

MMA is both a sport and an art.

There are actually many gyms now that teach MMA as style itself. They teach all the various styles used in MMA fights in one gym.

I also think MMA(the style itself that is being taught now) works better than most traditional martial arts for the streets too.

And I KNOW that real MMA is better than all traditional martial arts in the street because their is no limit to the "style".

  • his arms probably feel like steel bars

  • Why the young boy try to beat GM Ip Chun?

Ip Chun is older then the boy.

It was an unrespectfull attitude to behave like that to the oldest person.

  • @YauwTaoCiu

I understand where youre coming from, but you have to understand that many people(myself included) find it disrespectful if someone takes it easy on you, when youre supposed to be better than them.

Maybe the old man is glad that they werent taking it easy on him?

  • I great respect for you

  • please come to Indonesia Grandmaster CHUN IP.

I would love to learn with you T.T

    I really idolized you.

  • Just wonderfull!!

  • idont understand but i have a respect for this old man

  • @anpredictable What don't you understand? Perhaps I could help explain it.

  • Can be taught to anyone. I hate when guys (mainly Ving Tsun guys) try to out muscle others, Ving Tsun us different in my eyes than Wing Chun, Ving Tsun uses way too much power and tries to outmuscle and outspeed people

  • @SnakePIissken I saw a comment on a wing chun video once where someone said a nonChinese couldn't master wing chun. It's funny what some people believe. Speed is definitely important, but structure is moreso than muscle.

  • Thanks for the upload! I did not like how some of these guys tried to go real hard on Mr Yip Chun, I Believe if you can do chi Sao slower and controlled and catch someone with pure skill rather than speed and power, that's the true essence if wing chun, because if you take the speed and power, you have no technique, simple. At 80-simething, Yip is still fast , but more importantly, he has GREAT technique, not only that, but you can't teach a slow guy to fight like a fast guy, but good technique

  • Whoaw..Nice..He didn't make any mistakes ...:D

  • another thing chinese martial arts teaches is respect for elders.. with age comes wisdom and experience....

  • jesus the speed is amazing

    thnks for sharing

  • Amazing!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • I met the guy. Ip Chun. such an honour!!!

    Amazing history behind that. =D

and the legacy lives on forever

  • I dont like to mention this, but it appears to me that every fight takes place in the Wrong distance? Wheres the point in striking, if my opponents to far away ? I always thought Chi Sau should teach propper Distance?

  • @Tigerbear1981 you should be trying to close the distance with chi sau but i think ip chun is keeping him away

  • cant belive hes the liitle kid in Ip Man...hehe but seriously, its so awesome to see the son of a grandmaster!

  • que viejito ta chingon

  • 10 people got beaten up by him

  • RESPECT.

  • Damn!!!!!! the old man is fast!!!!!!!!! He's a perfect example of that........... "YOU JUST NEVER KNOW HE REALLY IS" type........at first glance.........he's a very harmless looking old man........but here.........he's lightning quick, and his hands are quicker then his mind...... I guess it really is true what a finance coach of mine once said............. those who know don't need to say anything........those who don't know....say all the time

  • there is nothing much to say, just pure awesomeness.

    but i didn't like the guy @ 01:20

  • The best bit of this video is watching the surprise of his opponents turn to respect. The last guy is uprooting himself against the tiny master.

    Thanks for this.

  • Thanks for all your knowledge teacher

  • I love Chi Sao, Poon Sao (Sticky Hands, Rolling Hands) and chi sao sparring :)

    Ip Chun is awesome!!!

    Wing Chun is amazing!!!

  • wher do i find Qingyue Collection - 12 Kung Fu - "Dragon Song 3 ??? ic ant find it anywhere

  • wher do i find Qingyue Collection - 12 Kung Fu - "Dragon Song 3 ??? ic ant find it anywhere

  • this is fantastic, there is no way anyone is laying a finger on you with this amazing martial art style, you cant even be grabbed either and look at the size of those guys and yet there been schooled by someone a fraction of there weight

  • @reissyboy64 There's certainly a lot to be said about being totally badass :D

  • @reissyboy64

To say you cant be touched or grabbed is complete bull. I hate to break it to you but youre wrong...very wrong.

  • @SkemeKOS obviously your going to get 'touched' have you ever heard of a non contact type of martial arts, -__- I cant even be bothered to explain what figure of speech is to you lol, on like a year old comment, dont take it out on me because you got battered by someone doing karate!! wing chun is amazing - grab a leaflet!!

  • Comment removed

  • chi sau :D :D :D

    Its Chi Sao ^^

  • he's rockin the air maxs 95.

  • I find it a bit harsh on Ip Chun how aggressive are the other opponents,

Seriously why they have to be so rigid and strong. What they lack in pure experience and pure control, sensitivity and accuracy with technique. It shows that Ip Chun delivers.

  • dont underestimate master ip chun, he may be old and in this demonstrations he doesnt act like he's concentrating hard enough but i'm very sure that in a real fught his speed and strenght would increase drasticaly

  • ...

  • IP CHUNS SHOES ARE SIIIIK!!!

  • @Raickou44 are nike air max .. LOL

  • Having spent a lot of time for video of Ip chun, he is only a man with his famous father'name and , in fact, does not know how to perform " principle of wing chun". Furthermore, he only can practise his wing chun form to be similar as wing chun execrise. If you go through another style of wing chun in China, I guess that they are much better than his style . At least , they know how to use power from their waist and horse strand is more stable than him.

  • @toikooo you have not done chi sao with grandmaster Ip Chun...........that is OBVIOUS HA HA

  • @MrNinjafeet I have. He is incredible....

  • How can I find a music that is in this video? :) could you please help?

yeah and Shaun Rawcliffe vs Ip Chun - looks pretty cool :)

  • @avetiszakharyan I wish I knew :( I ripped it from the DVD so I could listen to it but it's poor quality. Would like to know who composed it myself.

  • @Shindai Okay, so it was hard to find this song :) I got some track id software that recognized the song, but name was in Chinese, so I was forced to draw these hieroglyphs with my hands in order to get them recognized by another software into letters and symbols I can actually copy, to put them in Google search box and go through Chinese sites while translating them to English to Google translate..

so - song is called: Qingyue Collection - 12 Kung Fu - "Dragon Song 3

    and I got the mp3 :-P

  • @avetiszakharyan Good job! Would you please email it to me? thatwanker@gmail.com Much obliged :)

  • @avetiszakharyan why do u want the music of all things its not like its great music lol

  • Bordereye

    Thats a none constructive coment

Against a great Kung Fu grand master

A great Sifu and a living legend,

He's been training his whole life

The slaps on his arms are to show

You how solid his block is and how

    Strong his stance is .....

    Do you train ?

  • @TheTweak0r I trained and taught for years. I've nothing personal against Ip Chun, of course, but know that some masters and even grandmasters are by no means as good as their students say. If you must know, every time I post a negative comment about Ip Chun, I hope someone will convince me I'm wrong, even a little... By the way, I know people who have trained with him and confirm my impression. They also say his brother, Ip Chin, is more skilled and has a deeper knowledge of Wing Chun.

  • All those guys could have hit Ip Chun many, many times but only aimed to his arms. It seems to me that they treat him like a child... because they love him, they let him win.

  • @bordereye Looks to me like they just never get a chance to reach him lol though he does play more when he's with Shaun Rawcliffe

  • @Shindai Guys, gotta remember he is much much older than these younger folk. But still a man his age to perform such things at his age, I applaud him and look up to him.

  • @bordereye A few times they have chance, but it will be very light hits which deal no damage(hard enough for a 80 years old, I guess). Anyways, the old man opponents are masters at their peak, it's amazing enough he could keep up with them.

  • @bordereye If those guys were over 75, will they be on the same level as Ip Chun is now? It's fairer to compare people of the same ages. The way you view it makes me laugh =)

  • @bordereye Precisely.

  • @bordereye Also remember that in any Martial Arts one must learn to take a hit to give a hit...perhaps they could have hit him but a master as Ip Chun is, he would've found an opening, a mistake the opponent made and attack there.

  • Off the scale!!

  • My sifu's bones feel like iron to me, his sifu's feel like iron to him, his sifu is sam kwok who's arms I am assured feel like iron to him... imagine for a second what Ip Chun's arms/bones must feel like.

  • i feel proud of ip man doing this kind of demostration :)

  • if IP chun would really land those blows they would be knock out

  • seems that GM's good at using bong sau :D

  • No matter how hard as every students tried to hit, they couldn't even touch him and yet, Ip Chun's marital skill has reach his peak of perfection. It's simply amazing that Ip Chun managed to block every attacks with just one arm with less movements. Whereas students use more than one move to intercept the attack but Ip Chun only need one and its delivered. It take years to master one simple move. He's definitely the Grandmaster of Grandmaster of all Wing Chun. Most venerable respect to him!!!

  • My respect; sifu master Ip Chun is really great!!! Is unbelieveable how this old thinny man kick the fat black man ass !

  • omg!!!! u see the power of a old man!!!!!!!????

  • Wonders why ip chun appears to be so highly esteemed ?? Personally his brother ip chings wing chun has always looked the more grounded focused, he also has more imagination instead of just performing flappy bong, biu, bong, biu limp wristed actions!

  • I think "Kung fu Man from Kuala Lumpur" in the youtube search, the guy can beat him. His name is Bernard Looi. He ban beat this old man.

  • Awesome. I really really like Sifu Rawcliffe's Chi Sao. He always looks totally rooted.

  • Freaking Amazing!!

  • Respect

  • what more if ip chun is younger...

  • OMG IT'S THE SON OF THE LEGENDARY IP MAN HIMSELF!! OMG!!!

  • that guy was not going easy

  • Interesting video. Thanks for sharing this.

Hope you will stop by our page as well.

    Thanks

    CatChing Do Defensive Arts Staff.

  • Inspiring.

  • i want a master like him

  • very nice and well done. Good control of angles.

  • 2:23 was crazy. what an ending with that neck chop.

  • who's that man at 1:20

  • i have to say the man at 1:20 was rather impressiver

  • That would be sifu Rawcliffe himself :) I could watch these two legends chi sau forever

  • Are you one of his students shindai? I would have prefered it without the comedy again. Still its better than the thug one. Starting to sound like a broken record.

  • Don't think there was deliberate comedy in this one, just having fun. I'm not a student of his, but my first assessment was followed by an impromptu seminar by him and he is shit hot at wing chun :)

  • you are quite right i must say

  • @Negend 2:05 too....

  • I have been lucky enough to witness lots of great chi sau, but the opening of this film where Ip Chun chi saus with Sifu Martin Brierley shows more usage of Wing Chun's energies and minute angles in such a short space of time, it is a mind blowing example of high level Kung Fu. It's apparent these two have practiced together for many years. What do you guys think??

  • I was one of sifu rawcliffes students many years ago, almost 15 yrs ago to be precise, i trained at the 'scouts hall' kwoon. This man and si gung i have lots of respect for, sifu is very accomodating in lessering his chi sao skills to make any student feel more comfortable, yet when he shows hints of his true levels he is amazing!

Sifu Rawcliffe is an excellent Wig Chun teacher, and the west midlands practitioners are very lucky to have this Sifu available to be taught by... Highest respect.

  • Thank you for this wonderful comment :) It's poetry in motion to see taisigung Rawcliffe and Ip Chun chi sau

  • your very welcome sir!....It truly is poetry in motion!

  • @kober777 I count myself one of the lucky :D

  • Shindai you are definately right about them having fun & it not being bad Chi Sao. In fact most of the videos here of Shaun are him messing around a bit & having fun. Shaun is my Sifu & when he does some serious Chi Sau it is something to behold indeed. It makes me laugh all these people really analysing Ip Chuns videos for mistakes & critisising with there own little arrogant opinions If they ever had a chance to do some serious chi sao with him theyed get thrown all around the room lol

  • Bingo, sodamiza! You hit it right on the money.

  • @sodamiza completely agree. I couldnt have said better myself as a Wing Chun student :)

  • great demo

  • much respect for grand master ip chun

  • The last guy who fought with ip chun , used a different way of attacking , well done. even though it didnt work out so well , it shows that he understands how to intercept.

  • Ip Chun is unbelivable!

  • It is Ip Man's son after all... I mean, that's like jaw dropping as it is...

  • @1UpGamers He started late in WC. When Bruce lee because famous he started taking interest in WC. That's Yip Chun.

  • LOL. He's only moving slow. He helped teach my sifu. With my sifu's speed and technique I'm afraid of really getting into it with yip chun lol.

  • Yeah brother. I noticed that bong sau the first time also. My sifu told me it's only a temperary thing. Leaves your body open for a shot.

  • Please don't compare ip chun to his father. A teacher can only teach his student so much. The rest is up to the student. Some people are just extremely tallented. Have you done chi sau with yip chun. Please do not disrespect. And you are correct. Wing Chun is not a flashy mans sport. That's what I love about it. I like the simplicity of it. LOL. Looks like the video is just basic. I see no kicks. This video isn't meant to be advanced. Peace over power.

  • A man's perception is their reality....I have watched many of Ip chun's chi sau vids and he does the same thing. It is entertaining to say the least. I know for a fact ip chun didn't learn that from his father who was very technical and simplistic the way wing chun should be. It is not a flashy man's art

  • Interesting footage! Bong sau should never stay yet he keeps it locked in when others are chi sauing and trying to transition into techniques.

  • That's a fair point. I've been to a seminar led by Rawcliffe and he's ridiculously good at what he does, so I assume it's just him and his mate playing around and having some fun when they chi sau, rather than bad wing chun or anything. I still find it fun to watch, I hope you do too :)

  • Jusrt finished reading Sifu Shauns book, and I learned a lot from it, so thank you! ;-)

Great Video Clip, Any more clips of the event?

  • Got the whol show, ip chun isn't in much of it, but Shaun does a fun and cool demonstration of wing chun vs some thugs. I may upload it but will need his permission first so I don't get my ass handed to me at the next assessment :p

  • Just uploaded the other clip I mentioned, hope you enjoy it :)

  • does ip chun not know how to get out of crossed arms, or does he just not want to teach rawcliffe?

  • Comment removed

  • mr rawcliffe is way to mechanical, like a robot.

  • I like ip chun, I just wish he would hit more, instead of blocking.

  • Id fart and this guy would go down! JK RESPECT

  • i love GM Chuns' daps too.....brilliant

  • nice upload shin.... find out how much it is to go to china,,,speak 2 u tuesday.....

no need to comment, u know what i think about them and their WC ;-)

  • ip chuns too sick, raokin them air max's aswell

  • poetry in motion

  • Grand Master Ip Chun... no words can describe this :)

  • "Awesome" is a good start though ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • always good looking stuff from the Ip family

  • Fair play, well funny when sigun rawcliffe trapped master chun's arms...i myself wouldn't have the balls to do that :-)

  • lol I love how Ip Chun makes him pay for it though ;;

  • i went to rawcliffes class in Bham for a bit, really great atmosphere but i had to quit :(

  • That's a shame, may I ask how come? I'm trying to work up the funds and contacts to go train there for a month, I'm in Wales and don't drive so it's kinda awkward. Went to a seminar he did in November though, insane skills on the guy, good laugh too. I'm gutted for you that you had to stop :(

  • TTT

  • Sorry?

  • GM Yip Chun is a true Master

  • Nice to see a comment in his favour, there's so much negativity toward him on youtube, I appreciate your appreciation lol

  • Most of the people who talk bad about Wing Chun probably haven't grasp the understanding of it.Here is a Man who has lived longer than all of us and live Wing Chun.None of us youngster have any right to say anything bad, great job GM Ip Chun

  • Oh sure we have the right to say anything bad, but it'd make us judgemental morons if we do, not to mention ignorant and arrogant... but I digress - thanks for the comment :D ... got called away and forgot what else I was gonna say.. ah well, glad you posted

  • Amasing how he withstood that inner side Pak Sau :D

  • That gung lik's a bitch, ain't it? :D They're making something of an exhibition of it no doubt, given how close they are, but I wonder if it really hurt Rawcliffe more than Ip, they looked like pretty solid paks :o

  • LOL, the Bong Sau King, bwah bwah bwah.

  • I love the music in this, does anybody have any idea where I could download it? It's stunning, and suits the fun student and teacher are having together so well!

  • Do you have an example of the undiluted system?

  • Looks like the usual hand-chasey-jerky-pose-for-the-camera "Chi Sau" that already plagues the system....

    Just an honest opinion..

  • I'm quite new to wing chun, do you have an example of a very good chi sau video?

  • ip chun is an insperation to the wing chun system! i love watching his chi sau, i wish one day i caould train with him i can only hope :) sifu rawcliffe looks awsome too, this is very good wing chun and a pleasure to watch!
